Avatar n tn Last week heard pop in back of heel. Can bear weight for so long then ankle gets swollen with heel pain and tight calf muscle. Any suggestion what this might be? When i flex foot down popping in heel happens.
Avatar m tn Working with a chiropractor, I got a hip flexor malady adjusted; the PT said I needed to work on flexibility. My left leg kind of 'hangs/float' and doesn't extend out normally. I feel it even when I'm walking. The odd part is that I can't really self-correct it with mental striving. I'm thinking it's more than just bad flexibility - wondering if I'm not really neurologically talking to my lower leg?
562634 tn?1216180532 My left leg feels weak and consequently, I also have weakness in my right leg I have no strength in my left arm and I cannot grip with my left hand. The fingers on my left hand are curling in a sort of claw shape and there’s little flexibility, or grip. Also my left arm pulsates and twitches and my right arm has started doing that also. Recently my upper legs, just above the knee, are twitching as well and I have also felt twitches on my buttocks and shoulders.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar f tn t the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.

700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.
Avatar n tn I have a bulging L5 - S1 that has been causing problems for just over a year now. I've had 4 epidurals, and have been taking pain pills daily. About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).
Avatar n tn 85 You are not too old to increase your strength, flexibility endurance or efficiency. In fact, since you are so out of shape-it will be more likely that you will have a steep curve of improvement with some concerted effort. Avatar f tn Do any of you have these other issues with your body. - Extreme flexibility, ( particularly when you were younger, you could do all kinds of "tricks") Very soft skin, people often comment how soft your skin is, often touching. Your skin can be "stretchy" or doughy. When you stand and look at the side of your feet down by the bottom you have little white dots that feel like small peas under your skin.
Avatar m tn I have been to quite a few sports medicine doctors, and they have mostly told me the same thing, that I need to work on flexibility and strengthening of the VMO - However, even with aggressive PT and dedication these problems never seem to go away. So any other suggestions will be much appreciated, and thanks in advance to everyone!
Avatar n tn I had problems with the elbow in terms of mobility and pain for a couple of years, but from when I was about 20 until just recently it has been fine, apart from cracking noises now and then when I stretched it out. During these years I have been working out - push-ups, arm curls etc. Last summer (2017) I started with pull-ups and chin-ups and in late August I started to notice pain in the elbow. One morning I woke up and could only bend my arm halfway to the shoulder.
Avatar f tn I had never got the epidural for any of my 3 pregnancy. Now I'm thinking of getting it I would like to enjoy giving birth to my bby. Should I or not ??? What do you all think.
Avatar m tn A friend of mine has times of memory loss, irrational thinking processes, loss of motor skills and the reasoning skills. This does not happen all the time but when it does his lack of speech, and the other problems listed are very apparent. He does not loosed bladder control when this state happens. He also looses the sense of his surroundings and is very much focused on achieving on task is he is trying to perform some sort of task.
667078 tn?1316000935 s a lot of research about the negative effects of smoking on MS, too, and, of course, smoking is not good for cardiovascular health, either. As far as helping with CCSVI goes, that's less clear. Interestingly, the woman (Joan or Cheerleader) who has probably done the most to promote CCSVI in North America, got interested in Zamboni's research because of her interest in the relationship between vascular health and MS.
1115572 tn?1258804496 Seroquel is the only anti-psychotic with the risk of causing cataracts. There are of course other options. As for antipsychotics they can cause diabetes but that can be managed with a proper diet. You may have acquired cataracts from another cause than the Seroquel but if you did its not from the onset of diabetes. Its a seperate cause and there are many other antipsychotics, the 3 newest with the least risk of weight gain being Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris.
Avatar m tn There is a bit of flexibility in the results anyway. They can each be off a percentage of a point or so and still be essentially the same reading. Don't worry.
Avatar n tn my friend has been having problems walking and can't run. She has been diagnosed with spina bifida and cerebral palsy and she is only 20 years old. She has been complaining of having trouble walking, and can't run. She has been getting all kinds of tests done and having blood taken and they can't find out what's wrong with her. Is this happening because of her diagnosis? Why can't they give her any answers? Anyone experience anything like this before?
Avatar m tn ve been diligent with my physical therapy and I have full flexibility in the leg. I can bend the leg at the knee and I can fully extend it. I can put weight on the leg and the doctor no longer requires me to wear the surgical boot. I still need to use a cane or crutches to get around. How long does it take for the tibia fracture to fully heal, and is there anything I can do to quicken the healing process on my own other than exercises and physical therapy? Thank you.
Avatar m tn is it normal for the left side of the cervix to be longer than the right side? both sides feel smooth, but just the left side is longer...
Avatar m tn At first it was believed that problems with urination were due to an obstruction at the bladderneck. In 1995 at the age of 30, I had a T'URP and resection of the bladderneck. Later after a urodynamics test, I was found to have a neurogenic bladder. The Flomax worked for me to enable me to urinate during the day. I also used self catheterization to ensure that my bladder was empty. Without the Flomax, I will only be able to urinate by using a catheter.
Avatar f tn Thanks for replying. I'll check with my doctor's office. I'm scheduled to have 4 rounds of cytoxan and taxotere. Hopefully I'll have a pretty decent time of it!
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar f tn ve recently tried drinking electrolyte powder thinking my stiffness and spasms were caused by lack of electrolytes, but that is not helping! The tightness in my quads does not feel right, it feels like a tingly kind of tightness and I felt some sharper pains in the quadriceps muscle closer to my hips while I was trying to walk with them when they were very weak and tight.
