Avatar f tn strength training for CP really helps tremendously just wondering if anyone out there knows this? CP persons have bone growth that goes faster than muscle growth thus the curved foot etc so if you strengthen muscles they grow stronger and curved foot etc will straighten out plus walking becomes easier etc many great things .
Avatar n tn I just got into weight training but I dint know how to eat right. Can someone please guide me and show me a plan for teens or something.HELP.
Avatar f tn I exercise a lot and do competition karate. The other day we had a very intense training session and before the end, I started to feel very very uncomfortable down there. I wasnt on my period and it didnt exactly feel like a cramp it was a bit lower, a little different and also worse. After training I checked, and there was a small bleeding but it stopped, and the bad feeling also topped after about 30 minutes. I heard that some girls' hymens can snap or something, from vigorous exercise.
Avatar f tn send him outside SERIOUS martial arts training- will keep him interested in the protection of others and self defense- Get him in a karate school that teachers mottos that instill self discipline- fighting is DISCOURAGED- but a warrior mentality of protecting the innocent is encouraged. So this is not just physical, it teaches emotional and ethical integrity if you get in a good school---- so ask around- My son teaches Kung Fu.
1308443 tn?1302693321 My health teacher is the athletic director and has some medical training. Yesterday I told him about the popping and he said that it was a good thing. I already went to see the doctor and he told me it wasn't currently broken thatwas in January. When I told my teacher that I was told to squeeze a tennis ball he said it was the worst thing I could have done I had to agree because my finger did get worse. Is there anything I should be doing for it during karate?
20893158 tn?1579358911 s wise to alternate activities at least some, and getting some resistance training in as well and flexibility training can at least potentially reduce the costs of running. Peace.

Avatar m tn I'm a 44 year old female, 5'4" and weigh 160lbs. I'd like to weight 130lbs. I've been following Weight Watchers for 2 months, very faithfully, writing everything down, staying within my points range and I haven't lost a pound! Up 1lb. one week, down 1lb. the next week. This goes on week after week and I stay the same. I exercise my butt off at least 6 days a week for an hour or more a day. Cardio/weight training and Karate 3x a week.
Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
Avatar m tn I am 59 year old female, very healthy all my life except granulocytopenia at 11 and acute epstein-barr diagnosed in 1997 (3 years to 2000). Over the past 15 + years, I have been very active: karate, cross fit classes, weight and cardio training - very fit. The only flu I've had, even, was in August 2015. In November 2015 I recognized an ongoing, persistant fatigue, generally not feeling well. I gave up karate in January 2016 but continued my fitness classes & gym, as much as I could.

Now he wants to join music but his mother is not willing due to his study. Avatar m tn s getting to the point that I literally cannot miss a single training session. If I do the pain starts coming. It then only starts to go away after two or three training sessions. More info about the pain: It hurts when I look down, and it restricts my flexibility (it hurts to much to touch my toes). When it hurts I constantly move around because it relieves the pain (kind of like when you have to urinate) The pain feels almost like the growth pains that I use to get in my legs as a child.

Avatar f tn Finally, using good shoes (ideally compensating for individual foot differences) is important. The shin can be trained for greater static and dynamic flexibility through adaptation, which will diminish the contracting reflex, and allow the muscles to handle the rapid stretch. The key to this is to stretch the shins regularly. However, static stretching might not be enough. To adapt a muscle to rapid, eccentric contraction, it has to acquire greater dynamic flexibility as well.
Avatar f tn (I am 29 and exercise routinely with HIIT and strength training.). I have never had hip pain before, but I have had aches like this that have improved with rest and gradual return to my exercise routine. I exercised fine for about two weeks with that dull, intermittent pain in my hip. But for about a month now, my hip pain has become very severe. I have been unable to exercise or do much stretching at all. I even bought a cane to help me hobble around!
Avatar n tn They consist of stretching and holding different joint and muscle groups for 10 to 30 seconds each. Stretching improves flexibility, and daily stretching is the basis for any exercise program. Strength exercises involve working the muscle against resistance. This can be either with or without weights. Resistance training strengthens the muscle and increases the amount of activity you can do pain-free. Conditioning exercise, also called aerobic exercise, improves cardiovascular fitness.

Avatar f tn You should aim to loose body fat and build muscle. I really recommend weight training and a bit of cardio in what ever form you enjoy best. Whether its classes of karate, yoga, running, cycling etc. Do not "watch your calories" as most teenagers who begin counting calories become self destructive and i have never seen one teenager who started counting calories and didnt end up obsessive and loose their mind. Its a bad window.
Avatar m tn He believes all that is being told to him and I can’t figure out how he can get them without training the right way with the right exercises. I think that I am being a little cautious but I need you people to help me finding a good way to get the six packs he wants with some good ways. Thanks for taking time to read this and hope that you come up with some good suggestions.
Avatar m tn Ok so I think I may have ehlers Danlos. Selma perhaps you could give me some insight. 2 of my 3 daughters are hypermobile. I am not very but my wife is (although I show signs of eds). I have had Eds symptoms for over 12 years which I investigated neurologically instead of from a rheumatology. So all my tests always came back normal. I had an LP in 2008 which led to a spinal headache that would not go away for about 4 months. Possibly due to Eds lack of healing.
Avatar f tn I didn't feel any movements until I was 19 weeks & at first it was just flutters & then now its like karate chops lol
