Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility kickboxing

flexibility

Avatar m tn The problem with too much muscle for you is, kickboxing depends on great flexibility, and huge muscles can get in the way of that. Otherwise, you'd just get fat, which won't help you do anything but get slower, unless you want to be an offensive lineman. That's why so many athletes take steroids -- to turn the excess food into muscle.
684175 tn?1295477838 s by the end of the week so I changed up my exercise routine. Decided to do some kickboxing. OMG!! Kicked my butt!!! My legs are killing me LOL. Hopefully tomorrow will see a dip in the scale.
Avatar f tn I'm 28 years old, currently very active at the gym (kickboxing) and watching my diet. I've been having constant muscle twitching under my left knee towards my shin for about two weeks now. It's a sharp twitch, but with no pain. I can feel the twitch, but you can't see it. It happens when I walk, put force on my left leg or move it a certain way. There is no tingling or numbing, just the constant snapping twitch when active.
Avatar f tn For the past few months I have been wearing my heart rate monitor while taking kickboxing, boot camp classes etc, and my heart rate elevates quickly (up to 205 during kickboxing). Anyway I went to see the cardiologist and today I was told that I had 2 leaky valves while they were doing my echo, then during my stress test my heart rate got up to 170 at 6 minutes so they took me off and did a follow up echo.
Avatar n tn It tests your physical endurance for sure. Basically you do extreme flexibility and strength poses in a blaring hot room that is hotter than a sauna. Supposedly really healthy for you. But people who cannot endure it physically end up puking sometimes. Also, always do some cardio with strength training. Are you in any sports? Could be could to balance it out. You need to learn the dangers of dehydration. If you work out a lot, you can't just drink plain water.
Avatar m tn If i have the surgery and do what is needed to recover properly, will i be able to still compete in kickboxing tournaments and all other sports? Has anyone been in the same situation i have been in? how well did you recover? how active could you be? Please HELP, any feed back is much appreciated.
Avatar n tn t feel deprived. The key is a calorie deficit. For exercises, I recommend Zumba or kickboxing, personally, because it makes you feel like you are doing something to workout and learn something for day to day life (Zumba, dancing; Kickboxing, self defense). I have lost 40 pounds since September while breastfeeding. Some say more than 1-2 pounds per week is bad but it isn't always the case. Its all about how you feel and re-training your body.
Avatar n tn I was going to have the same done to her (she asked to have it done) before it got too bad. However, I enrolled her in muay thai kickboxing and jui jitsu classes, and for some reason all of the sudden her nosebleeds stopped. I don't know if it is because of the extra exercise or what, but it has been months and no nosebleeds. I figured it is worth mentioning. The cauterization works however. I never get nosebleeds now.
Avatar f tn s on acrobatic-kickboxing mode.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar f tn I thought around that time I felt her...very tiny movements, but at 26 weeks now it's full on somersaults and kickboxing at times. Really started to feel her around 20 or so and know it wasn't gas...
Avatar n tn I'm 27 weeks and my lil bundle of joy is a kickboxing machine but it feels like he is trying to kick or punch through my cervix could I be dilated or should he be that low already?
Avatar f tn Goodness gracious my child likes to move so much at night. Feels like he's kickboxing! Lol I am exhausted, but I can't actually lay down without movement's being extremely uncomfortable. Just have to wait patently until he stops. Haha!
Avatar f tn I have had this for several weeks now, and I am currently 34 weeks. Cervix is definitely closed, but baby is having a Kickboxing match with it! Best wishes!
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 18 and I have been doing contact sports for an year now (kickboxing, karate and MMA). I have recently heard from a relative who once worked in the eye care industry that I am not allowed to do such a sport (or anything that requires you to receive blows to the head) because i have a -4 dioptry. Is that true?
360318 tn?1340393363 So i was fed up and started doing Zumba and kickboxing and belly dancing. I lost 12 pounds. It goes up and down. Now during a phyisical they found my blood platelet count low. My question is does anyone else have low platelets? I am thinking it could be due to my blood collecting in my uterus because I havent started my period. Is this possible does anyone know. Also what has been successful diet wise for everyone. I heard low carb. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
Avatar f tn had an ovarian cyst removed........I (was) in great shape.. i worked out 4-5 days a week sometimes twice in one day...i enjoy running, kickboxing, & body pump class. ON Dec 22, 2011 almost 4 weeks ago...i had an ovary removed along with the tube & a tennis ball size cyst & a d&c. Doctor told me it was okay to go back to my exercise routine (4 weeks post op) --he told me to listen to my body….
Avatar f tn I wondered about this too. I like to do Zumba and kickboxing (movements not actual fighting) but wasn't sure. I also worried about balance. I think I will walk until I discuss with doctor.
Avatar f tn Yes every time I'm in the grocery store. I swear I just made an old man **** his pants when I screamed in pain from my baby kickboxing down there and I'm 37 weeks. It's so random too but I think you should be able to hold off if you can take it easy the next few weeks.
Avatar f tn My weight before is 120lbs, I gained weight when I got pregnant to 180lbs then after giving birth to my son after two months I tried kickboxing and yoga. But the best exercise for me is yoga. I lost 10lbs so my wait now is 160. I'm targeting my old weight to stay healthy.
700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.
Avatar f tn My wrist has been hurting a bit for a few months (from kickboxing and push-ups no doubt at all).. so recently my right wrist has develped a large protruding, what looked to me like bone, sticking out of the top (middle). It looks TERRIBLE when I bend the wrist down. So initially I thought nothing of it but its get larger. I thought maybe I displaced something, but am not having that kind of pain but it is hurting. Not killing but definitely sore.
