Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn My five yars old just started in a Magnet School I thougt he's very smart and advanced for his age but his new teacher keeps telling me that he is slow what can I do?
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar m tn Hi Brad, I agree with nickppatel re the leg activity in water polo. I played water polo for 6 years in my late teens to early twenties (then joined the military) and I have a full understanding on the amount of leg work required just to play water polo, let alone being the goalie.
407651 tn?1224189895 I WAS TOLD BY DOCTOR AT THIS TEST THAT SHE SUSPECTS I HAVE ELHERS DANLOS DUE TO MY FLEXIBILITY ARTHRITIS JOINTS AND OTHER SYMPTOMS ALSO THAT I HAD POTS. HOWEVER MY CARDIOLOGIST REVIEWED THE TILT TABLE TEST AND HAS ASKED ME TO HAVE ANOTHER TILTTABLE TEST WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF POSSIBLE IS A POSSIBLE REASON AS TO WHY SHE WOULD WANT THE TILT TEST TO BE REPETED.
574118 tn?1305135284 s usage improves glucose blood levels greatly. It gives patients greater flexibility around meal times. The down side is that he will be attached to the pump inputting information several times a day. And it can have a financial cost associated to supplies. Hopefully that is a non issue for him. He also will need to check his blood sugar which is very important when using the pump. There is a learning curve to using it. Weight gain is a common thing that happens when using insulin.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm one of those people that is kind of against judging a child's academics in preschool. Those years for kids are about learning social skills, having fun, and yes, 'exposure' to things like reading (which can be done simply by reading to them). Neither of my kids showed a huge interest in letter recall and neither could read before kindergarten. Both, now in 4th and 5th grade are excellent, advanced readers.
Avatar f tn By no means would I want that not to happen because a mother to be is not in a traditional mother father married relationship. But my patience and having to hear women who essentially were knocked up complain about how they are sad, lonely, feel scared due to the circumstances of having to deal with your pregnancy alone. These conversations end up monopolizing the meeting we have at mothers group, and I see it even times on forums like this one.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes two days ago and have been in a learning phase since. While doing all the research I have stuck to salads and am completely burned out! My doctor wants me to stay away from carbs all together right now. I have read different things regarding fruit and I am unsure which ones are safe; people say different things. I would love any kind of feedback that anyone has on some food options!
Avatar f tn My daughter had the same problem when toilet training. She would actually go sit in the closet and poop in her underwear but go on the toilet without an issue. She was about 5 when it finally stopped.
Avatar f tn (The link is at the top of this page) There are many wonderful people who know exactly what your going through and can help tremendously. Welcome and all the best to you in getting clean. I also left you a little note in your profile to say hi and welcome.
Avatar n tn Hi Marinoche, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I'm trying to understand your post. Your statement, " I feel like my right trochanter has been twisted in the wrong place" means that you think you have twisted your hip joint in the wrong place. Your Trochanter should never "twist" in any direction. The hip is a synovial ball and socket joint. Normal ranges of movement are Flexion, Extension, Adduction, Abduction, Medial Rotation and Lateral Rotation.
7052683 tn?1392938795 Excellent post, C. But, please, don't be so hard on yourself. You are not 'stupid', you just didn't know. Until I found this forum, I had no idea about cat food either. Which was why Jade ate Fancy Feast 'til the day she passed. I couldn't get her off it. It wasn't the worst food, but certainly nowhere near the best. I can't tell you how many times I wished I'd found this forum before taking her in in 2006. I would of done things so differently.
Avatar f tn I have a problem with chronic pain in my left shin and have had bouts with plantar fastitis. Suddenly by shoe inserts to support my high arches feel awful. What are the right exercises and what else can I do?
Avatar m tn Hello, Before considering which medications might help, you will want to find out if you meet diagnostic criteria for ADHD or a specific learning disability. Keep in mind that the symptoms you report could be happening for many reasons, ADHD being only one possibility. A psychologist, neuropsychologist or doctor of education can do a psychological evaluation (series of tests) that will determine a diagnosis.
700000 tn?1231287536 The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 25 now, and 5 years ago she broke her femur and had a titanium rod put in her leg. She's doing fine, and now she's taking tae kwando classes. She is not sure, however, if she should push herself to do kicks, etc., or to be careful not to put too much strain on her hip. She's not sure if she can increase her flexibility by pushing herself, or if she could do herself harm. How can she tell what could be helpful as opposed to what might to damage?
Avatar m tn I had surgery over 10 months ago for a lateral meniscus tear in my knee. This is the second surgery I have had on this same knee. The previous surgery I had a medial meniscus tear about 5 years ago. I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising.
