Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril with hydrocodone

flexeril

1653969 tn?1390331661 The instant sleep thing will go away after you establish a routine with it. Wish that I could really help you - but yours isnt a common complaint with flexeril. Do you do any breathing exercises? A couple of minutes of tai chi and meditation and particularly the breathing exercises are very valid therapies.
Avatar n tn flexeril is extremely sedating. in combo with hydrocodone, the answer is NO it wouldn't be a good idea to drive.
Avatar f tn I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 4 sometimes 5 per day for 2 years. i had a fusion in my back and severe arthritis. i will be married 15 years next month to the best husband and I have 3 of the most awesome children who are now 13, 9 & 9). About 6 months ago my husband took the RX bottle and locked it in the safe (i have no key). And would leave me 3 pills to get me through u til he got home . My 4 th was at bedtime. 3 days ago I decided I want my life back.
Avatar m tn I am on day 4 of withdrawal from hydrocodone. Is there anything OTC that I can take to help me sleep? Would Zyprexa help at all? I had been taking 20 per day for about 10 years. Over the past 2-3 weeks, I have been tapering them back, down to about 10 per day. I have taken 0 over the past four days. I haven't slept in several days. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Avatar f tn After four days in the hospital I was released with a number of prescriptions. Right now I take two 20mg OxyContin daily, two 5mg Flexeril daily which is replaced with one 5mg Valium at night, and one 10mg Oxycodone Acetaminophen every 5 hours (I was on one every four hours but downgraded to every five hours yesterday). My doctor also gave me a prescription for Hydrocodone Acetaminophen to take instead of the Oxycodone for when I was ready.
Avatar f tn I have to take care of both elder parents, mother with dementia. I have a full load daily. Found that I will run out of meds which I have done currently. having withdrawals which are terrible. i have been in bed 2 days and feel so sick. Fever, pain, chills, fatigue, insomnia. I am trying b6 , coconut water, Motrin, Xanax. Starting day three nothing is helping. Any suggestions. I can't stay down in bed a week.
Avatar f tn You have to be careful what you take with suboxone. Things like Ativan are extremely dangerous to take with Sub. So are some of the really strong muscle relaxers. Please becareful with these.
Avatar m tn You should be OK on those things but I would not start at the full doses of L-Tyrosine. Build up 500mg at a time and see how you do. You shouldn't need the valium with the Flexeril. Neurontin sometimes has helped with w/ds so that should actually benefit you.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I've tried both Soma and Flexeril (not at same time!) for muscle relaxers (I have fibromyalgia, lupus, severe arthritis). Really the only side effect I've experienced with the Flexeril is that it makes me VERY sleepy, but when I'm hurting and having trouble getting the rest that I need, that actually is a good thing!
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar m tn I went to see the Ortho today and he prescribed 10mg hyro and 10 mg Flexeril until I can schedule PT again. I am going to make sure to go through all 3 weeks so that my cheap insurance will pay for an MRI. I had one a little over a year ago thatt revealed a bulged disc at L4 or L5...can't remember which. My insurance at that time paid with no questions. My question is this, I am taking so many meds that can cause drowsiness, I'm afraid I will be a zombie.
Avatar m tn I just seen that you posted. Sorry so long to get back with you. The flexeril never helped me. It did not even make me sleepy. Why don't you call the posion control hotline and believe it or not they can help you. If not they can give you a number to call. If you don't want to do that call your local er and let them know what's going on for him.
Avatar f tn well,im back....i posted about 2 years ago....did two days n went back. BUT its all different now..my so called free pharmacy is no longer available as of sept 15. i took my last 30mg of mdone 10 days ago...this is the only time ive HAD TO.....other times i jus knw i needed to but couldnt cuz it was n my face daily. so, ive been takin hydrocodone 10 & 7.5 n the day time.n i knw im harming myself cuz i can take 8 10s at a time wit no effect...
Avatar f tn Before getting pregnant i was taking tramadol and flexeril to take the edge off if my jaw started locking up. Now my ob just has me on the lowest dose of flexeril but it seems to do nothing for it. Just 10 more weeks though i think i can make it if i've gotten this far.
757527 tn?1237893063 My doctor prescribed 5mg Flexeril daily. I took one last night and my pain went from a 8 (on a 10 scale) to about a 3. Has anyone else tried these? Can they be used long term? I'd rather not have to rely on medicine, but if this is helping me, I may have to stick with it. I also get myofascial massages, use warm heat, take Vit B50, and am trying some new supplements for muscles and joints.
Avatar m tn It is difficult to quit on your own, but with commitment and dedication it is possible. I have dealt with hundreds of addicts who have all told me horror stories of doing it by themselves. I would only guess that if are successful in doing it at home you don't end up in my clinic. Just in case you are curious, it takes us three to four days to detox a patient and get him/her back home drug free and feeling well on Naltrexone therapy (no opiates).
Avatar m tn m allowed to take hydrocodone that has 325 mg tylenol up to 3 times a day, and the same for flexeril 10mg, for back pain/sciatica. Ibuprofen is alright as well, sometimes that is all I take. Moderation is the key here, and absolutely no alcohol.
Avatar m tn Hey Lynn... Congratulations for reclaiming your life! I too, have severe endemetriosis (amongst other things) and was on opiates for a long time before going c/t 36 days ago...I just wanted to add-hot baths with epsom salts, fluid, vitamins, heat heat heat HYDRATE... And be careful with the tramadol and t-3's..They are no different than the hydrocodone when metabolized-so really it's prolonging the process..Have you spoken with your doctor about what you're doing?
Avatar f tn And sorry to hear about your experience with Flexeril. I have not heard of any dependency issues of that drug before. It does make sense that your body can become accustom to any medication. Have you discussed this with your PCP? As Sandee said I don't know how many you are taking per day not the dose. I think I would just gradually reduce this medication. Are you sure the migraines are related to the discontinuation of the medication....or could their be another factor going on?
Avatar n tn Once at the ER they took my history took a chest xray and an EKG and told me I had back sprain. Sent me home with Flexeril and hydrocodone. I have had a back sprain before and never felt like this before. I still feel pain. Now a new symptom has appeared. I have cold sensation spreading through my legs and arms. I have tried to start walking short distances again and even on the Hydrocodone I am in tears.
Avatar m tn m unsure of just how damaging Flexeril is to the kidneys. My only other medicine history has been with Ketoconazole, and that stuff is practically toxic for your liver.
Avatar f tn Have u tried taking Tylenol?
Avatar f tn I have still been having problems with pain 1-1 1/2 hours before I can have more hydrocodone and so I am always sure to take the hydrocodone right at 4 hours and I always take 2 tabs. I noticed that the prescription bottles both said no refills. Anyway I called my pharmacy to obtain more refils for for hydrocodone. When the new bottle was picked up from the pharmacy, the lable now say "MUST LAST 7 DAYS". I did the math anad there is no way 40 tabs of hydro can last me 7 days!
Avatar m tn I don't know if I will be much help with your problem. There are two issues you are struggling with; one being tolerance, where any pain medication will slowly lose effectiveness, and the other being the anatomical source of the pain. Any relief from a narcotic (oxycodone, hydrocodone, demerol etc) will, be shot-lived; The receptors for pain medication in your brain simply adjust to whatever you are taking, and the dose must be increased to relieve the pain again.
