Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.

398059 tn?1447945633 My two days therapy involved speaking with a speech specialist , speaking with a occupational therapist, and working with a physical therapist. The speech therapist gave me tests to check on my cognitive skills. We found I had memory issues but determined they were tied to how I was feeling day to day. I saw her on Wednesday and had difficulties with some of her testing.

Avatar f tn Can dehydration, food allergies (?soy) or too few calories trigger migraines? I had issues last week with vision and slurred speech. Doctors were querying a 'mini stroke' or migraine. I'm a little apprehensive of symptoms returning or they being precursors to a stroke. Are there preventative measures I could be taking? (My GP has insisted I exercise for a minimum of 20 minutes each day. It was only three times the week before before this happened. Should I be concerned?
Avatar m tn You can look them up in the phone book and call asking if they specialize in sensory. Many insurances cover it. Motor planning can make fine and gross motor actitivities difficult. Kids with sensory will often avoid things that challenge them. Really every thing you list could be sensory related. I do not know if she has it, obviously------- but after occupational therapy, my son is doing extremely well.
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar n tn The areas of difficulty (usually called the triad of impairments), is (a) speech (any language delays or disorders), (b) social interaction (problems with interacting with peers, appears to not know how to play or join in), and (c) rigid repeitive behaviours, lack of imagination, need for routines etc (this can show itself in demanding things are always done in the same way, throwing tantrums at changes in routine, not appearing to have flexibility of thought etc).

Avatar m tn Hi Brad, I agree with nickppatel re the leg activity in water polo. I played water polo for 6 years in my late teens to early twenties (then joined the military) and I have a full understanding on the amount of leg work required just to play water polo, let alone being the goalie.
Avatar n tn I have a 25 month old girl who is significantly delayed in speech. She can say about 5 words but that is about it. She seems to understand some but not all of what we say. She will sometimes point to objects in a book if you ask her to, more likely she will point to something and want you to name it. She doesn't answer yes or no questions.
Avatar f tn 84% of disabled people and care providers reported encountering hate speech in person, illustrating how common it is to be targeted for abuse just for existing when you’re disabled. Almost 10% said they “accepted disability hate speech as a part of life,” an inevitable sense of surrender to what seems impossible to escape. For people with visible disabilities like Robert Schiavelli, encountering hateful commentary is unfortunately all too common.
5549102 tn?1376522673 Dropping letter sounds at the beginning, end or in the middle are all different issues in relation to speech. Is he putting any words together, like two words such as 'go bye'? "me juice"? That is probably the next thing to look for besides the articulation piece. But I think at this point, I wouldn't worry. A lot of speech issues self correct. My own son had some issues with not saying the middle part of words.
342647 tn?1291107933 That is normal and it actually sounds like your baby might be advanced in the speech department! Just keep speaking clearly and talking a lot to them and they'll pick it all up. Your pediatrician will start assessing speech development during visits. At least they SHOULD. You might notice, as they do the exam, the doctor will ask your child questions like, "What's your favorite food? Do you have a special toy?" to coax them into talking to see how well they speak.
Avatar m tn I've had problems in the past with slurred speech, but it's mostly just fatigue. Do you have any lesions in your neck?
Avatar n tn My husband was diagnosed with Graved Disease and has had radio iodine therapy in March. He has since fallen severely hypothyroid and has slurred speech as well as fatigue, weight gain, and irritability. His MD has put him on Synthroid, but my question is will his speech go back to normal and if so, how long? It's very disturbing to hear because it sounds as if he has been drinking (he doesn't at all), and I'm worried how this may affect him long term.
Avatar f tn I have a problem with chronic pain in my left shin and have had bouts with plantar fastitis. Suddenly by shoe inserts to support my high arches feel awful. What are the right exercises and what else can I do?
700000 tn?1231287536 The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.
Avatar m tn Aggressive behavior and delayed speech patterns are common symptoms of autism. Also, consider enrolling your son in a speech therapy program. The sooner you get him started on speech therapy, the better will be the outcome. Avatar f tn My daughter is 25 now, and 5 years ago she broke her femur and had a titanium rod put in her leg. She's doing fine, and now she's taking tae kwando classes. She is not sure, however, if she should push herself to do kicks, etc., or to be careful not to put too much strain on her hip. She's not sure if she can increase her flexibility by pushing herself, or if she could do herself harm. How can she tell what could be helpful as opposed to what might to damage?

Avatar m tn I had surgery over 10 months ago for a lateral meniscus tear in my knee. This is the second surgery I have had on this same knee. The previous surgery I had a medial meniscus tear about 5 years ago. I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising.
