382218 tn?1341181487 A team led by scientists at the University of Leeds has developed a biosensor technology that uses antibodies to detect biomarkers - molecules in the human body which are often a marker for disease - much faster than current testing methods. The technology could be used in doctors' surgeries for more accurate referral to consultants, and in hospitals for rapid diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Hi I am 34 and suffered from lower back pains so the Dr sent me to get a ct scan and they found 0.3 hypo density near the lower liver margin in segment 6 (series 3 image 34 and the rest of my liver is normal with no biliary dilation. And a 0.8 diverticulum is notes arising from the fundus of the gallbladder (series 3 image 26) with no gallstones. Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar n tn Evidently, according to my doctor, I had the latest in testing technology. So I am thankful. So the mystery remains how she is positive HSV 2. My guess here is that it is all just a calculated attempt to "get back" at her ex husband and there is no positive test results. I don't know, but HSV 2 isn't a joke and should'nt be used as a means to an end!! Anyway, I have learned quite a lot about this disease. Probably more than I ever wanted!
Avatar n tn Take a look at this article: http://www.jpeds.com/article/S0022-3476(99)70173-3/abstract Unfortunately, without journal access through a university/medical library, the full text costs $$, but google scholar caught this glimpse from it: "Several recent investigations have also identified a high prevalence of orthostatic intolerance among those with fibromyalgia. ... " so it does link CFS, EDS, OI, and fibromyalgia (and is by Rowe).

After five years the IOLs performed similarly in terms of color perception and both scotopic and photopic contrast sensitivity.

192055 tn?1263555537 I had sternoclavicular joint repair in March of last year. My surgeon took my front neck muscle and wrapped it around my collarbone and breast bone to make it a stable joint. Well, the last few months I have been having a lot of neck pain mainly and some pain at the joint. My previous surgeon didn't want to use bolts since it would make it a fixed joint (there is suppose to be a little play) so I would lose some flexibility.
Avatar f tn I wanted to watch/listen to the Webinar on Fatigue & Mobility, I even rushed home to be home in time, but my phone was acting up and I couldn't call it. Then spent so much time messing with the phone I realized it was already passed 9:30 and I had pretty much missed it! Not that I'm not used to missing out on things, but I really was hoping to gain some insight tonight. Grrr! Well I guess it's bed time for this girl. I haven't been getting enough sleep lately.
Avatar m tn In 2013 the FDA approved the FibroScan technology and in 2014 the AASLD endorsed the FibroScan technology. The FibroScan is technically called Vibration Controlled Transient Elastography (VCTE) and it measures liver stiffness that correlates with liver fibrosis staging. This new technology is replacing the needle biopsy and the advantages are that the procedure in non-invasive, painless, requires no hospitalization and all major insurance plans will soon cover two FibroScans per year.
Avatar n tn IMO, pumping has given me BETTER results for LESS work, once I learned the technology. Teens are usually more comfortable with technology than "old folks" like us ;-) Good luck and let us know what your boy ... err, young MAN ... decides to do, okay?
Avatar f tn If you have some flexibility in when you can take the pill I would do so in the same manner as if it were a supplement and wait the recommended four hours after taking your thyroid medication. It would probably be helpful for you to go to Synthroid's website and read through some of their info - including the 'Prescribing Information' page. Congratulation on getting through the surgery you did. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Do you often lose sleep because you log in late at night? If you answered “often” or “always,” technology may be taking a toll on you. In a study to be published in the journal Cyberpsychology, Behavior and Social Networking, researchers from the University of Melbourne in Australia subjected 173 college students to tests measuring risk for problematic Internet and gambling behaviors.

Avatar f tn Thxs for information it's much better today as I can straighten it but the kuncle has sunk in a little bit and a bit pain when straighten and if I clinch my fist and let go fast to a normal hand it hurts so do I still have to worry?
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
908392 tn?1316522899 Novartis agreed in January to spend $24 million to secure access to chip-in-a-pill technology developed by privately owned Proteus Biomedical of Redwood City, California, putting it ahead of rivals. The biotech start-up's ingestible chips are activated by stomach acid and send information to a small patch worn on the patient's skin, which can transmit data to a smartphone or send it over the Internet to a doctor.
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar m tn http://www.tht.org.uk/mediacentre/pressreleases/2009/september/september28.htm Is this test available in the US? It doesn't specify what kind of test (antigen, antibody...). Any information about this would be appreciated.

All are medical records go to one place in the country for all insurance companies. They can collectively take any disease such as MS and know what treatments have been effective and which ones have not. They know how many MRIs are done in a year in this country, etc.
