Avatar n tn I have a bulging L5 - S1 that has been causing problems for just over a year now. I've had 4 epidurals, and have been taking pain pills daily. About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).

Avatar n tn In cerebral palsy, the adductor muscles sometimes tighten up and some have surgery to cut them. Swimming is a non-surgical option that helps flexibility.
Avatar n tn If you have any history of allergies, any recent application of creams or lotions on the face, then this may be case of allergic contact dermatitis. A microscopic valuation of the scales or flakes may be able to help ascertain the diagnosis. A KOH examination may help ascertain if a fungal infection is present. Have you tried using topical corticosteroids on the area?
214105 tn?1265935159 The doctors said that the bones are pretty well aligned so non-surgical treatment is definitely an option but that surgery would speed the recovery and ensure correct healing. In reading about it, it seems that non-surgical treatment results in about a 9degree deformity. My question is what are the ramifications of that deformity? Does your arm look bent? Do you lose flexibility or range of motion?
910435 tn?1296748610 Well, without a clinical valuation it would be difficult to re-assess a re-tear, though it would present as increased weakness or deterioration of the improvement made so far. Post surgical healing usually takes around a few weeks-months. The clicking and popping could be from other issues as well, while pain is a non-specific sign. If the pain continues or if you observe additional weakness, I would suggest an evaluation by your treating orthopedician for appropriate management.
Avatar f tn It would be best to speak to a child psychiatrist who is knowledgable in the field. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one effective option in addition to medication.
968857 tn?1247600450 Yoga will help you build core strength and improve your flexibility (and can really make you sweat!), whereas plyometrics is a bit higher impact, and involves taking steps, doing lunges, and even jumping around. Both are a lot of fun and are available in exercise DVD's that you can find online. Take care!
Avatar m tn If the periods are delayed by more than 2-3 months, she would need to be seen by a gynaecologist for a detailed valuation to consider the possibilities. After a cause is identified it can be managed accordingly. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn You probably tore something as you turned over in bed. See the doctor for a valuation but then ask him to refer you to a physiotherapist or a chiropractor.
1609697 tn?1301069399 s just no way to live. Taking the paycut seems like the best option for you. Is there any option to transfer to a different location where maybe management would be hopefully more understanding. Check out this link from MSNBC that talks about this specific issue. You may find it helpful http://www.msnbc.msn.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
Avatar m tn The overlying skin is red and inflamed and warm, there is tenderness along the vein, pain in the limb and hardening of the vein. Consult your physician for a clinical valuation confirmed with Doppler ultrasound. The IV catheter needs to be removed and tip sent for blood cultures to check for any infection. Try putting a warm compress, elevating the limb and over the counter painkillers. Usually this should improve the pain and swelling. Wishing you all the best.
Avatar f tn Switching to a low/no impact exercise such as swimming, elliptical or ski machine might be a good option, (swimming would probably be the best if available). Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I'm glad to hear that the baby is healthy. Are you going to keep the baby? If you don't feel ready or for any other reason, you can look into adoption. It's a great option to think about and look into, as it benefits everyone involved. Are you working right now? If you are not, then you need to look for a job asap to support yourself and your baby. You can't rely on your parents or the baby's dad to make it all work. Is the father still involved? Are you going to school?
700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.
510018 tn?1210966173 Rehabilitation typically includes exercises to help correct your posture, strengthen the muscles supporting your back and improve your flexibility. Your doctor will have you start physical therapy, exercise or both as early as possible. It's the cornerstone of your treatment program and should become part of your permanent routine at home. Prescription drugs. In some cases, your doctor may prescribe an anti-inflammatory medication along with a muscle relaxant.
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar m tn If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!
