Avatar n tn I'm a 38 year old male. When I was 17, I had a fracture on my left elbow from a fall. I had problems with the elbow in terms of mobility and pain for a couple of years, but from when I was about 20 until just recently it has been fine, apart from cracking noises now and then when I stretched it out. During these years I have been working out - push-ups, arm curls etc. Last summer (2017) I started with pull-ups and chin-ups and in late August I started to notice pain in the elbow.
Avatar f tn To stretch your left tricep, bend your left arm and bring your elbow straight up so that it points to the ceiling. Grab your elbow with your right hand, and pull your elbow toward your head. You should feel the stretch along the back of your bent arm. Hold 15 to 30 seconds, then switch elbows. Repeat 2 to 4 times on each arm. Calf Stretch Place your hands on the back of a chair, countertop, or tree. Now step back with your left leg. Keep it straight, and press your left heel into the floor.
Avatar n tn The most likely exercises to help repair and rehabilitate the shoulders are rotator cuff exercises usually with cable or band. You can also do later raise with a light band as well.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn s say my water breaks in March.
Avatar m tn If you are doing exercise in a wrong form then it will lead to injury. You should stop doing exercise for some days and take complete rest. If the elbow pain increases without doing exercise then you should consult your doctor.
Avatar f tn Some simple exercises can also be helpful in controlling the symptoms of tennis elbow. These exercises should not cause pain, and those that do should not be done until pain resolves. By strengthening the muscles and tendons involved with tennis elbow, you can help prevent the problem from returning. You should consult a physiotherapist to help you learn the exercises.Repetitive stress injuries are a contributive factor for tennis elbow, these should be avoided. Refer http://ergonomics.about.
Avatar m tn I am 36 yr old male. Started to do some workout to keep fit almost a year ago. Things were going good. One day I was doing biceps with dumbells I started to feel pain in my left elbow. I ignored it but couple of days later it got worse. My doctor told me "tennis elbow" and gave me exercises like "pronationa and supination". I did it and still doing it. I used elbow bracing and taking pain meds. It didn't improve.
Avatar n tn Stretching the front and back or your leg to increase the flexibility in your knee. Perform stretching exercises at the end of your workout when your muscles are warm. Stretch the front of your leg in a standing position by bending your knee and raising your foot up toward your backside. Grasp the ankle with your hand to enhance the stretch. Stretch the back of your legs in a seated position with your legs extended on the floor. Fold forward over your straight legs to stretch your hamstrings.
Avatar f tn I know walking is a good exercise, and this might be an obvious answer to the question but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of exercises I could do to maintain my weight. Im paranoid if i gain too much weight my baby will be too big and cause difficulties during labor which terrifies me..Im wanting to avoid a c section so bad!
Avatar n tn I have suffered with tennis elbow for a number of years. 10 days ago I had my 3rd cortisone injection which so far has had little effect. How long should I wait before seek further medical assistance? The pain, if anything, seems to be getting worse. I can't straightened my arm now.
Avatar m tn Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar f tn after surgery, you will wear an elbow-length cast for about six weeks. Union is usually achieved by 3 months; plate is not removed unless it causes symptoms; stitches will be removed after 10 to 14 days, although most of them will have been absorbed by your body. You should keep your hand and wrist elevated above the level of your heart for several days to avoid swelling and throbbing. Keep it propped up on a stack of pillows when sleeping or sitting up.
Avatar m tn I have been sore right around both of my gluteus Maximus muscles since December. The muscle is very tight and seems to be restricting the movement of my lower lumbar. It's uncomfortable to sit even for short periods of time as there is a dull pain from my glutes down the back of my legs. I have been to a spinal PT and I temporarily felt better but not much. He focused only on my spine and said my movement was very limited for a 27 year old.
Avatar f tn I have a problem with chronic pain in my left shin and have had bouts with plantar fastitis. Suddenly by shoe inserts to support my high arches feel awful. What are the right exercises and what else can I do?
194224 tn?1371160202 Hello community. I was recently injured in a way that caused severe contusions on both forearms from above the elbow down past my wrist. From what I've discussed with doctors thus far, this was accompanied by at least one fracture on the left side, and possibly a break in the other. There is 'disfigurement' in the form of bumps on both sides, which appears connected with bone.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know of gentle exercises to get my stamina up? I have bad knees, and rheumatoid arthritis in my back so I'm not super flexible. Want to get extra weight off to help improve health...
1113790 tn?1258651914 When i use the arm it shoots up to a 7-8 while doing the exercises physical therapy gave me; i feel a stabbing pain around my wrist mostly on top. And a pulling sensation of the inner elbow and burning searing pain in the deltoid and a stabbing pain in the triceps. After doing the exercises or just general life duties the pain settles at about a 3-4 for 2 days. I have stopped doing the pt exercises because the pain got worse and i could complete a set of 10 by the 4th day.
Avatar m tn ve been diligent with my physical therapy and I have full flexibility in the leg. I can bend the leg at the knee and I can fully extend it. I can put weight on the leg and the doctor no longer requires me to wear the surgical boot. I still need to use a cane or crutches to get around. How long does it take for the tibia fracture to fully heal, and is there anything I can do to quicken the healing process on my own other than exercises and physical therapy? Thank you.
15502615 tn?1440995053 Your doctor may recommend that you meet with a physical therapist to provide you with specific exercises designed for your needs. Range-of-motion and stretching exercises can help maintain flexibility in your joints and preserve good posture. Proper sleep and walking positions and abdominal and back exercises can help maintain your upright posture. Most people with ankylosing spondylitis don't need surgery.
Avatar n tn Has your wrist/watchband become snug? As that could cutoff some blood circulation to your hand and contribute to numbness. Are you left handed, and/or use your fingers quite a bit? Overuse, especially involving harsh vibration like keyboarding, can lead to knuckle damage (osteoarthritic joints are very painful but they usually are easy to spot as they're also swollen). Does heat somewhat relieve your finger pain?
Avatar f tn When I was 4 I badly broke my elbow, I had surgery which they implanted pins into my arm (supracondylar fracture) . A week after the surgery I became unwell and I was diagnosed with septicaemia of the bone and in my blood. I had 10 more surgeries to try and save my arm: thankfully they did on the last op. Im now 15 years old and I am becoming aware of elbow pain and also lack of movement in the same elbow that I broke.
