Flexeril normal dosage

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril normal dosage

flexeril

Avatar n tn Both bottles state the dosage on them that you can take. The Flexeril I believe was given to me after I had some dental work done to help loosen my jaw/neck muscles because I ended up with Trismus. And the Norflex was given to me by my old PCP awhile ago because I mentioned during a visit my neck and shoulders were chronically tight. I suppose I could call my NL and see which one she recommends.... I just Hate calling there!!
757527 tn?1237893063 My family doctor recently perscribed both Flexeril and Mobic. After a month without a huge improvement he increased the dosage, and wants me to continue another month. I have gotten some relief however my main complaints from a bad fall 4 months ago, have not improved. He has not shown any concern on how long its safe. I have done research on both, and the reccomendations are for short term use. He thinks I have Fibromyalgia, but I don't think so.
Avatar f tn of Flexeril....I was prescribed 1 - 2 5 mg. tabs three times daily to deal with spasms. Since insurance would not approve the extended release flexeril, I had to stay with the generic and was told BY MY DOC to take 2 tabs 3 times daily for the spasms. I am also prescribed Dilaudid (2 mg. up to 4 times per day), but I don't use more than 1 per day now....pain is not so bad...just the spasms -- especially after PT!!!
Avatar f tn ll take the muscle weakness over the nerve pain, especially if it is supposed to be temporary which I assume that it since my dosage was just increased a couple of weeks ago. I told her that I was more concerned about the muscle spasms. She asked about my Baclofen dose. I reminded her that I didn't take Baclofen because I had bad side effects to it when I did try it.
20919253 tn?1651735373 Buy Darvocet Online Introduction Choosing to live with severe pain makes it hard to function daily. It affects each part of life, from sanitation to trying to cook, friendships to falling asleep. I've had painful symptoms since I was in preschool.
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar m tn Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
Avatar f tn I have taken flexeril, could not take more than a 1/4 or I would feel very odd. Maybe that was a good thing. You can get a pill cutter and start cutting your dose. We aren't allowed to talk about how to dose hopefully you can get the jist of this. While trying to wean down I would up your vitamins. There is something called a Thomas Recipe but that is for narcotics,so not sure if it would work for you. Your muscles may need more magnesium than normal.
2170635 tn?1357911686 m going to prescribed u some flexeril (muscle relaxer) which is a category B safe, because she said she took it while she was pregnant! So my intentions were to fill it the same day but I've been super busy with my bbyshwr and the pain is worse whn I'm putting on pants r underwear, rolling over I'm bed, r just lifting my legs.
1460652 tn?1340248730 has anyone ever had pvcs/pacs while on the muscle relaxant flexeril? for the last couple of months my constant pvcs have been actually somewhat manageable, or at least tolerable. then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed Flexeril for over a year, as a muscle relaxant for long term back and neck pain... I was told it was a 'safe' drug, and not to worry about it - it was not addicting. Now, after taking it for this long, I have re-read the patient information packet, and see that it is only for short term use, and I cannot find information on how to titrate off. I get migraine headaches whenever I stop taking it for any length of time, as well as other symptoms...
Avatar m tn You will be normal again......I would avoid the flexeril. Have you checked out the amino acids in the health pages?
Avatar m tn I am new to this site, saw your post, and feel compelled to tell you about my experience with Flexeril. Several years ago I was having serious neck spasms, so my doctor prescribed Flexeril. I don't remember the milligram, it was standard, and I was to take 3 a day. The first day I took three, I found myself looking at my bottle of pain medication thinking about taking the whole bottle at once! I immediately threw the Flexeril in the trash.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Thanks for your advice and the link. I'll take a look at the link. I think they use beta blockers for PVC but I'm not sure. I am getting symptoms like fatigue and sometimes a flutter or shortness of breath. One of the side effects of flexeril is irregular heart beat. I'm glad I had a normal EKg or ECG and that my doctor already said my heart sounds very strong. So, I'll be going in today to see if they want to stop meds and/or try the halter. It is always something, I swear.
1415174 tn?1453243103 m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.
Avatar m tn I went to see the Ortho today and he prescribed 10mg hyro and 10 mg Flexeril until I can schedule PT again. I am going to make sure to go through all 3 weeks so that my cheap insurance will pay for an MRI. I had one a little over a year ago thatt revealed a bulged disc at L4 or L5...can't remember which. My insurance at that time paid with no questions. My question is this, I am taking so many meds that can cause drowsiness, I'm afraid I will be a zombie.
1069117 tn?1320276427 I had ACDF on 2 levels 3 weeks ago, and am wondering if it is normal to have pain in my arms now? I didn't have pain here pre-op, but now this is my major source of pain.
Avatar f tn Alcohol and flexeril are both central nervous system suppressants and consuming alcohol while taking flexeril compounds the drowsiness, confused thinking, respiratory suppression of the muscle relaxant. Flexeril/alcohol combos are frequent causes of accidental overdose. I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.
Avatar n tn I don't know, I developed muscle tightening on use and cramping and pain while on a T3 only (Cytomel) thyroid hormone replacement, and like the poster, it is so bad that I also have issues walking. Switched back to Tirosint (T4 with no fillers) and still have the problem. Fwiw, mucsle cramping IS a known hypo-thyroid symptom. Despite lay people on the internet suggesting otherwise, adrenals have no bearing in thyroid conversion.
Avatar f tn Flexeril is not addictive if you use it only when needed I took it for years for a bad back but you dont get hi on it so for the most part if taken as directed your ok just stay away from soma that is a different story...................................Gnarly.....................................
Avatar n tn Is this muscle twitching experienced by other Zoloft users, and will this be permanent? Why does it happen? And what usually stops it, lowering or raising the dosage?
Avatar f tn Hi for almost a year I’ve been having several symptoms that I now believe point to serotonin syndrome. Excessive sweating in normal temperatures, tremors, IBS, tachycardia & many more. All started after starting adderall, shortly after my dose was upped on that & depakote upped. Also take trazodone, gabapentin & flexeril & melatonin. Taking 2 of these or more can cause it.. Anyone w/ info or experience?
