Think of it as diet strips the fat & exercise builds the muscle. I recommend hiring a PT that's experienced with building bodies to have you onto a minimum 12week full body program, to have you seeing real results. Michael Matthews books are very informative, I recommend getting one (can download as an Ebook) & reading up.

Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.

Avatar m tn s getting to the point that I literally cannot miss a single training session. If I do the pain starts coming. It then only starts to go away after two or three training sessions. More info about the pain: It hurts when I look down, and it restricts my flexibility (it hurts to much to touch my toes). When it hurts I constantly move around because it relieves the pain (kind of like when you have to urinate) The pain feels almost like the growth pains that I use to get in my legs as a child.

I authored a parenting ebook that deals with feeding schedules, getting your baby to sleep through the night early on, boundaries, etc. I wrote it as something you would do from the day the baby was born. However, if you apply the principles now, it is possible your child would be sleeping through the night by his first birthday.
Avatar n tn I had my gallbladder removed about 6 years ago and I was going at least 6 to 12 times a day and when I had to go I had to go now! Very urgent. I went to my family doc and he said I needed to bulk up with fiber. I didn't think that would help but I tried it. Tried a lot of things that didn't work. I then tried Cholestyramine. That helped with the urgency but I was still going 5 to 8 times a day.

The shin can be trained for greater static and dynamic flexibility through adaptation, which will diminish the contracting reflex, and allow the muscles to handle the rapid stretch. The key to this is to stretch the shins regularly. However, static stretching might not be enough. To adapt a muscle to rapid, eccentric contraction, it has to acquire greater dynamic flexibility as well.

I have never had hip pain before, but I have had aches like this that have improved with rest and gradual return to my exercise routine. I exercised fine for about two weeks with that dull, intermittent pain in my hip. But for about a month now, my hip pain has become very severe. I have been unable to exercise or do much stretching at all. I even bought a cane to help me hobble around!

Stretching improves flexibility, and daily stretching is the basis for any exercise program. Strength exercises involve working the muscle against resistance. This can be either with or without weights. Resistance training strengthens the muscle and increases the amount of activity you can do pain-free. Conditioning exercise, also called aerobic exercise, improves cardiovascular fitness.
Avatar m tn pt did evaluation and said he has two postions on lower pack where the five nerves are not moving property down the leg....my son has little to no flexibility in his hips/legs and is suffering spasms and pin needle pain/ numbness in legs and all threw back...this has not been diagnosed by a doc just the pt and he is telling me after a month of therapy is he still having pain maybehe will need more extensive xrays...doesnt the doc give the pt instructions...

It's a difficult site to maneuver and not easy to understand. Mac users be aware. Now that chuparosa says it's based on EFT, I'm no longer interested in it since there are plenty of books and info on EFT. Thanks.

Avatar f tn I finally had a friend who used to suffers bad breath, tell me about an eBook he bought 5 or 6 months ago he ask me how his breath smelt and I didn’t smell a thing. He said the eBook amongst much else had him stop eating dairy food/ soft drinks and coffee/tea. It covers every possible cause and provides the cure for each cause. So I’m like reading it and doing all the stuff it says to do. Thinking this has to be bull. But after a few days my tongue started turning red and felt nice.
Avatar m tn Ok so I think I may have ehlers Danlos. Selma perhaps you could give me some insight. 2 of my 3 daughters are hypermobile. I am not very but my wife is (although I show signs of eds). I have had Eds symptoms for over 12 years which I investigated neurologically instead of from a rheumatology. So all my tests always came back normal. I had an LP in 2008 which led to a spinal headache that would not go away for about 4 months. Possibly due to Eds lack of healing.
Avatar f tn My son had trouble with toilet training in a similar way. He would sit on the toilet for an hour and not be able to "go". This problem worsened during the school year, both because he did not like to use the school bathrooms, and because if he had to go at an "inappropriate" time, the teachers would not allow it, insisting that the 20 minute recess and the 40 minute lunch break were adequate opportunities. This contributed to a severe constipation problem.
Avatar m tn I am a 28 yr. old male. I am overweight at 270 lbs. I am working out with a trainer 2x a week, and I go running in between training sessions. I haven't run in the past couple of weeks, but trained very hard, and my average training heart rate for the hour I work out is around 138-143ish. I've reduced my body fat from 31% to 25% in a little less than a month. Today, I got on the treadclimber for the first time in about 4 weeks. I went over, got on the treadclimber.
Avatar n tn I would first advise that if doing push-ups hurts this much stop doing them, for now. A question would be, did you notice when this first occurred and what you were doing? You could have an injury that just needs some time to heal. It's hard to see why having wrists that aren't that flexible would lead to pain.
