Avatar n tn About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off). I've done physical therapy as well, which helped my flexibility, but didn't take away any of the pain. Should I consider surgery?
Avatar f tn You should feel a stretch in the back of your upper leg. Hold this position for a count of 10 seconds. Relax and repeat 10 times. Repeat this exercise another 10 times using your opposite leg. Hamstring stretch can help maintain flexibility in your hamstrings as well as reduce any pain that may occur as the result of high hamstring tendinopathy. Position your affected leg on a couch or bench fully extended. Your heel should be flat on the bench with your toes facing the ceiling.
Avatar m tn I have lower back upper buttocks pain that starts with a burning that gradually increases to a painful burning. It hurts only when I'm sitting, and when at its most painful gives me a feeling like my butt cheeks are being pryed apart and I'm sitting on bone. I went to a doctor and was told it is not Sciatica, and that it is a muscle issue and that stretching therapy to improve my flexibility in my hamstrings, and strengthin my core will help rectify the problem.
Avatar n tn I am a 58 years old and no0w I can hear this grinding of my upper body and it scares me and I do have a clue what this is please help.
Avatar n tn m sitting at my desk and stretching my arms back. It stretches my back/upper torso and arms, but when I do it I seem to hold my breathe a bit and it causes a very intense pain on the very top of my head. The intensity goes down after a few moments and then a small headache lingers from a few minutes to a few hours. I don't try to hold my breathe though and I don't hold the stretch for more than a few seconds.
963284 tn?1247497327 after your lower back procedure, did you get lower back flexibility relief, if so how long?? Trying to get a sense if I got the most out of my surgery alreadt or if things will continue to improve. Walking and streatchign really dont help, just sitting in ftiff chairs and laying on beds, the flat floor gave me relief before surgery but not now.
Avatar n tn I currently have restricted range of motion in my left and right upper arms. This has been a slowly worsening condition that has been progressing for perhaps 6-10 months. Please note that when I first noticed a diminished range of motion it was so minor with no pain that I didn’t even know at the time that something was wrong and figured it was just a result of losing flexibility as I aged.
Avatar m tn The upper limit is 5.9cm according to my echo report. And body size has a bearing on the size of an individual's left ventricle after diastole (filling phase) so that may be a factor to consider. Also, the size is not a static metric but varies from minute to minute with the end systolic metric. To just consider lowering the diastolic range (filling capacity) the parameter of interest would be the ejection fraction.
Avatar n tn I am in desperate need of some help/guidance. I have been dealing with constant upper back pain (mainly between shoulder blades) since May 5th.I am a 25 year old male and I went snowboarding for the first time in my life on March 30th. For the month of April, I was not very active. I work out regularly with weight and running but I did not do much. I was sore for the 1st week after snowboarding but it subsisded fairly quickly.
Avatar n tn My right arm was normal with no decreased flexibility. There was no pain, and I just figured the problem with the left arm was reduced flexibility due to aging. Then about 4-5 months ago, I noticed that the range of motion had reduced even more. Maybe a few more inches. Still no real pain. This basically only affected the ability to reach behind my back and wash it in the shower. Up until that time, it never entered my mind that something could be wrong with my shoulder/upper arm.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn Some docs offices don't close on that particular holiday. Check with yours. There is a little wiggle room, but mostly they like to keep things on schedule since it's easier to schedule patients consistent on a particular day rather than randomly. You could do chemo on Thursdays as an alternative. I did mine on Thursday afternoons so I had more than plenty of time to "bounce" back by Monday. Hopefully you'll have as good a time with the chemo as I did...
1530342 tn?1405016490 com/id/43656171/ns/politics-white_house/ WASHINGTON — A top House Republican Wednesday signaled new flexibility on White House demands to close wasteful or ineffective tax loopholes as a way to bridge differences with President Barack Obama and Capitol Hill Democrats in talks on a plan to reduce the deficit and pave the way to increase the government's borrowing authority.
Avatar f tn One study performed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill showed that subjects who performed dynamic warm-ups had higher performance in the vertical jump test than those who just did standard stretching. Dynamic flexibility, which is moving your muscles and joints within your full range of motion repetitively, should be performed before weightlifting because it stimulates higher neural activity and increases tissue elasticity.
Avatar f tn Your tricep runs along the back of your upper arm. To stretch it, stand with your back straight and your feet shoulder-width apart. To stretch your left tricep, bend your left arm and bring your elbow straight up so that it points to the ceiling. Grab your elbow with your right hand, and pull your elbow toward your head. You should feel the stretch along the back of your bent arm. Hold 15 to 30 seconds, then switch elbows. Repeat 2 to 4 times on each arm.
Avatar f tn s Health Total Workout in Ten! It is broken into ten minute segments- cardio, upper body, lower body and flexibility/balance. You can pick out the routine that you want to work on or do them all. It also gives an alternative set of exercises to do, actually demonstrated by one of the women on the dvd, that are not quite as strenuous. It was around $15 on amazon. I have also seen dvds specific to MS patients' needs. You might want to look at those, too.
Avatar f tn The given range for the EF is usually enough to maintain a balance of blood flow as is the heart rate 60-100. When the EF exceeds the upper limit that indicates there is over-compensation and the heart is pumping harder than normal to maintain a balance of blood flow between the left and right side. If the underlying is not corrected such as cardiomyology, the over-compensating dilated heart will begin to have weak contractility and eventually heart failure (EF below 30%).
Avatar n tn Include abdominal and upper body exercises such as crunches, planks, side planks, pushups, pullups and triceps dips for total body strengthening to improve your fitness and elevate your metabolism. Perform yoga or stretches after each exercise session to improve your flexibility and reduce your risk of soreness and injuries. Stretching helps to elongate your muscles to give your legs a leaner appearance. No excess sodium and improve your diet to reduce water retention.

Avatar n tn m only 6 weeks I woke up this morning with an awful pain in the left part of my upper back, that kinda sends this fluttery feeling to my ribs. It's fine if I don't move but everytime I get up or turn or lift my arms I'll have a sharp pain that takes my breath away. Should I be worried, an go get it checked or is this pretty common?
