Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility training gymnastics

Avatar m tn I'm a 27 year old male. I have returned to gymnastics after 3 years out and find that I get severe cramp in the arches of my feet. It seems to occur if I point my toes too hard and for long periods of time. My feet don't seem to be as flexible as they used to be as I used to have a much better toe point before. As I have to train in barefeet, I've also noticed that they can get quite cold sometimes. Can anyone help?
Avatar m tn Flexibility can come thru training as in gymnastics or dance...but those that r just a little better may also have EDS.....so, u have to get the testing....
Avatar m tn My 5 years old girl cries all the time especially in sports she is in the gymnastics team she has good body qualifications and flexibility her coach says she is not in pain as she plays since 3 years ago but it seems that she cries all the time while all her team mates are happy and comfy i feel so angry that i will make her quit because i had enough of everybody 's comments about her weird attitude also she gets emotional and cries in most of the frequent life situations the issue is should
Avatar n tn I just got into weight training but I dint know how to eat right. Can someone please guide me and show me a plan for teens or something.HELP.
Avatar f tn Hyper-stretching of her back and legs, to the extend a normal person cannot believe, is a part of her daily training. About two weeks ago, she started to complain a back pain. The pain was associated with an "electric" burning sensation in her both legs (pinching nerve). She has been staying away from the training since then. The pain subsided somewhat, but still, the lower back is tender in touch and she cannot bend either forward or backward.
Avatar m tn Maybe he should sign up for a sport like karate, wrestling, footballl, hockey, gymnastics, and more. I did gymnastics and it gave me the best looking abs EVER!
Avatar n tn My daughter is twelve years old and she is extremely flexible. She wants to go into contortionist training, so I called one school in Newton, Massachusetts. I was told my daughter had to be thirteen, because extreme back bending would damage her back little by little. I told her that she already was doing a chest stand and they told me that she shouldn't be doing any bending forward or backward until her spine is fully developed at the age of thirteen. I would like to know if this is true ?
Avatar f tn Lol @mamamcmurtry, it is true, I noticed that when I'm walking around, it doesn't move lol
20893158 tn?1579358911 s wise to alternate activities at least some, and getting some resistance training in as well and flexibility training can at least potentially reduce the costs of running. Peace.
Avatar f tn I feel the same way haha. I'm like holy cow he is doing gymnastics in my belly right now. Its crazy to me how strong an active he is already. Its amazing. But he does it most when I'm in bed trying to sleep so I'm up all night.
Avatar f tn I went to gymnastics a few days ago and hurt my pinky (on bars). I didn't think much of it at first and just ignored it. It's been a few days and it's barely any better. I wore a splint yesterday and today and started icing it. I can bend it more than I could before it but it still hurts. It’s a bit swollen and the skin around that area is a bit bluish green. What else can I do? I really want to go back to the gym tomorrow. Could it be broken?

Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
Avatar m tn s getting to the point that I literally cannot miss a single training session. If I do the pain starts coming. It then only starts to go away after two or three training sessions. More info about the pain: It hurts when I look down, and it restricts my flexibility (it hurts to much to touch my toes). When it hurts I constantly move around because it relieves the pain (kind of like when you have to urinate) The pain feels almost like the growth pains that I use to get in my legs as a child.
Avatar f tn so i went to my chiropractor and she thinks that i sprained it, so i laid off for a week and i thought it was all better so i went back to the gym and swung on the the gymnastics bar and all my pain came back! It also felt like my lower part of my back was seperating from my upper back. I keep going back to my chiroprator, and she just adjusts me and sometimes i get accupunture done on it. BUT THE PAIN WILL NOT GO AWAY!
Avatar f tn Finally, using good shoes (ideally compensating for individual foot differences) is important. The shin can be trained for greater static and dynamic flexibility through adaptation, which will diminish the contracting reflex, and allow the muscles to handle the rapid stretch. The key to this is to stretch the shins regularly. However, static stretching might not be enough. To adapt a muscle to rapid, eccentric contraction, it has to acquire greater dynamic flexibility as well.
8894496 tn?1400933529 I'm 24 weeks and my son feels like he's training to win the gold medal in gymnastics!
Avatar f tn (I am 29 and exercise routinely with HIIT and strength training.). I have never had hip pain before, but I have had aches like this that have improved with rest and gradual return to my exercise routine. I exercised fine for about two weeks with that dull, intermittent pain in my hip. But for about a month now, my hip pain has become very severe. I have been unable to exercise or do much stretching at all. I even bought a cane to help me hobble around!
Avatar n tn They consist of stretching and holding different joint and muscle groups for 10 to 30 seconds each. Stretching improves flexibility, and daily stretching is the basis for any exercise program. Strength exercises involve working the muscle against resistance. This can be either with or without weights. Resistance training strengthens the muscle and increases the amount of activity you can do pain-free. Conditioning exercise, also called aerobic exercise, improves cardiovascular fitness.

Avatar f tn So, for the past 3 and a half months I have been doing strength training three days a week and cardio kick-boxing twice a week for a total of 5 days a week, each for an hour. I eat healthy - no junk, no fast food, and lots of water. Only problem is my weight is exactly the same as it was on day one. What the heck?! It is SO discouraging to not see that number going down. What am I doing wrong?!?!?!?!
