Avatar n tn I just got into weight training but I dint know how to eat right. Can someone please guide me and show me a plan for teens or something.HELP.
Avatar n tn My son was 4 1/2 when he was finally potty trained. I know how you feel with everyone breathing down your neck. I have found that sitting him down at certain times does help, accompanied with a treat just for trying, or maybe a bigger treat for actually doing it. It doesn't have to be candy, it can also be playing his favorite game with you or going somewhere he wanted to go or getting ice cream, whatever. Of course the going places would be if he at least tries for a whole day.
Avatar f tn Keep a few favorite toys or books which the child can have access to while he is seated on the toilet. Music can be very helpful. Don’t be forceful. Potty training a child with special needs can be really very time consuming, laborious and frustrating. But once he’s potty trained it justifies everything. Do consult a local Pediatrician in case there is any difficulty. Hope it helps. Best luck!
20893158 tn?1579358911 s wise to alternate activities at least some, and getting some resistance training in as well and flexibility training can at least potentially reduce the costs of running. Peace.
Avatar f tn Buy these two books by Mitchell T. Yass Overpower Pain and Pain Cure RX. First talk to your Dr. and ask if it's OK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1kiOsbU-YM&feature=youtu.be You should do Adduction and Abduction exercises. You also need to do glute exercises. Hip extensions can strengthen your hamstring muscles. Position yourself on your stomach with your legs fully extended behind you. Slowly raise one of your legs at your hip while keeping your knee straight.
676912 tn?1332812551 We've got a potty for DS. He just turned 18 months, and he's waking up dry, no BM's at night, and he pulls off his pants and diaper when wet. I'm pretty sure he's ready to start trying out the potty but I'm not sure what to use to help with it...I found a website that has different "help out" items, i.e. books, videos...so for those of you who have/are potty training boys...what helps?
11119474 tn?1428702170 I too am working on training my 15 month golden retriever Baxter for a service buddy. He is very smart. I am using some books that Alex recommended to help me with the training.

1807614 tn?1316318253 Get one or two good books from the library on the subject of potty training. Leave him alone for now about whether he is hiding when he wants to poop -- that is VERY common ... a friend's son always stood behind the sofa, and my son had a big toy school bus that he would go stand in when he felt the urge. This was at least a year before he showed an interest in actually pooping in the toilet.
791533 tn?1309745344 t had a dog since I was an adult. When I got a cat as a grown up I books to learn how to properly take care of our cat. I'm having a lot of trouble finding the right books for my dog RikiTiki because he a mix. And he does bear the features of both. He is VERY hyper yet doesn't bark much. I just want to do right by him.
667078 tn?1316000935 Hey Alex, good on you that sounds great! I will be interested in reading the final copy. I'm sure it will help many people. I would love any information or recommended books on training a puppy when you're disabled because I have a 7 month old pup after my little boy passed away recently & as I can't get on the ground I'm finding it hard. I also have some speech issues so this is challenging as well when trying to communicate with a pup.
Avatar f tn I did not ask for information on training and I think the 6 books and videos I have will do just fine.
Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
2020496 tn?1330236084 In the meantime, get one of the good books on potty training from the library or bookstore and read it. They are full of good ideas.
Avatar f tn There must be some videos and books/pictures out there that you can use to explain to him explicitly what is expected of him. Some children need to know what happens when the toilet is flushed and need the whole sewage system explaining to them. Some children, who have sensory issues, may not even feel internal sensations such as the urge to go to the toilet, or they don't feel thirsty, or hungry etc. If you don't feel the urge, how can you go to the toilet? etc etc.
Avatar m tn s getting to the point that I literally cannot miss a single training session. If I do the pain starts coming. It then only starts to go away after two or three training sessions. More info about the pain: It hurts when I look down, and it restricts my flexibility (it hurts to much to touch my toes). When it hurts I constantly move around because it relieves the pain (kind of like when you have to urinate) The pain feels almost like the growth pains that I use to get in my legs as a child.
Avatar f tn If you like reading, you could also go to the library and check out baby books, or just fun fiction books to read.
Avatar f tn dog training is actually all about training the humans!) I can highly recommend any of the books by Cesar Millan, The Dog Whisperer. They're very easy to understand, and you can immediately begin using his techniques. You will learn to understand how dogs communicate with one another and recognize exactly what it is that scares your shepherd. Once you recognize the problem, you can help her overcome it. It is so much fun to learn how to "speak dog".
7758733 tn?1402589420 Any suggestions/experiences on the best way to begin introducing potty training. My son is only 16months but extremely smart,I think it's never too early to start. Just don't know where to begin. I know not to expect too much from a 16 month old but just tryna get our feet in the door!
Avatar f tn Finally, using good shoes (ideally compensating for individual foot differences) is important. The shin can be trained for greater static and dynamic flexibility through adaptation, which will diminish the contracting reflex, and allow the muscles to handle the rapid stretch. The key to this is to stretch the shins regularly. However, static stretching might not be enough. To adapt a muscle to rapid, eccentric contraction, it has to acquire greater dynamic flexibility as well.
Avatar f tn (I am 29 and exercise routinely with HIIT and strength training.). I have never had hip pain before, but I have had aches like this that have improved with rest and gradual return to my exercise routine. I exercised fine for about two weeks with that dull, intermittent pain in my hip. But for about a month now, my hip pain has become very severe. I have been unable to exercise or do much stretching at all. I even bought a cane to help me hobble around!
Avatar n tn They consist of stretching and holding different joint and muscle groups for 10 to 30 seconds each. Stretching improves flexibility, and daily stretching is the basis for any exercise program. Strength exercises involve working the muscle against resistance. This can be either with or without weights. Resistance training strengthens the muscle and increases the amount of activity you can do pain-free. Conditioning exercise, also called aerobic exercise, improves cardiovascular fitness.

Avatar n tn I recently moved in with a roommate who has a 3 yr old son. I see her struggling with many aspects of raising her first child. One issue that seems to stick out in my mind is his potty training. It's not happening. Period. He is in pull-ups. There is a small potty sitting in the spare bathroom, collecting dust. I have been living with her for a month now. I stay at home all day with her while our husbands work and I have never once heard her ask him if he needed to use the potty.
