flexibility

Avatar n tn After no improvement I visited a physiotherapist that forced my arm to bend (joint mobilization) and gave me stretching exercises that I should do each day for 2 weeks. The first few days flexibility improved gradually, but then the bursitis came back. I had an X-ray exam but the doctor said that it only showed my old trauma and nothing new. Doctor noted: "Active ROM: slightly reduced extension and great reduction of flexion. Passive ROM: soft endfeel on both extension and flexion.
Avatar n tn Vigorous low-impact exercise is beneficial – for your joints, as well as for cardiovascular, pulmonary, and other systems in your body. If you can't do vigorous exercise, try walking, tai chi and yoga. If you're overweight then you need to diet. Drink concentrated tart cherry juice. it contains anthocyanins and bioflavonoids, which help support a healthy immune response for your joints. Make sure you're getting your vit. D, omega-3 fatty acids from krill or high quality fish oil.
Avatar f tn I also like to play at golf and wonder if anyone out there plays golf with a fused or partially fused wrist?
Avatar n tn There are also water-aerobics routines to exercise your cardiovascular system. Warm water is best for arthritis sufferers, so look for an aquatic center with a heated pool or spa that offers water-exercise classes. As with any new routine, be sure to ask your instructor how to adapt the movements to your condition. One key way that exercise helps reduce joint pain is by building muscle, which in turn helps take strain and pressure off the joints.
Avatar m tn Typically I recommend waiting 6 weeks for the pocket to heal before any activity that involves a lot of shoulder movement. Remember that regardless of the age of the pacemaker you should avoid excessive movement on that side, such as throwing a ball, so you might have to modify your golf swing accordingly.
Avatar m tn At age 13 (13 years ago) I had both my hips pinned due to a slipped capital femoral epiphysis on both sides. I have issues in mobility and flexibility and was wondering if there was any surgeries or treatments available to enhance my mobility. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Really, this is an honest question? No risk.
Avatar m tn thanks for the response. Boy, that sounds drastic by all measures except that golf is my passion and has been for 55+years. But is there not a way to fashion glasses to solve the left slope problem. since the slope I see very minor (except when it comes to reading a putt in golf)? The pair I lost did that. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Lol so, coconut oil, olive oil work great. I felt a little sore after the first time I did mine. You have to do it consistently for it to be effective. You can't stretch one day and expect to do the splits the next. It takes time to build flexibility. I was told to begin it at 34 weeks.
Avatar m tn I saw this same advertisement in the Spirit Magazine offered by the airline the last time I few home from Houston. I was very impressed. Makes me want to take up golf. I hope more publications accept this add so we'll see it more and more.

Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn Some docs offices don't close on that particular holiday. Check with yours. There is a little wiggle room, but mostly they like to keep things on schedule since it's easier to schedule patients consistent on a particular day rather than randomly. You could do chemo on Thursdays as an alternative. I did mine on Thursday afternoons so I had more than plenty of time to "bounce" back by Monday. Hopefully you'll have as good a time with the chemo as I did...
Avatar f tn My husband is the exact same. Plays a round at least once maybe twice a week. I usually go for a walk. Occasionally at the park, around the house. I'll even just go for a drive with some music blaring. Helps clear my head.
Avatar n tn My husband sweats a lot when exercising and playing golf. He takes Lisinopril and he has had several episodes of lightheadedness, nausea and vomiting, and low BP while playing golf. Are there other classes of anti-hypertensives that don't result in hypotension DT excessive sweating? He's also had 7 kidney stones in the last 5 months. Could Lisinopril and his excessive sweating be a contributing factor?
Avatar f tn With advanced methods of anaesthesia, the risk is low. You will merely be put to sleep for a short period of time - for the duration of the surgery and will be wide awake after that. I have been to a spinal PT and I temporarily felt better but not much. He focused only on my spine and said my movement was very limited for a 27 year old. I had an X-ray taken in December that my Internal Med. Physician initially said revealed dehydrated discs around the S1 area but later said they looked fine. I have been doing yoga 3-5 times a week the past 1.

Avatar f tn My daughter is 25 now, and 5 years ago she broke her femur and had a titanium rod put in her leg. She's doing fine, and now she's taking tae kwando classes.
