Avatar m tn I had my post-surgical drain in for nearly four weeks so that was a huge drain for me plus felt like quite a big set-back. I did the exercises I was given by the hospital. I did however break rules and did exercises above shoulder height before the drain was removed. I don't think that this affected me. I did Pink Pilates after my drain was removed which I would recommend. I haven't been swimming post-surgery.

Avatar n tn m extremely active and I play volleyball around 3 hours every day and I plan to play in college. Avatar m tn I have been sore right around both of my gluteus Maximus muscles since December. The muscle is very tight and seems to be restricting the movement of my lower lumbar. It's uncomfortable to sit even for short periods of time as there is a dull pain from my glutes down the back of my legs. I have been to a spinal PT and I temporarily felt better but not much. Are there any other exercise routines that GERD sufferers like me perform -- aside from walking?
Avatar f tn One study performed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill showed that subjects who performed dynamic warm-ups had higher performance in the vertical jump test than those who just did standard stretching. Avatar n tn After no improvement I visited a physiotherapist that forced my arm to bend (joint mobilization) and gave me stretching exercises that I should do each day for 2 weeks. The first few days flexibility improved gradually, but then the bursitis came back. I had an X-ray exam but the doctor said that it only showed my old trauma and nothing new. Doctor noted: "Active ROM: slightly reduced extension and great reduction of flexion. Passive ROM: soft endfeel on both extension and flexion.
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar f tn I am 16 and recently started exercising with my volleyball team. We have been doing P90X, weights, pull-ups, abs, and lots of running. However, lately I've been having lower stomach pains. I feel that maybe I'm hungry, but the pain is still there. I've also noticed I'm not eating as much, but maybe that has to deal with the exercise? I'm not quite sure if this is normal, but I wanted to see anyways.
