Avatar n tn I'm kinda out in the boonies, no town large enough nearby to support having a gym. What I would love are some exercises to do at home....I don't really have equipment.
1651508 tn?1322141280 It's probably the equipment. When one is between two or more stages of healthy state, these things can happen. Try to build more tenacity and reflective flexibility for the helping part.

572651 tn?1530999357 ll be anxious to hear what you think of the weight training and equipment. I never had much upper body strength, but am getting better all the time. Feels so good and is a lift to your mood to be able to move and get those endorphins pumping!
20893158 tn?1579358911 s wise to alternate activities at least some, and getting some resistance training in as well and flexibility training can at least potentially reduce the costs of running. Peace.

649848 tn?1534633700 “The training center and others like it run by the Homeland Security Department use as many as 15 million rounds every year, mostly on shooting ranges and in training exercises.” At 15 million rounds (which, in itself, is pretty extraordinary and sounds more like fun target-shooting-at-taxpayer-expense than a sensible training exercise) … that’s a stockpile that would last DHS over a century.
Avatar f tn If you want best results watch what you eat. Find low cal food. Diet soda will not work. You also want to include resistance training as well. For me I do cardio, resistance training and diet. I have been loosing 1-3 lbs per week.

Avatar f tn Every other day focus on your cardiovascular exercises with bringing your heartrate up by jogging in place or knee lifts, jumping jacks, and other aerobic movements. On the opposite days, focus on strength training by targeting the stomach with crunches and sit ups, the thighs can be targeted by lunges, squats, and leg lifts. Repititions are key to each of these types of exercise. When you feel the burn, you're doing good!
Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
Avatar m tn About 7 weeks ago I was doing training with a group of people at work. After the training I was unpacking the equipment and I noticed that I had scraped my knuckle on my left hand on something. It was a small cracked skin area on my knuckle and it was bleeding a bit and I had some dried blood on the back of my hand. Needles to say I've been having anxiety and worry over this, of course i haven't been feeling great.
11717999 tn?1422521384 there are several transition videos on youtube of real people using waist training and the before and after results were amazing but it takes alot of focus to religiously wear that steel clamped equipment all day. Good luck.
Avatar n tn since Novrmber 9, with almost 4 months of consistent exercise including X country skiing, water aerobics, interval training, weight training , walking and running, and of course, eating better. I believe my success is due to changing up my exercise routine but keeping weight training as a constant 3 X a week and keeping a food journal using the my diet app. Learning how to make healthy smoothies and eating right throughout the day to keep blood sugar levels up has definitely helped.
Avatar m tn s getting to the point that I literally cannot miss a single training session. If I do the pain starts coming. It then only starts to go away after two or three training sessions. More info about the pain: It hurts when I look down, and it restricts my flexibility (it hurts to much to touch my toes). When it hurts I constantly move around because it relieves the pain (kind of like when you have to urinate) The pain feels almost like the growth pains that I use to get in my legs as a child.
Avatar m tn They develop individualized training programs incorporating strength and conditioning exercises, flexibility drills, plyometrics, and sport-specific skills training to enhance athletic performance while minimizing the risk of injuries.
1551655 tn?1294260921 If you wish to purchase hand weights or stretch bands to use at home, stores like Walmart in addition to Sports stores carry such equipment at very low costs. Yard sales are an excellent source of used exercise equipment! Have fun with exercise, if possible, so that you will look forward to it! Cheap DVD's (or old used video tapes) are also available, at a very low cost.
Avatar f tn Finally, using good shoes (ideally compensating for individual foot differences) is important. The shin can be trained for greater static and dynamic flexibility through adaptation, which will diminish the contracting reflex, and allow the muscles to handle the rapid stretch. The key to this is to stretch the shins regularly. However, static stretching might not be enough. To adapt a muscle to rapid, eccentric contraction, it has to acquire greater dynamic flexibility as well.
Avatar f tn I go to LA fitness but I also have equipment at home. It would be fun to have some group sessions. I currently work out 5 times per week and my schedule is pretty flexible.
Avatar f tn (I am 29 and exercise routinely with HIIT and strength training.). I have never had hip pain before, but I have had aches like this that have improved with rest and gradual return to my exercise routine. I exercised fine for about two weeks with that dull, intermittent pain in my hip. But for about a month now, my hip pain has become very severe. I have been unable to exercise or do much stretching at all. I even bought a cane to help me hobble around!
Avatar n tn They consist of stretching and holding different joint and muscle groups for 10 to 30 seconds each. Stretching improves flexibility, and daily stretching is the basis for any exercise program. Strength exercises involve working the muscle against resistance. This can be either with or without weights. Resistance training strengthens the muscle and increases the amount of activity you can do pain-free. Conditioning exercise, also called aerobic exercise, improves cardiovascular fitness.

Avatar f tn I think physiotherapists would come up with some training and suggestions, they are very good at that kind of thing. They showed my wife some great techniques for getting up after she suffered a stroke and made it look so easy. The six weeks is actually a rule of thumb and not a rigid recovery time for every individual. Some can take a week less, some can take weeks longer.
953033 tn?1246564745 After I had lost around 56 pounds, I DID add other forms of exercise PLUS strength training. BUT, I *SO* regret that I am NOT walking more because my hips were slimmer when I was walking more. I went on to lose 70 lbs. KEEP WALKING! It is the best form of exercise for someone with a neck and back injury.... You might also look into water exercise. It is not only gentle on your joints, it is GREAT! SO glad to see you here and SO GLAD you asked. Hang in there!
Avatar f tn Or a non-MD, non-physician optometrist? If the latter I would instead see an ophthalmologist as their training, equipment and experience is much greater. In the long run you may save yourself a lot of time and money. Glaucoma at your age is unusual. If you don't know an Eye MD your family physician can usually refer you to one.
