Flexibility measurements

Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility measurements

flexibility

Avatar m tn I visited my hospital for physiotherapy yesterday where the physiotherapist takes measurements of the flexibility and movement of the wrist she informs me that the movement is worse and each measurement has dropped by 10 degrees. My thumb is numb and my hand is permanently turned to the left instead of being straight. Also the pain is now unbearable and much to my dismay I have now had to revert to taking painkillers again.
5528454 tn?1384292552 @Penguins, ya its kind of irritating, but my lmp and one scan say the 4th, but my first scan says and some of my measurements say the 13th. My son came two weeks early when he was born so my midwife says they want to keep both dates on my charts cause it gives us more flexibility for this baby coming early or late, which is nice on one hand cause i want to deliver at a birth center and you have to be between a certain number of weeks to deliver there...but it does get frustrating lol.
Avatar m tn While doing the echo and also after finishing it, the doctor who was reading the measurements out to the assistant told me that my readings were absolutely fine. In the report also, everything was fine except the last line which was like : normal systolic function diastolic dysfunction. I am really worried about this, I read about DD in the net and I dont have any shortness of breath, fatigue, chest pain etc...except very ocassional lightheadedness (esp after heavy work outs).
Avatar f tn The measurements of your belly helps the doctor know if you have a big or small baby without having to do an ultrasound.
Avatar n tn t worry. Based on my LMP, I was supposed to be 10w+6,bur when they did his measurements, he only measured 8w+6. Now I'm 24w+4 and my little man is doing great. He's still measuring right around where he measured in the first ultrasound. So, my doc thinks I just ovulated two weeks later than expected. It's most likely not an issue.
Avatar f tn As the baby gets bigger measurements normally stop being as acurate... My daughter had stopped growing but because the ultrasound was a guess the figured she was going to be a nice 7 pounds...
Avatar f tn Im 39 weeks and ultrasound was done to see how big baby is, due to my first child being over 8lbs. The femur measured 68mm and humerus 60mm. Weighing in at 6lbs 9 oz. just worries me because the measurements show below the 10th percentile. I am 5'4 and dad 5'10, may just be genetics.. ? Dr says he's just short legged, he's not said he was worried. I had downs testing done early on and everything is negative. Any one else know anything about this?
Avatar f tn It was the tape measure on the tummy, and i feel sooo informed now this all makes soo mich sense!
Avatar f tn Is it a good sign or a bad sign when the doc tells you the ultrasound results for your thyroid aren't in yet because the person interpreting the results are still doing "measurements". I didn't bother to ask what that meant or how much longer it would take, but the doc made it sound like I have nothing to worry about. I had the US done about a week and a half ago. Shouldn't the results be in yet? What could be taking so long and what exactly are "measurements"?
1853042 tn?1391546444 Biopsy scheduled for Fri. I know this might sound kind of silly but I would like to know how those measurements are taken. Anyone know? Not sure if I should be freaked out or not. I will be 51 this Saturday, not an ideal birthday present huh.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
