Avatar m tn Hi Brad, I agree with nickppatel re the leg activity in water polo. I played water polo for 6 years in my late teens to early twenties (then joined the military) and I have a full understanding on the amount of leg work required just to play water polo, let alone being the goalie.
Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn Prenatal water aerobics or just swimming in general is easy and feels good
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar n tn Try a water-based exercise routine that takes advantage of the buoyant yet resistant quality of water to increase joint flexibility and/or build strength. There are also water-aerobics routines to exercise your cardiovascular system. Warm water is best for arthritis sufferers, so look for an aquatic center with a heated pool or spa that offers water-exercise classes. As with any new routine, be sure to ask your instructor how to adapt the movements to your condition.
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar f tn Im only two months (8 weeks) and you can look at me and kinda tell im pregnant because I am small and petite. I can't help but wonder why I have a lil puge in my stomach already could it be twins???
Avatar f tn Myocarditis can compromise the filling pahase (distolic) by crowding out available space in the right ventricle chamber (restrictive hypertrophy) as well as reduce the flexibility and the ability to increase capacity. The above scenario would also eventually effect the heart's ability to adequately pump (systolic phase) blood/oxygen into circulation with each stroke and if not successfully ttreated will cause heart failure (EF below 29%).Treatment is aimed at the underlying cause.
11195379 tn?1427921527 I go to the pool to swim or take water arobics. My local gym is hrs at but my hospital has a special water arobics class for pregnant women. Dr.
Avatar n tn Perform yoga or stretches after each exercise session to improve your flexibility and reduce your risk of soreness and injuries. Stretching helps to elongate your muscles to give your legs a leaner appearance. No excess sodium and improve your diet to reduce water retention. Your knees and other areas appear larger when you carry excess water. Cut out processed meat, table salt, salty snack foods, canned foods and most frozen dinners.
Avatar n tn Any dr/er/dds can prescribe you a round of antibiotics, which will help with the pain and inflammation alot. Try rinsing your mouth out with warm saline (salt) water a few times a day. If you're lucky, the "bump" will come to a head (like a pimple) and you will be able to squeeze the infection (pus) out of it. I know that sounds gross but once you can do that, it will help the pain immensely.
Avatar n tn Stretching the front and back or your leg to increase the flexibility in your knee. Perform stretching exercises at the end of your workout when your muscles are warm. Stretch the front of your leg in a standing position by bending your knee and raising your foot up toward your backside. Grasp the ankle with your hand to enhance the stretch. Stretch the back of your legs in a seated position with your legs extended on the floor. Fold forward over your straight legs to stretch your hamstrings.
Avatar f tn I have a problem with chronic pain in my left shin and have had bouts with plantar fastitis. Suddenly by shoe inserts to support my high arches feel awful. What are the right exercises and what else can I do?
700000 tn?1231287536 The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 25 now, and 5 years ago she broke her femur and had a titanium rod put in her leg. She's doing fine, and now she's taking tae kwando classes. She is not sure, however, if she should push herself to do kicks, etc., or to be careful not to put too much strain on her hip. She's not sure if she can increase her flexibility by pushing herself, or if she could do herself harm. How can she tell what could be helpful as opposed to what might to damage?
Avatar m tn Slow or not at all is bad. You can give her extra water by using a turkey baster with water in it, and squeezeng small amounts into her mouth (don't choke her). You can also try feeding her people food: human foods that are good for dogs include cooked boneless chicken, green beans, carrots and cooked rice. If you find that none of these home remedies work, please take her to the vet.
Avatar m tn Retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. Apply bacitracin (not Neosporin) for pediatric patients if bacterial infection is suspected. Apply topical clotrimazole for adult men with probable candidal balanitis. If the symptoms persist, you would need to consult your doctor. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar m tn I had surgery over 10 months ago for a lateral meniscus tear in my knee. This is the second surgery I have had on this same knee. The previous surgery I had a medial meniscus tear about 5 years ago. I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising.
4437866 tn?1388119624 Perineal massage can be done by the mother or her partner. The mother should be in a comfortable place, sitting or reclining in a way that gives access to the skin around the vagina. It can be done for up to 10 minutes a day during the last four weeks of pregnancy. Wash hands thoroughly. Ensure there are no sharp or long nails that may scratch the mother. Locate the perineum, directly below the vagina. It is the skin between the vagina and the anus.
1475492 tn?1332884167 ) We talked about frequency, ease and flexibility in treatment. She works off annual examinations with full CNS MRIs. I come in only if I feel the need to and have full access to any of her team by email or phone. Her hospital has a smaller clinic MUCH closer to my home where I can be seen by her partner and get my infusions without so much work. I had to drive 1 hour 15 minutes one way to get it at the other hospital.

562634 tn?1216180532 My left leg feels weak and consequently, I also have weakness in my right leg I have no strength in my left arm and I cannot grip with my left hand. The fingers on my left hand are curling in a sort of claw shape and there’s little flexibility, or grip. Also my left arm pulsates and twitches and my right arm has started doing that also. Recently my upper legs, just above the knee, are twitching as well and I have also felt twitches on my buttocks and shoulders.
Avatar f tn s Health Total Workout in Ten! It is broken into ten minute segments- cardio, upper body, lower body and flexibility/balance. You can pick out the routine that you want to work on or do them all. It also gives an alternative set of exercises to do, actually demonstrated by one of the women on the dvd, that are not quite as strenuous. It was around $15 on amazon. I have also seen dvds specific to MS patients' needs. You might want to look at those, too.
5160872 tn?1385248794 d be terrified to do it to my fella. Yes, I think the pen will give you a little more comfort and flexibility when it comes to doing it yourself.
