Avatar n tn I would swear by yoga... just added it to my MS symptom management and swear in just a month I feel a difference. I use the Wii Fit, so progress is logged. When I first started, it showed me at Wii Fit age 54 (I am 43), I am now ranging from ages 31 to 36 (range is directly affected by factors such as diet and weather which can cause the MS symptoms to be problematic on any given day). But haven't been older then my real age in weeks!! Been using the Wii about 2 months now.
Avatar f tn not a crazy question. I asked to move the start of my radiation out a week to accomodate me working at VBS. Not a problem, usually.
Avatar m tn 3 years is a long time for break in Gymnastics. If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
1945565 tn?1330465775 At any workplace in order to be able to be granted a reasonable accommodation that would help you be able to perform the "essential function" (basic requirements of the job) you need to discuss this when you are hired with whoever is your manager or supervisor. However its best not to discuss it until you are hired so that it wouldn't work against you (although of course its not allowed to be part of the decision).
Avatar n tn It definitely sounds as though you were in a hostile work environment that caused you a great deal of stress and eventually caused you to have to seek a new position. The fact that your immediate supervisor was involved rather than trying to help you is also deplorable...and wrong. However, the burden of proof in a legal situation is on you. If the new job caused you to take a pay cut, then you certainly could seek damages for the loss of income, not to mention rank.
10452875 tn?1436484351 Some states have laws against that. But beware I was informed by my doctor that my work could fire me if I brought in a note stating I couldn't do certain activites, I live in Missouri. I wound up having to go on disability leave and 4 months in they fired me. Because Missouri is a right to work state that don't need a reason to fire.
Avatar f tn Have you talked to any lf the ones he talks down to about why he does it or are you confident it is because he is just a bully? Is he aggressive in his voice when he is correcting them physical? Or does he just randomly come through and talk to people like they are nothong to him and he walms away looking stone faced and unaffected?
Avatar f tn Can a person have elevated ammonia in bloodstream from an environmental exposure? And what would the symptoms be?
Avatar n tn I work at an australian hospital as a wardsperson/cleaner. I was mopping the floors of the ward and to be honest can't remember If I mopped any blood up or not. There was none obvious anyway. As I was ringing the mop out some water splashed up and I think I may have gotten a very small amount of the water in my eye. assuming someone on the ward was HIV positive, am I at any risks?
446829 tn?1212425523 I have gone through a few diagnoses since a workplace injury one is tension headaches and the other is post conccusive symptoms. It finally has been confirmed through an MRI over 15 months later to be a bulging disc in neck area. I would like to know how a bulging disc could be related to the above diagnoses or if over time could a bulging disc occur from those diagnoses.
Avatar m tn I had surgery over 10 months ago for a lateral meniscus tear in my knee. This is the second surgery I have had on this same knee. The previous surgery I had a medial meniscus tear about 5 years ago. I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your reply. No, my mother isn't diabetic or have varicose veins. She's not scheduled to see her ortho. surgeon for a couple of weeks but if she's still in severe pain, I will ask to move up her appt.
Avatar n tn The person is a year and a half through physical therapy and recovery, 150 mg of Lyrica per day, co q10, and a muscle relaxer 2 mg at night. The person is experiencing extreme muscle spasms from waist down, which sometimes respond to Tylenol, 1000mg. The person is able to walk with a device, however, sitting afterwards creates stiffness and inability to continue walking. Is flexibility possible?

Avatar f tn Have you ever read of anyone getting HIV from workplace cuts, or playing, etc? It would be front page news if a baby got it this way from cuts on a playground or a public change room. It is not a worm that burrows into your skin.
Avatar m tn I work in an office, we are relate to healthcare but our office is administrative only. We have office supplies in a cabinet, that all workers have access to. I was looking in a small box for something and poked my thumb, then my index finger on a thumbtack in that small box. Both bled. Is there any HIV risk there? For example if another person did the same thing just before me and bled? Any risk or need for testing or prophylactics?
Avatar n tn Over the years we have helped with his control. He is now working at a stressful job in finance in NYC and lives with his girlfriend. He is currently taking 2 shots a day of Humilin Reg. and NPH. Over the last six months he has bottomed out at least 8 times usually at lunch time and the paramedics have had to be called to his workplace. Yesterday when they arrived his Blood Sugar was 19. It seems he drops so quickly that he is unable to treat himself by eating a snack.
Avatar m tn Our history with our Internist has shown that she is a bit of a catastrophesizer and she said this could be bladder cancer so we need to see a Urologist which we plan to do. But I would think there could be many other, benign causes for this especially given he has no symptoms commensurate with bladder cancer. True?
Avatar f tn Start slow. Suggest that you both have lunch or a coffee break together. Then, see where it goes from there. I've had plenty of workplace friendship/ romances... and, I've never regretted one of them. If you feel compelled to ask him out or offer your phone number, I say, go for it... just be prepared for the fact that he may not be as "interested" as you are.
Avatar m tn ve heard from other co-workers that cold sores spread like wildfire in such a workplace...so does this mean that when I touch a surface e.g. use a keyboard that she has been using, that I too will get herpes if I touched their mouth/touched their genitals whilst wiping in the toilet? I don't carry the herpes virus as far as I know!
Avatar f tn Derealization is something that I was completely unfamiliar with until January of 2014, It started for me immediately following a panic attack I experienced after receiving a one time steroid in the ER for an allergic reaction to ibuprofen. This is the most strange, fear invoking feeling I've ever had. I would not wish it on anyone .... Not even my worst enemy. It's quite unbelievable that nobody can see or understand a problem that feels so debilitating to another human being.
Avatar m tn If you choose to play, listen to your body when it starts to give out signals toyou, it may help save your life. A rupture in the root in a scenario like water polo could be a fatal event.
