flexibility

Avatar m tn ve racked up a fair few injurys playing rugby - Ligaments in my left ankle, Ligaments in the back of my left knee, Dislocated left shoulder, back spasms and now have mild sciatica in my left bum cheek. (which i think has something to do with my back spasm, anyways). Although i have had all these injurys it has not stopped me playing and now when i am training etc When training after a run or tackle sometimes i'll get a sharp stabbing pain in my perinium area which is excruciating.
Avatar m tn Also one of my friends suggested I think about joining a rugby team from a nearby town, which instantly resulted in me shouting in her face, which I know she didn't deserve and is highly unusual of me, thankfully she understands and has layed off, but i am upset as i have a close relationship with her and it was bad of me to do that.
Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar f tn Thank you for replying. I have been off season for a while wil Rugby because we don't play in the winter, only the Fall and Spring. So I have been dealing with chest and jaw pain, and pain in the left side of my face, and arms and shoulders for a while and I wasn't playing Rugby during this time. Also, the heart beats I get are rapid and they are pounding at times. So the clenching of my jaw I don't do, and the pain in my arms aare not from Rugby either.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar n tn I've been having swelling in my hands when they rest my side for a long period of time (30min or more). Raising my hands above my heart for 5-10 seconds relieves the swelling. I'm a 27 year old male with slightly elevated bloodpressure 135/80 and I am also on a small dose of medication for hypothyroidism. Although I am a social drinker, I do not smoke and consider myself overall healthy.
Avatar n tn Having a son who's a rugby player myself, I think it's quite possible he's walking around with broken bones. I can't believe these guys, and their pain tolerance. If his chest looks different, best to get it checked.
Avatar n tn I have had severe floaters in both eyes that have increased in number and size over the last 31 years. At age 18 whilst playing rugby i fell in Dog Faeces where soon afterwards I started seeing these floaters. Many medical professions over the years have dismissed my self diagnosis of Toxocariasis and that they are just floaters. 2016 i had POV surgery to remove floaters in left eye but didn't get the vitreous humour analysed.
Avatar n tn can anybody help! about a year ago i was in a rugby scrum in the front row i was pushed up by both packs and felt a crunch in the centre of my shoulder blades. since then ive had an increasingley painful right shoulder.base of the neck. and now my right3rd finger has gone numb. i have massive weakness in my shoulder and right arm and i am now getting pain in my back /spine about half way down my back.phisio said its impinged shoulder but it is getting worse as time goes by .
Avatar n tn m 15 years old male and in great shape, non-smoker, never drank alcohol in my life. yesterday during PE class we were playing rugby and the other class decided to play "prison rules"... anyway as i was running with the ball a kid hit me with his fist precisely between my stomach and my penis(almost where your bladder is). Avatar m tn Hi all, our son has recently been diagnosed with chiairi 1 with syrinx and is awaiting an appointment to see a surgeon, we know very little about the condition and we are obviously anxious about it. Avatar m tn After a couple of weeks I returned to playing rugby, had no issues and felt fine. 1 week later I ended up in the ER with an on/off pain deep in my left chest. I was diagnosed with Periocarditis, put on ibuprofen 1600 mg a day for 2 weeks. The moment I went off the ibuprofen the pain came back, I was put on Steroidal anti inflames and voltaren 100 mg a day. Once again the pain came back but I rode out the last of the voltaren.
Avatar f tn Podiatrist today seemed to think my posterior tibial pain (I play rugby and running can make pain severe) is related to this syndrome but in comparison to "normal" xrays, my Navicular seems pretty normal to me. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn I am currently 5w3d pregnant and yesterday my husband told me he was given an opportunity to go to Italy to play rugby for 8 months. If he decides to go he will miss everything, including the birth of our first baby?! This isnt the first time he went away for rugby, the last time he went away was for 6 months and that was before we were married (we are married now for 5 months). But this time it is different? I will never keep him from what he loves, I married him the way he is now.
Avatar m tn I had two separate impacts (one from a motorcycle and one from playing rugby) to bony areas. The motorcycle impact was on the top of the tibia just below the kneecap. The second impact was to my rib while playing rugby. Neither was broken (the rib sure felt broken, but the x-ray indicated otherwise) but a small growth of about 1" in diameter and .25" - .5" high has grown on each area. They are also fairly painful to pressure.
Avatar f tn Ask someone to order a brain MRI for you, with and without contrast under the MS protocol. It's a place to start. Perhaps a cervical one as well.
Avatar m tn The thing is I am only 25 years old and am in peak physical condition. I play professional rugby, and my physical fitness and diet are both at a very high standard. My concern is that my symptoms may be a result of too many bangs to the head or collisions in general. I play hooker as well, which for those of you who aren't familiar with rugby means that I am subjected to repeated collisions at the neck area as a result. I'm just waiting on an appointment with a neurologist now.
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar f tn After a rugby game I started experiencing a red rash on the head of my penis and its itching, the small red spots turns white and looks like it's dried out, so it leaves a white ring Can anyone help me to identify what it might be?
Avatar n tn My head imideatly felt pain in the same spot of where I felt the pain during my concussion in rugby. Im not sure if I lost consciousness or not during one of the falls. And now I am starting the wrestling season I dont know if i should take this season off or not?
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar f tn Maybe we need a dance off in stupid costumes .. and do like they do in rugby ... leave it on the field and head for (root) beers together when done.
Avatar f tn I'm 20 years old and I've been suffering from tremors in my hands since I was at least 12. I've lost some feeling of hot and cold in my hands, more so in my left hand. Also my neurologist did a pin prick test on my hands and I don't feel much in my left finger tips and forearm. Since my symptoms aren't very severe, I expected the neurosurgeon to say I would be fine with just monitoring and no surgery would be needed.
Avatar m tn Had exactly the same injury and repair job as sl26t from playing rugby. Had the op in early october of last year, i've done alot of sporting activity since rugby/10tors55/running/swimming but still get alot of swelling after these activities, usually have to rest it for a bit to bring the swelling down(bit annoying but i can live with it). Does any of your metalwork ever ache btw? Consultant says it's completly normal and its gunna take a good year before the swelling regulates.
Avatar f tn Hi I play rugby and after my game I couldn't extend my knee at all and barely put pressure on it. I tested it and took some medicine and I can put more weight on it but I can't fully extend my knee. The sweeping and pain is in the back on my knee. Every morning I usually extend my knees and crack them but now I can't to the hurt one everytime I try to extend it it feels like too much pressure and it's gonna snap. What should I do?
Avatar f tn I'm male, 17 year old and still studying in my local sixth form college. This is a long post but it's the first I've ever done and I really need help because my life is becoming a misery. I've suffered from stomach problems for a number of years but in the last couple they have become much more severe. It started getting worse when my GCSE exam period came up.
