Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility basketball

flexibility

700000 tn?1231287536 The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if this issue I had at birth could be effecting me when playing sports? My ankles tend to be quite weak so I always wear basketball boots to support them when exercising. I broke my leg and ankle quite badly a couple of years back and since then I've found it difficult to excercise and play sports the way I did before. As I was in a cast for 6 months I couldn't train and since then my ankles have remained weak and I sometimes get foot cramps when running.
Avatar f tn Running and other strenuous lower limb activities, like basketball and other sports which include flexing the muscle, should be avoided until the pain subsides and is no longer elicited by activity. In conjunction with rest, anti-inflammatory treatments such as icing and drugs, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (in particular, NSAID gel) may be used. Over-the-counter pain relievers can also be taken, though there is some controversy over their effectiveness.
Avatar m tn I had a basketball injury today- a player ran his knee into the side of my knee. I went down immediately. I thought it was a knee injury b/c that is what hurt first. Then the pain moved down my leg to the top of my ankle just above the foot. Then the pain moved back up just below the knee to the outside of my upper calf - between the calf and the shin bone. My left side is sore and has a numming feeling. What do you think this injury is?
Avatar m tn Ok, so I train gymnastics and aikido (marshal art) have trained athletics, basketball, I play football (English one), volleyball, I train for flexibility and strength every day...........so I'm all around, a pretty active and I'd dare to say fit. I have no overweight issues (75 kg and around 183 cm tall) but recently, in the past month, I have noticed that I've got a bit of a problem.
Avatar n tn It tests your physical endurance for sure. Basically you do extreme flexibility and strength poses in a blaring hot room that is hotter than a sauna. Supposedly really healthy for you. But people who cannot endure it physically end up puking sometimes. Also, always do some cardio with strength training. Are you in any sports? Could be could to balance it out. You need to learn the dangers of dehydration. If you work out a lot, you can't just drink plain water.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar n tn now my question if i wiped my lip with my jersey that i used while playing basketball and if theres a blood from another basketball player in my jersey? do you think i have a risk for hiv or hcv or HBV? 3. Do you think it will be consider our jersey sando as a environment surfaces?
Avatar n tn More than a week ago, I got poked in the eye while playing basketball and some white part of my eye was blood red. I felt some discomfort that day, but it went away the next day. I use some eye drops to clear up the redness. After a week, It cleared up, but there's a small red blood spot on my eye. What should I about it?
Avatar f tn im definetly a basketball all out in front you can see from my pics and im for sure having a boy cant compare to any other pgs though this is my 1st one! im very low as well hes buried down in my pelvis the pressure is alot!
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
Avatar f tn Not very true, my stomach looks like a basketball and im having a girl..
Avatar m tn would you allow your patients who have the similar condition to me to play basketball?or are their any constraints on playing basketball?(frequency, body contact, head injury, etc.)i've been playing basketball for 3 years but i have much concern about RD these days so I stopped playing basketball 8 months before.Could you give me some suggestions about the prevention of RD?what are some other activities that you will tell your patients with high myopia NOT to do?
Avatar m tn Can you include basketball on the exercise tracker please? I would imagine it is more widely done than som others that ar on there (football), etc.) Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar m tn If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!
Avatar m tn I went to the eye doctor last year and they told me I had lattice degeneration and the doctor told me that if I get a concussion I could lose my sight but I don't believe that. I went to the doctor again in January and they told me it hasn't gotten worse. The doctors said I couldn't play basketball. I haven't ever gotten a concussion while playing basketball. Sadly, I'm the one giving concussions.
Avatar m tn Yesterday afternoon, I was playing basketball for two hours. When I get back home, I found there was a lot of blood on my underwear, which means my hemorrhoids was bleeding when I was playing basketball. As I was playing the centre in the game, my butt had a lot of touch with the competitors in the basketball game.
