Flexeril with aleve

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril with aleve

flexeril

Skelaxin also doesn't work for me, however, it works quite well for my dad (who has a back problem with muscle spasms). flexeril works pretty well for me, but like you, it makes me VERY sleepy. My prescription for it calls for three a day - but believe me, if I were to take 3 in a day, I wouldn't get out of bed! I've also tried Soma and that also worked pretty well for me and was not as sedating (for me anyway) as the flexeril.
I have been able to keep my symptoms manageable for the time being with Neurontin, flexeril. I am sleeping better now, and I am taking Provigil to help with the fatigue. It's not perfect but it does help. It's better than nothing. I also take Aleve either prescription strength or double OTC. I just read an article about someone with a progressive from of MS who had started a new medication with positive results.
you never know if you will have a reaction to a medication and if it was not prescribed to you and you received it from someone else that person could potentially be in trouble with the law. I do not believe flexeril is addictive. But, please call your doctor instead. That's just my two cents! WTG for being clean from vicodin for 3 weeks!!! AWESOME!!! Keep staying strong hun!!!! you know, Ibuprofen or naproxin works great too and you can get them over the counter. Good luck!!!
The first time this happened (about a week ago) the headache stayed with me for a full 24 hours and both Excedrin and Aleve did nothing to dissipate the headache. The second just occurred this afternoon and my head is still throbbing as I type this. Scary stuff. Has anyone been able to figure out what is going on? I'm going to make an appointment to see my doctor, but it would be good if I could help point her in the right direction.
I've also had a doctor who was absolutely unwilling to treat me with anything other than IBUPROFEN or prescription strength aleve. My current doctor (Who has been my doctor for several years) is actually giving me pain medication that works at least partly while we go through the motions of getting the proper tests done. RunningMom~ My Catscan was absolutely clear, nothing abnormal showed on it and the only thing they saw was mild scoliosis and mild arthritis.
If you were my patient and wanted a muscle relaxer without a prescription I would advise Ibuprofen or Aleve in combination with massage therapy. All of the muscle relaxers such as flexeril require a prescription, but there are also some herbal products and supplements which can be purchased over the counter and might help--those you will have to "trial and error" to find out which works best for you. Good luck!
aleve, inversion table, chiropractic care with physical therapy (2.5 months), acupuncture, 1 steroid injection in the epidural space (doesn't hurt as bad as you think), massage therapy, fish oil, (it has omega 3 which is the body's natural antifimfalmmatory), antiimflammatory pill and muscle relaxers(prescription), decompression table, and I'm getting my 2nd steroid injection in two days. I've tried a lot of things and done a lot of research for my problem.
Right now I'm just keeping aleve and tylenol on board around the clock along with flexeril, using hot baths and taking unisom at bedtime. I have to say I'm proud of myself lol. once we get a prior auth for an MRI I can get it and then start with spinal injections or SIJ injections (we aren't sure what the exact problem is.
If he cant or wont get medical help and perscription pain meds, aleve might help. If he doesnt want opiates but can get scripts then neurontin might help. It helps with nerve pain. I take it as I have nerve damage in my spine. I also take oxycodone and the 2 of them work well together for me.
We cannot figure out what is wrong with my mom. developed a new symptom today that is worrying, tiny veins on her fingertips "poking" out/very visible took down all her symptoms & a little bit of what happened before. It's in the best order I could remember please help..spent $1000 we don't have - Went for periodontal cleaning day prior. Had been in severe tooth pain for 3 days. Had 2 antibiotic pellets inserted into gums.
I have was diagnosed with MS in 2003. Among my first symptoms were spasticity and leg pain. Although most of my other symptoms have subsided in the past few years the leg pain is still present. I have been on several medications to help with this, neurontin and valium the most. I actually found this forum when I was trying to google spacicity this last week, Trying to find any possible remedy for the pain.
So I just took them not too long with flexeril. I'm feeling OK now. I took vitamin pill last night before I went to bed. I'll take vitamin in couple of hrs again today. I'll wait at least 1 hr to take Xanax. I asked pharmcist about if I can take Xanax & flexeril with Toradol. She said yes. So it should be fine. I'll keep you posted. I'm going to take a nap since I only slept few hours.

Pain is sharp in one spot on top of my right shoulder blade, neck is stiff and hurts when I lift and turn my head, pain in most of right arm which increases when I try to use for anything, and now the tip of my forefinger is numb. I've tried maximum doses for ibuprofen, Tylenol, Aleve, IcyHot, flexeril, and even tried one of my brother's hydrocodone, all of which barely touched the pain. I haven't slept more than 5 or 6 hours total in 4 days. Please help.
If you are unsure if your med is an SSRI, ask your pharmacist (many anti-depressants are). They is a contraindication with these two meds., if you take them together, you will almost always develop what is called serotonin syndrome. In short, it causes a build up of serotonin in the brain and can lead to headaches/migraines, seizures and even death. Please be careful if you use tramadol either necessarily or recreationally.
The pain in my neck, and right shoulder have finally been somewhat alleviated by lortabs. Tramadol, Tyenol-3, flexeril, Aleve, Motrin, and all the other over the counter pain relievers have had no impact what so ever. I am a seamstress and had almost been totally disabled by this pain, till I started taking the lortabs. Will continuing pain meds that allow me to work do any additional permanent damage to me physically?
PT was doing a manual adjustment did wrong leg and caused major pain, sat too much. 3. was laying on bed with knees bent and left knee fell out to left side (free fall) and I felt a tear but don't know if there was. I have had chronic pain since in one spot on my low back near the L5-S1 area on the buttock sort of near the SI joint. I had a MRI of lower back and bone scan before injury #3 and it was totally normal. I had a hip Xray after injury 3 and it was also normal.
Pregnancy can take someone with discoid lupus and put it into systemic lupus! I've found aleve to be much more effective than ibuprophen... when the ibuprophen wears off the symptoms just return, making it no more than a band-aid, not a real solution. I hate the brain fog... and do find that it's aggravated every two weeks when my hormone levels change. I try to develop repetitious habits so that I seem less forgetful. If I give myself a pause, what I generally need to know comes back to me.
Hello, I was just diagnosed with HEP C. My doc put me on tramadol. It not even Touching my pain. And I don't like how it makes me feel. can you please give me a List of meds I can bring up to my doc that is safe to take with my liver. PLEASE HELP I am in alot of pain. I have also been dealing with kidney stones for 2 months and The pain is unbareable! PLEASE HELP! Thank u!
I WOULD SUGGEST USING EITHER ADVIL, TYLENOL OR ALEVE TO HELP WITH THE INFLAMATION. MY PHYSICAL THERAPIST USES AN ULTRASOUND MACHINE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HELP WITH THE PAIN ALSO. I HAVE HAD 10 EPIDURAL INJECTIONS & THE FIRST TIME I GOT THEM THEY DIDN'T HELP, BUT I TRIED TWO OTHER PEOPLE & THE THIRD PERSON THAT GAVE ME THE INJECTIONS GOT IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE & IT REALLY HELPED ME FOR 4 TO 5 MONTHS. SOMETIMES you JUST HAVE TO TRY DIFFERENT PEOPLE UNTIL you FIND A GOOD ONE.
My boyfriend is now on his way up to the urgent care center to see what is wrong with his back. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS SYMTOM OF WITHDRAWL WHERE you GET SEVERE BACK PAIN? IF YES PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I DON'T WANT HIM GOING UP THERE AND GETTING MORE PAIN PILLS OR ANYTHING AT ALL.
Went for my Tysabri today, #24, and thought I did real good……..well, then I celebrated by taking myself to Barnes & Noble for coffee and a new magazine or two………….and of course, fell flat on my face with one of my famous "falls"……..sigh…………then to the clinic for a visit unrelated to the fall, only to learn I have strep throat……… can I just get one week right? LOL Sarah hoping the dog grows up twice as soon as she's supposed to……..
I do wish they helped me more for the pain-pain, ha. Other than otc pain meds, Excedrin, or aleve. I do have muscle relaxers like flexeril and a bottle of doxepin ( sinequan ) but I haven't taken either in a very long time, not even when I was in withdrawls, I guess I just was afraid to take them. although I should have taken whatever worked, ?? Muscle relaxers just make me so very foggy the next day, miserable.
I have been prescribed Oxycontin 20mg (3x a day), flexeril 10mg (3x a day), and Lunesta (to help me sleep). The Lunesta was just added a couple months ago, but I have been taking the Oxycontin and flexeril for almost a year now. I had no problems other than some memory loss up until a month or so ago. Now, I find myself very depressed. I cry all the time and since my doctor added the Lunesta, I have horrible nightmares every night.
I made myself so nauses I started dry heaving. I fell asleep with the bucket in bed with me and my head on side. Laast was not as bad. Mostly in 1 arm but I did the dry heave thing and was asleep ALOT faster than the previous night. I did also end up taking xanax the first night to see if that helped. I took 2 1/2 so I am scared to stopped suddenly since stopping 3 other meds so I am cutting down 1/2 per day until i am down to zero.
Not sure if that made sense, but I hope you catch the drift. Not sure about combining flexeril with Dilaudid, but if your doc prescribed, hopefully they looked at the interactions and cleared it. Maybe someone else here has experience with combining them... Good luck to you Gem.
thighs have a burning achiness and calves more of a cramping) Last week one day I took flexeril 2.5mg. and Aleve. I was much better in about two hours. I have since gotten magnesium and will see how it goes on that . Yesterday more leg pain with the mag. on board, maybe it needs to build in system. does any one know .?? For TN I heard there's a nerve block???
I would say that the pain is likely nowhere near as bad as some of you experience, but with such a long lasting injury I can really sympathize with the members here. At this point, I take 500 mg aspirin or Tylenol or Aleve three to four nights a week, in order to sleep. This is a big improvement over the early years, when nothing helped. Or should I say, when the doctors didn't seem to know what to do for me.
I have some flexeril , does it really work?? I took an Aleve but its not working . I feel like a whiner ( I mean winner) :)) Any suggestions Has any one heard of magnesium for cramping .?? ( I don't have any , just wondering ) I also don't know the difference between cramps and spasms .... yes I read Quix's thing that was bumped this afternoon, x2 . I'm either really dense or brain fog but I can't tell what I'm experiencing , why the pain. Its about an 8 1/2.
