About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).

Avatar f tn What about yoga and increasing your flexibility? I have noticed when I stretch and do my yoga first that my back problems are much easier to deal with while working out. What about acupuncture? I did this with my second pregnancy for my migraines and morning sickness. I'm just starting to lose my pregnancy weight from my third child who was a csection 15 months ago but I had some complications that hendered my weight loss but those are getting under control now slowly and surely.
Avatar f tn If you don't want to spend too much money then hook up with a personal trainer at your local rec center that should only set you back about $40. Have them show you things you can do from home without equipment. You might even be able to youtube a few for free.
Avatar n tn When serious the growth of the wall restricts chamber size decreasing filling space so the volume of blood pumped into circulation is diminished and with thickening of the wall there is some loss of contractility due to the loss of flexibility and pumping is impaired resulting in less blood output with each heartbeat. The system compensates by increasing heart rate, etc.. Worst case scenario. Apparently your condition is mild and pumping (systolic function) is normal.

This does not happen all the time but when it does his lack of speech, and the other problems listed are very apparent. He does not loosed bladder control when this state happens. He also looses the sense of his surroundings and is very much focused on achieving on task is he is trying to perform some sort of task.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar m tn I've had a chronic back issue (loss of flexibility, stiffness and sciatic symptoms on the mild side for 20 years. 60 year old now and for the last 3 years pain in both legs has elevated. Mostly feels not stabbing pain, but chronic low grade muscular symtoms but also sciatic in the right buttocks; flickering discomfort symptoms in up left thigh side and front and lower left calf. Its not burning sensations, but like a fatigue with warm feeling.

My blood presure is 102/69 my cholesterol was 108 and my weight 113 for 5'6. I walk 3 times a day at a brisk pace. I am considering following up with the stress test.

700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.

I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar m tn If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!
Avatar n tn t think it will accelarate presbyopia as that is a function of loss of lens flexibility that comes with age and relaxing the muscles of accomodation should not speed this up.
Avatar m tn But I wondered if any other tall people could give tips on actual fat loss...obviously bellly is the main place and last place to go. I don't need to be stronger as I already use nearly every machine in the gym to max weight, and do other body weight exercises for flexibility strength. The often quoted "eat 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight" seems too much as I would be taking in over 200g eachday.

Youre target heart range after you have been cleared is (220-your age) x .85 You are not too old to increase your strength, flexibility endurance or efficiency. In fact, since you are so out of shape-it will be more likely that you will have a steep curve of improvement with some concerted effort.
Avatar f tn I'd recommend against eliminating fat from your diet. There are lots of healthy fats out there from things like fish and nuts that reduce your cardiovascular risk. These fats do have calories, but research suggests that consuming more of these healthy fats will tend to keep people fuller for longer, and ultimately promote weight loss by limiting intake of high carb treats. I remember in the early 1990's when there was a big swing in favor of eating low/no fat cookies, candies etc.
