I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.

1243543 tn?1269124022 if you are good at research and reading, start looking it up... the anxiety isn't helping, so if you can find some relaxing things to take up, do this. if you 'feel' inflammation and pains might be due to a certain food or chemical, e.g. wheat, milk, maybe start decreasing these and see if it helps. are you a workaholic? take a look at your activities/ work, and check that it's reasonable; overworking places such a strain on the body over time which tears it right down.

Avatar n tn Hi, My three and a half year old daughter has lately been avoiding to participate in group activities. She goes to a Montessori 3 year kinder and she is a mini tigers taekwondo club. She stopped liking to play with the group. She decides to sit and watch. She asks mum to tell who ever is in charge that she doesn't want to play. Mummy ignores it. She is also afraid of loud noises. I am really curious whether this is something that I can develop my child to overcome or get rid off?
175734 tn?1225134440 Congratulations!!! How old is your daughter? I think it is AWESOME when parents are active in their kids sports & activities. Sadly it is not so common anymore. My nieces are both in soccer. The oldest will be 12 in Nov and she is in competitive soccer and they travel all over our state and the surrounding ones for tournaments. She is really good! Some may remember me bragging about her a few months ago when her team took 2nd in the state.

I haven't run since the injury occurred. I've played football (soccer) a few times, but not for over a month now and there isn't much of an improvement. What can I do about this? For instance, I have chiari with syringomyelia - it is because of my syrinx that I choose not to do things that will "jar" my neck like roller coasters and horse back riding. But - even though it is probably more dangerous - I still ski. I just can't give up EVERYTHING I love. I figure, if I want to be careful, I'll stay in bed all day!! But I'd rather keep living.
479581 tn?1317757488 Thank you for your answer. I got a 2nd opinion today....this doc says not to fuse the big toe (he recommends doing something surgically to the tendon to gain more flexiblity). His greatest concern was the 2nd toe. He says it is dislocated (I stubbed it about 4 wks post surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago). He recommends a "salvage forefoot reconstruction" and wants me to see a foot/ankle surgeon. I want to make the right about my foot and appreciate your input.
