flomax

Avatar n tn I've taken flomax for several years, and want to undergo cataract surgery. What should I expect? This discussion is related to Cataract surgery and Flomax.
Avatar f tn I had cataract surgery on Tuesday - today, Friday - I am still feeling a gritty sensation in eye and it is blurry. I can't even tell if my eye is open or not until I look in the mirror. I saw the doctor again yesterday and he just ordered new drops. I am taking 4 kinds of eye drops now. I think they are further irritating things. Is there anything topical I can do - like warm washcloth or cold washcloth? I feel like ripping my eye out!
1580703 tn?1651904887 However it has been reported that treatment with FLOMAX capsules for up to 12 months had no significant effect on prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and does not effect prostate. It effect the vision and may cause blurred vision but that is found in only 0.2- 2% of the patients. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn s from the Flomax my husband takes and that it will take longer for his vision to clear.(the Dr. was aware of the flomax before surg.) What has been your experience with this troublesome outcome? My husband is very discouraged.
Avatar m tn Flomax can cause "floppy iris syndrome" (FIS). A small percentage of people on Flomax and a much much smaller % of people that were on Flomax in the past but not on it now have FIS. FIS can make surgery, usually cataract, more difficult as the pupil does not stay dilated. However FIS is now widely recognized and special techniques have been devised to deal with the floppy, contracting iris.
Avatar m tn The doctor did two injections on right eye. After the treatment, my eye was very bloody and both far and close up vision was blurry with right eye. Far vision came back after a few days. But close up vision is still blurry and objects seem a lot smaller than they actually are. It is only blurry when i put my glasses or contacts on. Without, my glasses or contacts, reading is not blurry at all. Why would lasering be a lot more complicated and painful on one eye?
Avatar f tn On follow up two weeks later my vision had not resolved (blurred) and the surgeon advised that there was an inflamation which he hoped would go away with heavy application of Maxidex eye drops. It did not and on subsequent examination he advised that the vitreous gel was seeping around the lens and obscuring the pupil. He said that the lens was correctly located and the capsule intact.
Avatar f tn I stopped, and when the urinary issues seemed to be more problematic again, I returned to the added Flomax, and immediately discovered the same lack of semen and abdominal pain (during the 2 months not taking Flomax, ejaculatory function returned to normal). My question (after all that build up) is are any other men here on Flomax combined with Detrol LA? And, if so, has anyone had the same experiences that I previously explained?
15314343 tn?1439794398 s and my own surprise my vision had gone from 20/40 to 20/50. Weird though not consistently, just off and on, not as easy as just "night-blindness" or my other thought of allergies. I very rarely drive at night, so noticing vision changes sparodically during the day only, allergy "snotty" or not. I asked my liver Specialist of any ties of my vision changes to the Harvoni and she was sure that their was no documented findings stating any such thing. Anyone beg to differ???
Avatar m tn Saw my primary MD today. He said that the Flomax relaxes muscles in the bladder and prostate, and the Avodart shrinks the prostate. He said that after a year or so, if the prostate has gone down and reduced the problems, they like to eliminate the Flomax, as it is no longer necessary. Long story short, I now have a prescription for Avodart alone. I realize that it may not reduce the surgery risk, but one less drug is a good thing.
Avatar f tn It is common and usually it makes a woman temporarily more near-sighted on the other hand any of the non-pregnant causes of blurry vision can occur as well as blurred vision associated with toxemia of pregnancy/eclampsia. See an Eye MD and aslo tell your OB MD. Ask the OB MD if the Eye MD can use drops to dilate your eyes. rarely to never do they object.
Avatar f tn What could cause and cure blurry vision? It starts in the summer and clears up in the winter. I wear soft contact lenses and change them frequently, but this doesn't seem to help.
Avatar f tn I have had a migraine with a blurry right eye for about a week. I went to the doctor last week and he gave me Imitrex. It helped the Migraine a little which was just burning and pain in back of my eyes...but my right eye is still blurry and I'm worried that it's never going to go away. I'm scared...hope it's nothing serious.
Avatar f tn I'm 38+2 and my right eye keeps going abit blurry. Its worse when I first wake up and gets better. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn I believe both the Vitamin A deficiency and Insomnia could be the WHOLE reason I am seeing a bit blurry, and would like some advice. Thank you doctor(s) for your time. Have a wonderful day!

Avatar m tn Hi Doctors- I've noticed lately that I've been getting C shaped blurry lines on the outer side of my right eyes vision, they last from 15 to 30 minutes and are very distracting, I've also noticed that this happens mostly, but not always after looking at bright light. thank you for your help.
Avatar n tn I am a 42 year old female who has always had 20/20 vision. I've had floaters for a number of years- but they came and went and were not numerous. In October of 2008 I noticed I couldn't see clearly when writing a check or jotting down an appt on a calendar (any close up work of that sort) so after attempting to self diagnose myself with the help of the internet- I decided I had presbyopia and picked up a pair of reading glasses in November of 2008 and they worked wonders !
233034 tn?1215308451 m 19 weeks pregnant and a friend told me that pregnancy can cause this. My vision is blurry when trying to read from a distance and i've never had this problem before.
Avatar f tn I am a 26 year old female. Since I woke up Thursday morning I have had blurry vision. It is like a dark shadow going in a line across the bottom to middle of my vision. It has not got any worse or better since it started. I went to the optician on Thursday and she said if it was still the same on Friday to go to the eye hospital a&e in London. It was no better on Friday so I went to a&e.
Avatar n tn Why does my vision become blurry after eating? I also have this problem when I am outside in the cold and walk into a warm building.
Avatar n tn Your vision can also change during your pregnancy even if your not diabetic and can change again once you have the baby or stop nursing. If your vision is coming and going it's more the diabetes.
1458533 tn?1285685681 Decrease in tears, dryness of eye, conjunctivitis, palpebral edema, stye, lacrimal sac infection, eye strain, refractive errors of eye like near or far sightedness etc can all cause blurry vision. Chronic eye static may be due to the electrical activity inside our eye. This produces an image of the vitreous and retina, sometimes white spots against black or vice versa and sometimes red hues too. This is normal. Rarely this is due to inflammation. Hope you have consulted an eye specialist.
Avatar m tn When i look at text on paper, sometimes i get almost like double vision, but not like cross your eyes double vision, its almost like its a little out of focus, and if i close one eye, it still happens, and i can see the text/object clear in both eyes, but its like a faint shadow of the same text/oject. If i open my eyes really wide it all focuses and the shadow goes away, or if i tip my glasses to sharpen the vision, it goes away. The best way i can show this is in the picture attached.
Avatar m tn Having some blurred vision today and a little bit yesterday. No other symptoms, no swelling or anything like that but its really annoying and I hope it passes!! Anyone else have/had this?
Avatar n tn Hello. I recently had a brain tumor (craniopharyngioma) transsphenoidal total resection in feb 2023. 2 weeks after the surgery my left eye became completely blurry/hazy. about 2 weeks ago my rt eye became blurry. I've been to the opthalmologist 4 different times. they have done the Snellen and my visual acuity is 20/20 in both eyes according to their testing. My f/u MRI 2 days ago shows "slight sagging downward of the optic chiasm with thickening.
Avatar f tn I have noticed that when I look at it for about an hour I begin to lose my vision everything becomes blurry and it takes 4 to 5 hours or more before I can see clearly again. I have been having some pain from my wisdom teeth so I thought maybe my vision could be because of my wisdom teeth as well?
Avatar f tn Use the search feature and read about "papilledema" and "papillitis" and "optic neuritis" there is also a condition where the optic nerve looks swollen but really isn't that is called "pseudo-papilledema". If it is only in one eye at your age the most common cause of a true swelling would be optic neuritis of the nerve head (the visible part of the optic nerve) also known as papillitis.
