I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 4 sometimes 5 per day for 2 years. i had a fusion in my back and severe arthritis. i will be married 15 years next month to the best husband and I have 3 of the most awesome children who are now 13, 9 & 9). About 6 months ago my husband took the RX bottle and locked it in the safe (i have no key).And would leave me 3 pills to get me through u til he got home . My 4 th was at bedtime.
3 days ago I decided I want my life back.
I am on day 4 of withdrawal from hydrocodone. Is there anything OTC that I can take to help me sleep? Would Zyprexa help at all? I had been taking 20 per day for about 10 years. Over the past 2-3 weeks, I have been tapering them back, down to about 10 per day. I have taken 0 over the past four days. I haven't slept in several days. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
After four days in the hospital I was released with a number of prescriptions. Right now I take two 20mg OxyContin daily, two 5mg Flexeril daily which is replaced with one 5mg Valium at night, and one 10mg Oxycodone Acetaminophen every 5 hours (I was on one every four hours but downgraded to every five hours yesterday). My doctor also gave me a prescription for Hydrocodone Acetaminophen to take instead of the Oxycodone for when I was ready.
But for right now, to deal with your withdrawal symptoms, see if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep, Clonidine helps with the creepy-crawly feeling and helps stabilize the blood pressure. All of these medications will make your life easier during this time.
Ive been taking 2 mg of a suboxone strip every 3-4 days , I have extender restless legs that keep me from getting any rest/sleep. Ido not want to swap hydrocodone for subs so what's the correct way to taper SHORT TERM... Please help I know the longer I take sub the longer it's gonna take to get off!!!!
Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
well,im back....i posted about 2 years ago....did two days n went back. BUT its all different now..my so called free pharmacy is no longer available as of sept 15. i took my last 30mg of mdone 10 days ago...this is the only time ive HAD TO.....other times i jus knw i needed to but couldnt cuz it was n my face daily. so, ive been takin hydrocodone 10 & 7.5 n the day time.n i knw im harming myself cuz i can take 8 10s at a time wit no effect...
I went to see the Ortho today and he prescribed 10mg hyro and 10 mg Flexeril until I can schedule PT again. I am going to make sure to go through all 3 weeks so that my cheap insurance will pay for an MRI. I had one a little over a year ago thatt revealed a bulged disc at L4 or L5...can't remember which. My insurance at that time paid with no questions.
My question is this, I am taking so many meds that can cause drowsiness, I'm afraid I will be a zombie.

It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter.
The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
m allowed to take hydrocodone that has 325 mg tylenol up to 3 times a day, and the same for flexeril 10mg, for back pain/sciatica.
Ibuprofen is alright as well, sometimes that is all I take. Moderation is the key here, and absolutely no alcohol.
I have been on hydrocodone for about 2 years for endometriosis and polycystic ovary syndrome. Long story short I took the pills as needed, and it started being almost every day. About 8 months ago I didnt have pain one day and didnt take it. Huge mistake. RLS and upset stomach are my main issues. I didnt even realize what was going on until I thought about it.
I have been prescribed Flexeril for over a year, as a muscle relaxant for long term back and neck pain... I was told it was a 'safe' drug, and not to worry about it - it was not addicting. Now, after taking it for this long, I have re-read the patient information packet, and see that it is only for short term use, and I cannot find information on how to titrate off.
I get migraine headaches whenever I stop taking it for any length of time, as well as other symptoms...
Alcohol and flexeril are both central nervous system suppressants and consuming alcohol while taking flexeril compounds the drowsiness, confused thinking, respiratory suppression of the muscle relaxant. Flexeril/alcohol combos are frequent causes of accidental overdose.
I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.
Once at the ER they took my history took a chest xray and an EKG and told me I had back sprain. Sent me home with Flexeril and hydrocodone. I have had a back sprain before and never felt like this before. I still feel pain.
Now a new symptom has appeared. I have cold sensation spreading through my legs and arms. I have tried to start walking short distances again and even on the Hydrocodone I am in tears.
Plenty of women are prescribed hydrocodone, if you abuse it, it heightens the risk of baby having a possible addiction. If youve taken it before & have had no problems then i would take it. I have some from when they prescribed me some for my tooth extraction, & im not a pill popper and didnt even need them :/ theyll probably come in handy later though so i keep em just in case.
At that time, I felt ok as long as I kept on top of my meds and used ice regularly. I was and still am prescribed Hydrocodone APAP 5/325 1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours for pain and Valium 5mg every 8 hours for a muscle relaxant, both with 40 pills in each bottle. I have still been having problems with pain 1-1 1/2 hours before I can have more hydrocodone and so I am always sure to take the hydrocodone right at 4 hours and I always take 2 tabs.
Any relief from a narcotic (oxycodone, hydrocodone, demerol etc) will, be shot-lived; The receptors for pain medication in your brain simply adjust to whatever you are taking, and the dose must be increased to relieve the pain again. At some point you will run out of room to keep going up on the dose.
Flexeril is not addictive if you use it only when needed I took it for years for a bad back but you dont get hi on it so for the most part if taken as directed your ok just stay away from soma that is a different story...................................Gnarly.....................................
I have taken flexeril, could not take more than a 1/4 or I would feel very odd. Maybe that was a good thing. You can get a pill cutter and start cutting your dose. We aren't allowed to talk about how to dose hopefully you can get the jist of this. While trying to wean down I would up your vitamins. There is something called a Thomas Recipe but that is for narcotics,so not sure if it would work for you. Your muscles may need more magnesium than normal.
