Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility concepts radius track

flexibility

Avatar n tn Hi, about 4 weeks ago, I suffered a compound fracture to the wrist (the radius to be exact). It was reduced and is still in a cast. I was quoted 6 to 8 weeks for it to heal. The thing is I really can't have this cast on for 6 weeks so I'm thinking of cutting it off myself. I know how to do it and I'm not going to put it through any serious physical stress, I just need the flexibility of my wrist back. What is the worst that could happen after 4 weeks of healing?
Avatar n tn 8080/~diabetes Finally, I highly recommend a book to help you understand the fundamental concepts of glucose management. It's valuable for NON-pumpers, too! Pumping INsulin by John Walsh & Ruth Roberts. I think it's in its 4th edition now and you should be able to find it for under $20 or at your local library. Pumping can be terrific because once we learn the processes, we have much more flexibility and control over insulin delivery.
Avatar n tn Gee, there are some good websites that have the "how to talk to your child about" topics. I do think you are on the right track to start at 8, with simplified concepts that a child can understand. You might try googling "how to talk to child about sex" and see what comes up.
624695 tn?1221841709 It would be nice if we had the ability to customize some aspects of the trackers. For example, on the weight tracker, I use a scale that shows both my weight and my body fat. I would like a place to track my body fat percentage. For now I am just using the "points" section for that.

689327 tn?1240229164 not leaving the house not being able to move because the pain was so severe even doing the most mondane things caused me to cry and not be able to function on any level, in your opinion is taking the medication a way to go as long as you said not upping the dose under any condition.
Avatar f tn my dr is leaning slightly on the side of skelital dynamic surgery on my distal radius after a recent fall. but hes not saying its a must. he says if i dont have it i may develop arthritus in wrist what is your experience?
Avatar f tn The incision is about two inches long and transverse going directly over radius bone and around my wrist. The stitches were removed 13 days after surgery. I also had carpal tunnel surgery at the same time. That incision is in the palm of my hand. A plaster splint was on my hand following surgery. The splint was cutting into the wrist incision and was very painful. After the stitch (one long stitch) was removed the incision opened partially mainly directly over the radius bone.
Avatar f tn Doctor or no doctor? I tripped and fell on my wrist this morning. My wrist twisted to the left. Since then, there's been stiffness and a dull ache in my wrist. The ulna is sticking out a bit farther than it is on the other hand. If I turn my wrist in the same direction it twisted this morning, it hurts but it feels odd. In between my radius and base of thumb feels weird, there's a sliding feeling.
1669542 tn?1303566014 After an auto accident in September diagnosed as a severly comminuted intra articular fx of right distal radius. I had ORIF surgery 5 days later. After many months of PT still pain especially ulnar sided. Diagnosed with ulnar impaction syndrome as the Radius shortened. There is a question of a screw possibly going into the joint, as I have pain when curling my wrist inward. Just had a ct and on the 3d view there is a piece on the dorsal side that appears to be malalligned.
Avatar n tn Broke my radius bone on Thanksgiving and had to get surgery. I had a plate and 7 screws put in. Its been about 5 months and pain in my arm still lingers a few times a week. Is this pain going to last forever? or will it eventually go away over time?
Avatar f tn ) transverse band of sclerosis involving distal lft radius 1cm proximal to radiocarpal articulation from previous fracture. there is benign cortical thickening involving radial aspect of distal ulna, 5cm proximal to the ulnar styloid.

Avatar f tn By the time I got home, my leg was swelling, the pain radius was about 2-3 inches out from the actual damage. I cleaned it best I could with warm water and put a gauze pad over it held in place with athletic tape (don't have band aids big enough). Did the same today, changed it this morning and kept it covered throughout the day. The swelling went down and the pain radius is smaller, but my muscle has gotten really sore. Am I worrying too much or should I actually keep an eye on it?
429209 tn?1224166589 ok what bone what area are the calling it a distal radius frature, carpol frature Meta-carpol frature??? it does make a defferance plus how many bones are involved wa it itra-articulate fracture is it going to requier surgery??? I worked in hand a arm therapy for 6 years. is it casted or splinted is your thumb involed in the cast.
Avatar n tn s-type fracture requiring internal fixation. Basically, the fracture extended into the joint, and the radius bone shattered, and is now about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch shorter than it used to be. It required emergency surgery, and the insertion of a metal plate and several screws. The plate has come out, ostoarthritis has set in, and the pain remains unbearable. I understand fusion surgery *may* help, but much of my pain is under the incision site, not in the joints.
Avatar f tn It is a single patch (of a radius of 2cm) right above my navel. Doesn't hurt, itch or blanch on pressure. Just looks a bit darker to the surrounding skin. What can it be?
Avatar m tn I fractured my left radius bone a week and a half ago. I got my 2nd cast Wed, it is driving me crazy. My knuckles hurt to move them and my finger is triggering but it feels like a throbbing ache all the time. How long can I expect to be this uncomfortable and when will I be able to switch to a brace? It was a simple fracture according to the Xray, doesn't feel simple though, LOL.
Avatar m tn went to er and has fx radius by elbow. need to see ortho for an update. have all release papers from er. please help this poor guy has nothing.
