Avatar n tn There is no known relation of Fibromyalgia to the disc or vertebral column problems or in other words , Fibromyalgia is not known as the cause of vertebral column problems .Though fibromyalgia does aggravate the pain caused by disc problems .. Please consult a neurologist for the treatment of the disc problems . Physiotherapy will help you for the back problem as well as Fibromyalgia .
1768519 tn?1313814475 My MRI results for lumbar FINDINGS..... Alignment and bony structures. There fatty intensity focus at L3 consistent with hemangioma. Fairly well defined non fatty lesion at T12 to left reaching the end-plate and roughly 17mm in diameter.. Vertebral heights are maintained with intravertebral end plate herniation's T11 through L5... IMPRESSION.... Disc space narrowing at each level T3 through L3 with intravertebral end plate herniation's and desiccation.
Avatar n tn signal alteration of D4 vertebra with involvement of the intervening D4-5 disc with pre and bilateral Para vertebral collection at D3 to D5 level with anterior epidural collection at D3 to D5 level resulting in moderate extramural compression with mediastinal lympadenopathy with other findings as described? Caries.
368646 tn?1208393887 Where in the body should cervical nerves go after coming-off the spinal column? Mine have been near the front ofmy neck and also near the back of my neck (by the shoulder) in the same area as the vertebral artery. Please help for I'm very confused and thier current placement seems to be causing problems. Thank you!!
Avatar m tn You could have an associated nerve impingement at the vertebral column. Maybe a MRI of the affected level of the vertebral column will throw some light. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and retrograde ejaculation are other possibilities. In men, the most common source of the infection is the prostate gland (prostatitis). Pain in testicle could be due to infection, like prostatitis, epididymitis or orchitis. Get a culture sensitivity test for both semen and urine done.
Avatar m tn There is 9 mm anterolisthesis of L5 on S1. Bilateral pars interarticularis defects are noted. T12 hemangioma L1-L2: No disc herniation, spinal, or foraminal stenosis. L2-L3: No disc herniation, spinal, or foraminal stenosis. L3-L4: No disc herniation, spinal, or foraminal stenosis. L4-L5: Mild disc desiccation, ligamentous, and facet hypertrophy. No disc herniation, spinal, or significant foraminal stenosis. L5-S1: Bilateral facet hypertrophy. Pars interarticularis defects.
Avatar f tn s spine is curved from side to side, and may also be rotated. In your case, Dextroscoliosis is a scoliosis with the curvature of the spinal column on the right side. Scoliosis can be classified as congenital (caused by vertebral anomalies present at birth), idiopathic (sub-classified as infantile, juvenile, adolescent, or adult according to when onset occurred) or as having developed as a secondary symptom of another condition. You can read more about this on this link: http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn The vibration sensation in your lower lumbar portion could be due to any sort of prolapsed disc or sprue over the lumbar vertebral region and you may get such type of abnormal feeling around your back portion. You could have sustained a nerve injury mostly sciatic nerve, which could cause vibration sensation, in the hip. MRI spine also needs to be done to check for any degenerative disc disease.
Avatar m tn The lack of motor innervation can really cause the muscles the nerve supplies to shrink or atrophy. The first sign of these events may be weakness of the involved muscle group. The condition of the vertebral column should be assessed to rule out extrinsic compression. This can be done through an MRI of the spine. The MRI may also demonstrate if there is a primary nerve problem. I suggest you discuss all of these options with your doctors. Regards and God bless.
Avatar f tn The sagittal noncontrast images of the cervical spine show a normal spinal column without signs of sbluxation. There is a focal area of annular signal change at the C5-C6 level with extruded disc cephalad over the posterior limbus of C5 vertebral body. No significant effacement of the cord is noted. Posterior elements are intact. No facet subluxation is noted. The sagittal IR sequence shows no reparative endplate changes in the vertebral body.
Avatar n tn vertebral body, associated with retropusion of the posterior vertebral margin. There is a subacute intraspinal hematoma [probably epidural in location] within the left side of the t4 spinal canal. The combination of these finding causes rightward displacement and moderate compression of the spinal cord at t4 level The adjacent t5 vertebral body demonstrates bone marrow edema, which may be secondary to bone contusion. No evidence of spondylolisthesis or facet dislocation is noted.
Avatar n tn Because of the accident that you have had, the injury or dislocation of the vertebral column may be causing compression of the spinal nerves leading to the symptoms of loss of balance and numbness. Decompression of nerves may relieve the symptoms. Please consult a neurosurgeon or spine surgeon for the examination, diagnosis and treatment. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
Avatar f tn Other than this could be due to nerve injury in the neck, or a vertebral column injury or de to high blood pressure (again this can be due to stress) or TMJ aggravated by shaking. It can also be due to the internal balance organs in the ear losing balance due to shaking. Please consult your gynecologist and also a physician and get this assessed as soon as possible. Take care!
Avatar m tn You have a vertebral column from neck to coccyx. You have cervical nerves from the neck supplying your upper body and upper limbs like that the lumbar vertebra have spinal nerves which supply your legs. So when you have surgeries, these nerves are disturbed, or while nerve regeneration you have these symptoms. Your symptoms have to dissapear after rigorous Physiotherapy for couple of months if not the Surgeon will explain why that nerve root is getting excited so you are having pain in the leg.
Avatar n tn Because the spinal cord is shorter than the spinal column, the spinal cord ends at the level of the L2 vertebral body. In some people, as the spinal column grows, if a part of the end part of the nerves called the filum terminale is abnormally thickened for whatever reason the conus becomes tethered (stuck), and traction is placed on the spinal cord and conus. This is often what is meant by tethered cord, though the term is also used for other abnormalities more non-specifically.
Avatar f tn The signal intensity from the cervical vertebral bodies is normal. There is some degree of desiccation of all of the cervical discs with some slight anterior disc bulging at the c5-c6 level. Best appreciated on axial images is a slight central posterior protrusion of the c4-c5 disc.
Avatar f tn But after years I´ve now discoverred severe problems in my vertebral column that could also explain this, however I´m having an idea that this may cause my adhd. I can give you the following example: Happy, happy, happy! Off to the mall, still happy, but after an hour or so I start getting irritated, people annoy me when they get to close, getting angry, unpolite and so on... May also tell them off in various ways, and none of them very polite......
Avatar m tn Spondylolisthesis describes the anterior displacement of a vertebra or the vertebral column in relation to the vertebrae below.Typical physical changes that occur in an individual with spondylolisthesis will be a general stiffening of the back and a tightening of the hamstrings, with a resulting change in both posture and gait.
703358 tn?1245012695 However your problems could be due to generalized spondylitis of the vertebral column. Due to the spondylitic changes, the nerves get compressed causing shooting pain along the line of their innervation. It could also be due to excessive muscular exercises like lifting and shifting weights or heavy things. At times wrong posture or exposure to cool air like AC or cooler too causes similar problem. You should consult an orthopedic specialist.
4163447 tn?1351260845 ve been having this unusual feeling precisely at the base of my skull at the extreme right side, an inch away from my right ear maybe, but away from the vertebral column. It started off as a feeling of discomfort but has grown into a source of continuous pain. I tried some exercises for the neck, but the pain didn't go away. Whether I exercise or rest does not help it improve.
1534233 tn?1523388856 Hello, It can be due to the large muscle (trapezius) and underlying smaller muscles that have gone into spasm or compression of the nerves supplying that area because of any underlying pathology of the vertebral column. So this also needs to be evaluated. Apply warm compresses and some topical muscle relaxants and take some anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen after consulting your doctor.
Avatar f tn Your headache description can fit into 'cervicogenic headache' (vertebral column and structures thereto causing headache), especially since your neck and upper back hurt. See if some particular position of head and neck while lying down helps. Try to remember how the pain started. Or what do you think is the cause of the headache, neck and back pain. A neuro will be able to find out if your neck is causing the problem.
Avatar m tn If the symptoms have developed post a traumatic accident, possibilities that may need to be considered include fractures/ mal-union, dislocation, nerve compassion, degenerative diseases involving the vertebral column etc. At times vascular issues could present similarly. It would be difficult to decide prior to a physical examination if an MRI would help with the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn It is conceivable that certain positions that you sleep in might in one way or another cause pressure on that nerve, leading to the numbness sensation you have been experiencing. The nerves exit the spinal column at each vertebral level (under or above the vertebral bones). They exit through small holes, and they may be pressed on by various processes such as arthritis, herniated discs, etc. Positioning of your neck in certain areas may be increasing compression on a nerve.
Avatar m tn Right-sided HNP 4mm in AP dimension mildly effacing the right hemicord. The remaining thoracic discs appear unremarkable without evidence of compressive discopathy or central canal stenosis or foraminal stenosis. Lumbar Spine - Transitional vertebra in interpreted as L5 with a vestigial disc at L5-S1. If any surgical intervention is contemplated, careful correlation with this exam, intraoperative fluoroscopy and plain films is recommended to ensure intervention at the correct disc leel.
