Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility unit

flexibility

Avatar n tn htm To me, the basic difference is variability and flexibility. With Lantus, you know exactly what you are dosing, and you also dose exactly the amount of fast acting you need. With 70/30 there is a lot extra to take into account. I personally don't know many, if any, people who are still using mixed insulin, except in poorer countries where they can't get anything else.
551683 tn?1220656108 A TENS unit is a portable device you can wear on your belt or whatever. It has pads and wires. To the best of my knowledge, it sends vibrating pulses through the wires to the muscles where you put the pads. I guess you could compare it to what is sometimes used in physical therapy. (that's where I learned about it) You can control the intensity of the pulses. When they used one on my shoulders at PT, it really helped a lot. I know a portable unit is not the same, but works similarly.
551683 tn?1220656108 I wondered if anyone has a TENS unit? My doc. gave me a scrip for one, but I haven't checked on it yet. My thought is that it would help those big muscles across my upper back that hurt SOOOOOOO bad. Any thoughts on these TENS units?
630344 tn?1280104983 Just wondering if anyone has any advice on TENS Unit? Should or shouldn't try or if it worked for anyone for the pain?
Avatar f tn I have PAD as well as pain in legs from fibromyalgia. Would a TENS unit be safe and probably helpful for my leg pain (especially calves)?
1306714 tn?1327257080 Just wanted to let you know I went and had the TENS unit explained to me today and she put it on. She couldn't believe how swollen my neck was and could understand why there was so much pain. She said I should notice a difference since this unit bring's now swelling. I'm so anxious to get some relieve. I'll keep you updated on how it is working. She said to use it 30min. It auto. shut's off wait an hour and turn it on again. So I am waiting for my 2nd treatment.
Avatar f tn Hello ladies, I am 27 weeks pregnant and experiencing a ton of back pain.. I was wondering if anyone had any information on whether a tens unit is safe to use on my upper back? I've tried researching it but couldn't find a straight answer???
Avatar f tn I live in the UK and I am planning on giving birth in a maternity unit, there are only 8 midwifes that work there and they dont do epidurals and stuff that a hospital do, this is my first pregnancy, am I in for a shock with the amount of pain i'll be in? Also, if the baby is healthy then I am allowed to give birth and go home as soon as I want, I just want to go in, give birth and maybe rest a few hours then go home, what should I pack?
Avatar n tn My 9 yr old son takes total 15 units of insulin doses (4 unit before breakfast, 6 before lunch (fast acting) and 5 unit (long acting)after dinner. He has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes since last 4 months. His sugar levels are generally in control although I have not done his A1C test. I want to explore insulin pump for him. I live in India and we don't have insurance to cover the pump and its supplies. I have following questions.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.
Avatar f tn My husband and I ended up in hospital for them and we have a app with the early pregnancy unit is there anything to worry about?
Avatar f tn He told her to check into a unit and get off the meds except the anti rejection meds. Before she saw him (last week by the way) she had made up her mind to get off all of it anyway. She had already stopped the pain med she had been on for quite a while before she saw him and that shows she is serious about it. The likely reason for the shingles is an ortho gave her 3 steroid shots in a 2-3 month time period for very severe pain as her "hamstring" was torn loose in her pelvic area.
Avatar m tn My Dentist has recommended that I extact my 2 lateral upper incisors( loose and crooked) and get crowns on 4 other front teeth for a 6 unit fixed bridge. I am not a candidate for implants, smoker, osteoporosis, clencher and gum disease. One of my front teeth is already crowned and past due for replacement, Will this work?
Avatar n tn So, iv been referred to the fetal medicine unit. Not entirely sure why. Im 15weeks pregnant. Was told that iv got a b12 defiency and that my blood results showed high risk of my baby having down syndrome. However the scan results showed my baby not having down syndrome. Has anyone else been referred to this unit and their baby been fine? If my baby was to be born with downs then id love him/her just as much as i do my other children.
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar m tn If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!

Avatar n tn I have a bulging L5 - S1 that has been causing problems for just over a year now. I've had 4 epidurals, and have been taking pain pills daily. About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).
