Avatar n tn Vigorous low-impact exercise is beneficial – for your joints, as well as for cardiovascular, pulmonary, and other systems in your body. If you can't do vigorous exercise, try walking, tai chi and yoga. If you're overweight then you need to diet. Drink concentrated tart cherry juice. it contains anthocyanins and bioflavonoids, which help support a healthy immune response for your joints. Make sure you're getting your vit. D, omega-3 fatty acids from krill or high quality fish oil.
Avatar f tn When I was first diagnosed with diabetes I was on basal-bolus. I had one very serious low. I hated it as there was no flexibility in eating. I then changed to basal-bolus and not only did I have much better control and excellent flexibility, I no longer have any serious lows.
Avatar n tn Take a look at this article: http://www.jpeds.com/article/S0022-3476(99)70173-3/abstract Unfortunately, without journal access through a university/medical library, the full text costs $$, but google scholar caught this glimpse from it: "Several recent investigations have also identified a high prevalence of orthostatic intolerance among those with fibromyalgia. ... " so it does link CFS, EDS, OI, and fibromyalgia (and is by Rowe).
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn at 13, in 2009, i had a spinal fusion and rods inserted for my s-curve scoliosis. i believe it was somewhere around L2 or L3 to T4 or 5. basically my entire spine. with 2 years passed, i've found my daily pain to be much worse than it was before my surgery. i've tried everything to reduce pain, from massages to physical therapy and even prescription drugs, but all of those had either no results or temporary ones. now, at 16 years old, i've made the decision to try to go back.
Avatar m tn there is no best medication for the condition you described. And medication has to fit the whole picture about the person and that can only be done through a consultation with a well-qualified psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn One of the most common congenital abnormalities of the human heart is a defect. It is of considerable clinical importance as it is the area for the cardiac conduction system (pathway for electrical impulses to regulate heart rate).
Avatar n tn I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off). I've done physical therapy as well, which helped my flexibility, but didn't take away any of the pain. Should I consider surgery?
Avatar m tn I have only cracked the bone and its not very severe, the only worry I have is if i am going to limp once it has healed regarding to the left side of the pubis being slightly higher (2cm) than the right (as shown on the X-ray)?
Avatar n tn Hi, I about 4 days ago cut my thumb with a knife at work and it started to scab, I went to the bathroom and touched the flush button with this thumb expose the cut to the button. As I am female, I am worried that there might be traces of microscopic blood on the button as females get their period and sometimes when inserting tampons, blood gets on the finger and then they use that to press the button. I’m not sure if I had opened my scab as there was not any fresh blood. Could I be at risk?
Avatar n tn But also, as we age our flexibility diminishes. So flexibility should be focused on as well. Youre target heart range after you have been cleared is (220-your age) x .85 You are not too old to increase your strength, flexibility endurance or efficiency. In fact, since you are so out of shape-it will be more likely that you will have a steep curve of improvement with some concerted effort.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
Avatar n tn The advantages are just as the others have described... a lot more flexibility. It is like slow release medicine, so there is no major peak which means you are not tied to a 7-8 hour schedule for eating. It sounds like you are a fairly new diabetic, so things may change for you as you live with diabetes longer. That doesn't mean it gets worse. It just means you may need to keep testing and seeing how your body responds to insulin, food and activity as the honeymoon period wears off.
Avatar f tn Usually when babies are born with their feet in the position you described, if there is no bone abnormalities, a brace is used to correct the positioning of the feet. This is usually done for an extended time period and the feet eventually go to the normal position. Sometimes, physical therapy is done to help develop the muscles depending on the child.
656452 tn?1332783935 When the scar tissue is reduced you can begin to work on flexibility and progress to strengthening. It is a long process, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Avatar m tn Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics. I assume goalies don't work nearly as hard as the other positions do, so perhaps it's not out of the question.
Avatar f tn This may be a crazy question, but I'm trying to figure out my summer and chemo! Is there 'wiggle' room with the chemo treatments? or do you have to go on the same day every three weeks? My six weeks is almost up and I need to get started and want to do it on Fridays so that I'll have the week-end to recover, but 4th of July falls on the Friday that I would get my second treatment and I'm assuming that they don't do chemo on that day. Thanks for any info.
Avatar m tn Hoping for input. I fell off a ladder about 4 weeks ago about 10 feet. From what my orthopaedic said, I have numerous breaks in my heel and talus bones, but nothing that surgery can do to help me. My swelling is almost as bad as it was from day 1, he keeps telling me this normal. He said I'll be on crutches for 3-4 months and luckily I have a boot and not a cast. Is all this normal?
700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.
Avatar m tn Have your blood pressure checked to be sure that it is in the normal range. If this is the case, then this is really nothing to worry about.
Avatar m tn I'm a 27 year old male. I have returned to gymnastics after 3 years out and find that I get severe cramp in the arches of my feet. It seems to occur if I point my toes too hard and for long periods of time. My feet don't seem to be as flexible as they used to be as I used to have a much better toe point before. As I have to train in barefeet, I've also noticed that they can get quite cold sometimes. Can anyone help?
Avatar f tn On the type of dose, as well as dosing schedule you describe in regard to your clonazepam and alprazolam, you're in pretty good shape, in so far as not becoming addicted. Glad you're "loving" the beneficial effects from Lexapro. A person very dear to my heart has been on it for months and it has done nothing to help, but rather has deteriorate the condition.
1307298 tn?1305946851 I'm considering going on the Best Bet diet (as described on direct-ms.org). This post isn't meant to start a debate on whether or not the diet is good or effective. Rather, I'd like to hear from those who have tried or are on the diet and any tips they can give or any recipes / resources they found helpful.
