Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril use in pregnancy

flexeril

Avatar f tn I need to know if any of you ladies have ever taken flexeril during your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn There are no adequate studies on the use of Flexeril in pregnant women. It is not known if Flexeril is secreted in milk. However, because Flexeril is related to tricyclic antidepressants and some of these are excreted in breast milk, caution is advised in nursing mothers.

Avatar f tn Flexeril is a Pregnancy Class B medication which means there's been no reported issues with pregnant women and animal studies did not show birth defects. However there have been no studies directly on pregnant women. Most OBs are okay with women taking class B medication but with careful monitoring and minimal use. Talk to your OB on Monday before you take any and they will let you know your best course of action. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn Flexeril is not addictive if you use it only when needed I took it for years for a bad back but you dont get hi on it so for the most part if taken as directed your ok just stay away from soma that is a different story...................................Gnarly.....................................
20919253 tn?1651735373 Buy Darvocet Online Introduction Choosing to live with severe pain makes it hard to function daily. It affects each part of life, from sanitation to trying to cook, friendships to falling asleep. I've had painful symptoms since I was in preschool.
Avatar f tn Opiates are safe in pregnancy they don't cause birth defects this includes methadone which is used as a form of pain management not just for drug addicts. There are some risks of baby having withdrawal at delivery but this can be handled easily especially if your OB knows about it prior to delivery. Keep taking your meds as prescribed if you stop cold turkey it can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
Avatar f tn Congrats on the 3 weeks. I would take aleve myself. If my back hurts at night I take advil PM .
733362 tn?1489794936 I have been taking 3/4 of a 10mg Flexerit once a day before bed Pain Management Dr put me on 4-1/2 yrs ago while detoxing from Valium (horrible). I'm sure God brought me here getting off Valium. People here helped me so much like Cricket, AtThebeach and many others. I couldn't have done it without them and our Heavenly Father. Was on Gabapentin (for me is a horrible drug). He offered that again, maybe won't be as bad now, not withdrawing from Valium.
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi Tuckamore, FYI, I went to the doctor yesterday and he said Flexeril is known to cause skipping heart beats and other problems like that and I have to go off of it tonight. So, I went off the Flexeril last night and has some trouble sleeping but took an antihistamine and I seem to be doing ok today. So, far my heartbeat is better. I hope that does the trick. I looked up the side effects of Flexeril and <1% get the arhythimias and so I guess I'm in the 1% as usual.
757527 tn?1237893063 My doctor prescribed 5mg Flexeril daily. I took one last night and my pain went from a 8 (on a 10 scale) to about a 3. Has anyone else tried these? Can they be used long term? I'd rather not have to rely on medicine, but if this is helping me, I may have to stick with it. I also get myofascial massages, use warm heat, take Vit B50, and am trying some new supplements for muscles and joints.
604266 tn?1236358985 Hey all, Hope everyones holiday weekend was fab:) My pain doc prescribed some Flexeril for me today. I'm excited because it's non-narcotic and I'd rather just keep away from the any narcs. But my little(yeah, right)fear of medication is getting to me. I relaized the muscle relaxants might help because as soon as I started ambien my pain decreased some.
Avatar n tn Upon being released from te hospital postaurgery I was given Norflex and told to use that instea of the flexeril (that I have been taking every night for probably over a year). Flexeril is a more immediate thing, the Norflex is ER which is extended release so it supposed to last longer...for me, it didn't work...I stuck with flexeril! Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn s own, but the only ways I know to treat it is by medicines. If untreated in pregnancy it can cause preterm labour among other complications. Have you tried to get on insurance? The government provides insurance to pregnant women so that you can get the proper care you need. It should also cover medicines and treatments needed. Get a second opinion about the Flexeril if you're still unsure.
237152 tn?1206651036 Flexeril will knock me out but I do have a hangover in the morning....I only take 1/2 of a 10 mg tablet when I have to....
Avatar f tn is there any thing I can do or take to ease the pain in my lower back? Its constant...
Avatar n tn I'm worried! My fiancee' has been prescribed Tramadol, which worked very well for him but he has gone through 40 pills in 10 days and the way his dr. wrote his script it says "use 1-2 tablets every 8 hours as needed" so he cannot get a refill for another 2 weeks. He saw a local dr. who prescribed Flexeril, Percocet and Naproxen.

Avatar f tn Hi for almost a year I’ve been having several symptoms that I now believe point to serotonin syndrome. Excessive sweating in normal temperatures, tremors, IBS, tachycardia & many more. All started after starting adderall, shortly after my dose was upped on that & depakote upped. Also take trazodone, gabapentin & flexeril & melatonin. Taking 2 of these or more can cause it.. Anyone w/ info or experience?
