Avatar f tn I have what amounts to 2 part time jobs. I looked into disability, but it wasn't enough money for what I could make working part time. I teach at the university level two days a week and have my own business and take clients the rest of the week. There is a great deal of flexibility in my schedule and I don't think I could manage a 9-5/40hr+ a week gig. I've done it in the past and the thought of trying to do it now is, frankly, head scratching.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar n tn Lantus is a long acting insulin that starts working within 1 to 2 hours, with a minimal peak in about 6 hours, and lasts 24 hours. You take one shot of it for your long acting insulin, and you still need to take a fast acting insulin to cover your corrections and meals. It is provides a fairly constant basal insulin all day long. 70/30 mix has both, fast acting insulin to cover a meal, and long acting to provide that basal between meals.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the suggestions Dr. Gross, I appreciate your response. I have been working on increasing my flexibility very consistently but it hasn't helped. My core strength is pretty good and it was a consistent part of my workout routine, but what exercises do you suggest? And which hip flexor stretches would you recommend? Also, I forgot to include that studying meant I was sitting in a chair all day and a lot of the time I was leaning forward with my back hunched.
Avatar m tn The previous surgery I had a medial meniscus tear about 5 years ago. I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that.

Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
700000 tn?1231287536 The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.
Avatar n tn Hi Steveman, First of all, I can really relate. I remember when I was a 16 year old diabetic and getting up at the same time everyday was a real drag. Even though I am now 52, there are still days I want to sleep in. Fortunately, there are now a lot more options for diabetics that can enable them to have a more flexible schedule all the way around. Now remember, I'm no doctor, so whatever I might suggest, you should check out with your doctor first before trying.
Avatar f tn I work in retail as well on my feet for at least 9 hours.
Avatar m tn I am a distance runner that had a left side inguinal surgery last April. After a two month recovery, I started running again. I've never really run correctly in the past year. Working with a chiropractor, I got a hip flexor malady adjusted; the PT said I needed to work on flexibility. My left leg kind of 'hangs/float' and doesn't extend out normally. I feel it even when I'm walking. The odd part is that I can't really self-correct it with mental striving.
Avatar f tn So I started working 8 hours a day. I have a client thats 6 houra a day and another client thats 2 hours. Well I explained to my 6 hour client that im pregnant and I needed to at least take 3 breaks 5 mins each in order for me to eat. Avatar m tn There is a bit of flexibility in the results anyway. They can each be off a percentage of a point or so and still be essentially the same reading. Don't worry.
Avatar n tn Hello. I get a sharp intense pain in my head after I stretch. I'm sitting at my desk and stretching my arms back. It stretches my back/upper torso and arms, but when I do it I seem to hold my breathe a bit and it causes a very intense pain on the very top of my head. The intensity goes down after a few moments and then a small headache lingers from a few minutes to a few hours. I don't try to hold my breathe though and I don't hold the stretch for more than a few seconds.
Avatar f tn online, or college-style program as it would afford you more flexibility to be with baby more, and give you more time in between classes. If you continue with your regular school schedule, that will be several hours a day you can't nurse or pump.
1929972 tn?1328548262 57 hours in wd. This is a barrel of fun! Not! It's horrible! Been reading on here and saw the suggestion for bananas. Helped alot with restlessness! I'm the cleanest chick in town for sure. Thanks so much for all the help. I am for sure done going through this! I read on here where someone put a question of would you rather go through day 1 30xs or get day 30 over with. Made alot of sense to me! Thankful God is on my side! I can and will do this!
Avatar f tn t handle working full time and keep me at less hours. I have talked to coworkers about asking for less hours and they have said things like I worked 40hrs when I was pregnant and just said mean things to me. I really need advice!
Avatar f tn Do you think I can go back to work or working would make things worst. I can conrol some things better not working with decreasing my activities and frequent rest periods. What do you think. I am an nurse.
Avatar n tn Last summer (2017) I started with pull-ups and chin-ups and in late August I started to notice pain in the elbow. One morning I woke up and could only bend my arm halfway to the shoulder. Attempting to move past it caused enormous pain. I'm normally quite agile and can reach my left shoulder with my left hand without difficulty.
Avatar f tn t find a job that I can have flexibility in. I have worked in the restaurant industry, factory work, and I've worked for Walmart and none of that has been able to accommodate me and I've either ended up having to quit or I got fired.
Avatar f tn I am 27 weeks and work 45 hours a week, mostly on my feet. Its rough, but gotta pay the bills. I plan on working until my daughter is born.... we will see....
Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
Avatar f tn s financially not in the cards for my hubby and I. If your part time job allows you the flexibility and you love it I see no reason not to keep it. Maybe ask your job if they would offer you your job back after taking a year or so off to spend with your baby. See what options are available to you.
Avatar f tn Keep us posted- I know how hard it is to wait for numbers! 70% is actually pretty good, what range were the #'s in? The general advice of doubling every 48 hours has some flexibility. The stats that I find on babymed.com say that ~85% of normal pregnancies have HCG double every 48-72 hours. This can slow down as the level gets higher to it doubling every 96 hours. Keeping my fingers crossed that things are good!
Avatar f tn 34 weeks working in a fast food restaurant 5 days a week 40+hours..
