7980557 tn?1395954094 Hello I quit dance when I was about nine and I recently started doing it again. I also started stretching to improve my flexibility. I've improved a lot and can now do the splits however I recently strained my right leg muscles, especially in the thigh. It's not getting any better and I am getting stiffer and less flexible as it is too painful to stretch. Is there any way I could stretch again soon and make the muscle loosen again?
Avatar f tn Any cold pressed oil. It's called perineal massage & you have to do it after a hot shower. If your vagina is a clock (anus being 6 o clock) run your thumb while pulling slightly from 3 o clock (one leg) to 9 o clock (other leg). Dooo not go to 12. Don't know why, but that's what the midwife who ran my birth class told me. Lol so, coconut oil, olive oil work great. I felt a little sore after the first time I did mine. You have to do it consistently for it to be effective.

Avatar m tn You can search the web and find thousands of sites that have core strengthening exercises which are meant to do the same thing -- strengthen the abdominals and deep muscles around the spine, and stretch the muscles of the back and hips. But people in pain may need some guidance, which is where a physiotherapist comes in. Ask your doctor if physical therapy would help your condition on your next visit. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn My core strength is pretty good and it was a consistent part of my workout routine, but what exercises do you suggest? And which hip flexor stretches would you recommend? Also, I forgot to include that studying meant I was sitting in a chair all day and a lot of the time I was leaning forward with my back hunched.

Avatar f tn I had a partial knee replacement last May, I still have pain soreness at the implant site specifically and STIFFNESS! It is difficult to do any walking around without it swelling for 2-3 days sometime longer. I have a friend who is a physical therapist and said the key is following through with the knee exercises daily the first year and as needed weekly from then on but remember to ice pack the knee following exercise. I am still unable to work at a job that requires walking or standing.
Avatar n tn After no improvement I visited a physiotherapist that forced my arm to bend (joint mobilization) and gave me stretching exercises that I should do each day for 2 weeks. The first few days flexibility improved gradually, but then the bursitis came back. I had an X-ray exam but the doctor said that it only showed my old trauma and nothing new. Doctor noted: "Active ROM: slightly reduced extension and great reduction of flexion. Passive ROM: soft endfeel on both extension and flexion.

Avatar n tn Isotonic exercises also build muscle and strength, but unlike isometric exercise they do require movement of the joint. Still, these exercises, such as lifting and lowering the leg from the knee while sitting in a chair, are gentle and use your own body weight to create resistance, which makes them a perfect workout for those with arthritis. Again, work with a physical therapist or medical professional to choose the best exercises for your particular situation.

Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar n tn s a stability or strength issue in that wrist). My main question is what kind of exercises should I do to fix this pain? Would it be doing reps of putting the wrist in flexion with resistance or extension with resistance? Or both perhaps? I also noticed ulnar deviation is weak on that wrist.. could that be linked to pain in push ups or is that unlikely? Thanks for any advice!
Avatar f tn I ride horses and it helps tremendously. At first I was in great pain but after awhile I developed my core and it has helped even with the Cancer which zaps more strength than riding. I can't ride at the moment but I do walk every chance I get. I took my Service Dog Grady for a walk early since it will be 105 today. My balance is better than it has ever been. I was Cantering and lost a stirrup a few weeks ago and never lost my balance in the saddle. I kept following the horse in front of me.
