We used the wall a lot, did a lot of breathing and relaxation and did a lot of balance and strengthening poses bc the way she put it "we need to balance the pregnancy flexibility with strength" (so we don't just fall over with our looser (is that a word?) muscles. Anyway, I live in the middle of nowhere, so I actually have to drive an hour to town for this class. I think it's worth it. Hands down.

Avatar f tn I love Zumba too but i wouldn't starting Zuma though if you weren't doing it before your pregnancy only because it is a lot of jumping and can be intense. Yoga is a good idea. It really is a good workout and you don't bounce around or exert too much. It is amazing for strength and flexibility and burns calories too.

What about acupuncture? I did this with my second pregnancy for my migraines and morning sickness. I'm just starting to lose my pregnancy weight from my third child who was a csection 15 months ago but I had some complications that hendered my weight loss but those are getting under control now slowly and surely.

Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.

Basic kegals involve squeezing your pelvic floor muscles tightly and holding for a count of ten, repeat 20 times. Do that about 5 times a day every day. You can also hold them at different levels (as I'd going up and down an elevator 3 or 4 stories then stopping and holding at each level.

Yoga will help you build core strength and improve your flexibility (and can really make you sweat!), whereas plyometrics is a bit higher impact, and involves taking steps, doing lunges, and even jumping around.
