Avatar f tn I was mowing with a riding mower I heard and felt a load pop. Ihave been told its not a torn rotator cuff, its just a strain. I still have constant pain in my shoulder and I found a bruise on my shoulder it looks like it is going away but it looks like it covered all of my shoulder. What does this sound like? And what if anything can be done?
Avatar m tn Your symptoms of not able to raise your arm above your level of shoulder on left side suggest that this might be due to biceps tendonitis, rotator cuff tendonitis, or rotator cuff calcific tendonitis. Does your shoulder ever give way? Did your shoulder previously have pain, but is now only stiff? How long have you had your shoulder pain and have you tried anything to help it? I think your symptoms are suggestive of rotator cuff injuries.
Avatar m tn I have had problems with my rotator cuff and shoulder. There are exercises you can do to try and strengthen the rotator cuff muscles. Try this website for some exersises...http://www.myfit.ca/exercisedatabase/search.asp?muscle=Rotator%20Cuff&other=Shoulder%20Joint I would try to see if you can see a doctor, showing your parents limited range of motion may help.
Avatar f tn can shoulder bursitis be cured? Had 3rd rotator cuff surgery and report says I have massive irratative bursitis. what exactly is that? Is it like arthritis?
Avatar n tn The most likely exercises to help repair and rehabilitate the shoulders are rotator cuff exercises usually with cable or band. You can also do later raise with a light band as well.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I went to my family practise doctor who saw me for about 2 minutes and he said I have a injury to my rotator cuff that is defering pain to my deltoid muscle area and/or there is also an injury to the deltoid area and I have some frozen shoulder but isn't totally frozen (at least not yet). The doctor said he didn't think it was a tear since there was no bruising. I will get an MRI only if I don't improve in the next month or with stretching. My questions are: 1.
755109 tn?1234238837 Most of the answers to your questions will depend on the specifics of your injury; torn rotator cuff injuries can range from small tears that can yield complete recovery, to large tears that cause chronic disability. Steroid injections will not heal a torn rotator cuff, but they reduce inflammation and pain, although the pain can get worse for a day or two after the injection before eventually improving.
Avatar f tn I had shoulder surgery two months ago to repair my right rotator cuff. Have been doing exercises religiously until Workers Comp cut off my visits pending review. Was improving until about two weeks ago, when not only the pain in my right arm increased, but now my left arm and neck are involved. Pain clear down to the end my fingers, extreme weakness and fatigue. Doctor keep saying it's referred pain, but I don't think so.
Avatar m tn Shoulder impingement syndrome is a result of damage to rotator cuff. Rotator cuff is the muscles and tendons around the shoulder joint which enable the arm to move in all directions. This can occur in sports persons like in swimming, golf, over head arm movements and in rheumatoid arthritis. It is difficult to say what it is until physical examination and x-rays are seen. It could be dislocation or a fracture or rotator cuff injury. Consult a orthopedician for further assistance. Best.
1021719 tn?1297370001 Radiology Impression: 1. No full thickness rotator cuff tear. 2. Degenerative changes most pronounced in the glenoid. 3. Significant labral tear posteriorly and superiorly likely degenerative. What specially does this all mean? Because there are different tears.
Avatar n tn Most likely you are having "referred" pain in you arm. In other words, the actual damage is either your rotator cuff or AC joint (acromioclavicular joint) yet the pain presents in the upper arm. This is very common, and your comment about the pain while driving with you arm is indicative of this type of injury. The x-rays you had done typically will not show the injury, but an MRI will.
Avatar f tn This sounds like a rotator cuff injury. Rotator cuff tear of the shoulder causes pain and weakness at the joint. Complete rotator cuff tear results in inability to raise the arm away from the side under your own strength. This is usually injured due to excessive force like trying to catch a falling heavy object or lifting an extremely heavy object with an extended arm. Consult an orthopaedic surgeon for evaluation.
Avatar m tn could be rotator cuff for sure. I am a PT and this is pretty prominent for rotator cuff pathology. See a PT..they will be able to do a more thorough exam.
Avatar n tn I then went on to have shoulder surery where they performed a rotator cuff repair, shaved down osteophites. They did not touch the labrium in hopes the rotator cuff repair would help allow the labrium to heal on its own. I have now been in PT for 3 months and developed sharp pain to my bicep and numbess and tingling down my arm into my hand. My hand turns pale and is cold to the touch. This happens with any raising of my arm above 45 degrees.
Avatar m tn Makes sense, I will definitely continue with bands and light dumbbells until I regain some strength. Thank you very much for your response.
Avatar m tn The company I work for sent me to a medical consultant that told me there is no way the rotator cuff injury/surgery could have entrapped the ulnar nerve in the shoulder. He said the problem is just from old age. I am 56. I have read many articles on the internet and they tell me a different story. What are the facts and chances of the ulnar nerve being damaged from the shoulder injury?
Avatar m tn m sorry about your injury. The rotator cuff is a common injury with tennis players (besides tennis elbow). I would rest it and take NSAID's like Ibuproin or naproxin for about a week or two if you can. I don't mean don't use it but just don't strain it. Also, try icing it of and on. Then start your own PT at home. Get in the the shower and warm up the shoulder and arm.
Avatar m tn m sorry to read that your Rotator Cuff is problematic again. We all know how pain, especially when chronic can disrupt our lives. Rotator Cuff repair surgery can sometimes be iffy. There are a lot of factors that come into play. Success often depends on the severity of the tear, the surgeon preforming it and what degree of activity your lifestyle demands from your shoulder. Rotator cuff repair surgery for a tear from a sudden injury works best if it is done within a few weeks of the injury.
Avatar m tn When I do anterior to posterior rotator cuff exercises I feel a pain in my shoulder. The posterior to anterior I still feel pain but not as bad. Went to my family doctor and he diagnosed it as bicep tendinitis and gave me a shot for the pain. After 4 weeks of no lifting, I went back to the gym and threw on very very light weight for bench. And I hurt again about halfway through the second set. It does hurt on bicep curls and just about everything else except DB shrugs.
Avatar f tn What about a Suprascapular Nerve pinch?Any rotator cuff injurys that also caused chest pain?I really feel like it is a physical problem and not a mental one.Any helpful ideas on what it could be.
Avatar m tn Shoulder problems are pretty common as we get older. My mom had successful rotator cuff surgery last year; she's in her 70s and had never been athletic.
Avatar f tn You do not have to injure yourself to mess up your shoulder. There are many things that could be causing your symptoms, such as arthritis, rotator cuff inflammation, rotator cuff tear, etc. You should really see a physician to have this xrayed and possibly have an MRI to check for inflammation and tearing. Hope this helps. Good luck.
