Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility training wrestling

Avatar m tn Anyways, recently I have taken up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Wrestling (Mixed Martial Arts). During training, we suffer some injuries.Usually that include injured hands, feet, split toes from the mat, mat burns and some rashes. Every now and then someone will end up bleeding, which they are usually removed from training until they quit bleeding and are bandaged up. My concerns are that the HIV/HEP C statuses are unknown. We are not required to submit a blood test prior to training.
Avatar m tn After wrestling practice yesterday I noticed some spots of blood on my shirt and leg. One of my training partners must have had a cut that was bleeding. Is this cause for concern? Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn I just got into weight training but I dint know how to eat right. Can someone please guide me and show me a plan for teens or something.HELP.
Avatar n tn s recommended anyone who knows they have hsv1 be on daily suppressive therapy during wrestling season and to avoid wrestling when obvious cold sores are present. I recommend talking to someone in charge to find out what their rules are where you are at. Even the best blood tests for herpes still miss 1 out of every 10 hsv1 infections. Not real unusual to be + on one test and not another like you have been.
Avatar n tn The answer is additional protein and resistance training, such as lifting weights. That will build muscle, not fat, and make you stronger and bigger in a healthy way. Don't go overboard with the protein; too much is not good for you, but more will help put on muscle. If you really just want to get fat, eat more sugary and fatty foods.
Avatar m tn i broke my humerus bout 4 years ago arm wrestling, i still cant to this day straighten my arm, its very uncomfortable and hurts, i cant cycle a bike for more than 5 mins without it been in pain, can i have it broke and reset??
20893158 tn?1579358911 s wise to alternate activities at least some, and getting some resistance training in as well and flexibility training can at least potentially reduce the costs of running. Peace.
Avatar f tn Thanks for post. It’s really informative stuff. I really like to read.Hope to learn a lot and have a nice experience here! my best regards guys! ----------------------- weight training--weight training [URL="http://www.trainwithmeonline.
Avatar f tn Are they young children, say, under the age of 10? When it comes to training a puppy, EVERYONE in the house must cooperate with the training, this is why I never recommend getting a puppy to a family who has very young children. The kids are not able, at that age, to participate in the training and dominant breeds (and rottweilers and huskies are BOTH dominant breeds) will come to see the kids as their underlings and will treat them as such.
Avatar f tn My 17 year old son had a sports physical and complained of light-headedness and vomiting twice in the past two months during strength training at his school. Sometimes he has also complained of having trouble breathing during the workout when he was wrestling for the school two years agol. The physician would not clear him. He has since had blood work (all normal) and an echo cardiogram.
168348 tn?1379357075 I write this post as proof that if we have the determination to succeed we will see success .. sometimes it takes longer than we hope, but it will happen if we truly are motivated. My son who is only 10 started wrestilng this year .. most of his peers have 3+yrs experience and coming from a family with 3 older sisters he was clueless as to any moves whatsoever.
1387575 tn?1279684381 Its a little lengthy so bare with me. First off, I am a very active person. Before the injury I weight lifted on a regular basis, played lacrosse throughout high school (i just finished my freshman year in college), and I frequently took trips to the rock gym and various outdoor rocks for climbing. In January I started the Crossfit fitness program (www.crossfit.com). This program combined strength training, agility work, running, gymnastic, olympic lifting, balance, mobility, and flexibility.
Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
Avatar m tn Currently my main issue of concern is how susceptible to infection this condition makes me during wrestling. As I mentioned, in my original post, we are always looking out for things like staph and ringworm and are told to make sure cuts and burns heal before getting on the mat. I want to know if this condition falls into the same category and makes me more vulnerable or if it is different and I can continue wrestling.
Avatar m tn s getting to the point that I literally cannot miss a single training session. If I do the pain starts coming. It then only starts to go away after two or three training sessions. More info about the pain: It hurts when I look down, and it restricts my flexibility (it hurts to much to touch my toes). When it hurts I constantly move around because it relieves the pain (kind of like when you have to urinate) The pain feels almost like the growth pains that I use to get in my legs as a child.
Avatar m tn Oh, I always thought that professional wrestling was rather more deliberately planned and choreographed than the opposite; live and learn. If you do line your shorts, please go to a professional seamstress who does skating costumes or costumes for male dancers, he or she would be able to make a relatively natural looking pair of trunks that do not look silly.
Avatar f tn Finally, using good shoes (ideally compensating for individual foot differences) is important. The shin can be trained for greater static and dynamic flexibility through adaptation, which will diminish the contracting reflex, and allow the muscles to handle the rapid stretch. The key to this is to stretch the shins regularly. However, static stretching might not be enough. To adapt a muscle to rapid, eccentric contraction, it has to acquire greater dynamic flexibility as well.
Avatar f tn (I am 29 and exercise routinely with HIIT and strength training.). I have never had hip pain before, but I have had aches like this that have improved with rest and gradual return to my exercise routine. I exercised fine for about two weeks with that dull, intermittent pain in my hip. But for about a month now, my hip pain has become very severe. I have been unable to exercise or do much stretching at all. I even bought a cane to help me hobble around!
Avatar n tn They consist of stretching and holding different joint and muscle groups for 10 to 30 seconds each. Stretching improves flexibility, and daily stretching is the basis for any exercise program. Strength exercises involve working the muscle against resistance. This can be either with or without weights. Resistance training strengthens the muscle and increases the amount of activity you can do pain-free. Conditioning exercise, also called aerobic exercise, improves cardiovascular fitness.

Avatar n tn Hey Folks, I have recently suffered a detached retina (macula off), I can still see quiet a bit but there is very little clarity in my left eye. The doctors have tested me and I went from 20/20 to 20/100. This is a result of a training accident during sports (wrestling). I'm not sure exactly where to go from here....I am having my pre-op tomorrow and the surgery on weds morning at Mass Eye and Ear. Will I ever be able to workout like I once did? Compete?
Avatar n tn Wrestling will put you at risk for anything that can be transmitted via skin-to-skin contact. Herpes (HSV-1 & HSV-2) can be contracted via wrestling due to the sweat and blood all coming in contact with bare skin. Transmission of Syphilis is also possible, as it is one of the few STDs that can be obtained through casual contact. Much of this risk can be avoided by cleaning the wrestling mats with disinfectant following each match.
