1653969 tn?1390331661 I got a rx for flexeril today for what the doc thinks are tension headaches I'm getting. I have no worries about abusing them because they put me to sleep within 30 mins of taking. Anyway s I took one this afternoon and of course crashed on the couch, when I woke up I was having the worse RLS ever!I never got it too bad during my detox of vics, when I did it was always my arms, but this was horrible,I ended up walking laps around the cul de sac until they calmed down.
Avatar f tn I'm 23 yr old female.i feel like Iv almost rode everything out there for my constant head pain. I have three diff types of headache along with chronic neck pain from car accidents. I suffer from almost daily migrianes, constant muscle contraction headaches in my scalp, and chronic tension headaches in base of skull and neck/shoulders. Iv tried preventatives that did nothing but bad side effects. Along with all sorts of pain meds.
Avatar f tn I have been having almost continuous headaches for 4 weeks now. Tension headache running in my neck. Doc just said take as much Tylenol as I need...Although I fight that....and that it's the hormones throwing it at all off. I did get a rice bag neck sling from kohls that you heat in the microwave and that helps my neck some.
Avatar f tn d been having a headache for almost 2 weeks straight and would end up crying on my husbands shoulder every night because I was sure something was seriously wrong with me. I went to a different doctor on 12/29. She pressed around on my face and head and decided it was TMJ symptoms from clenching my teeth -- apparently the nerves in your ear can become irritated from clenching your teeth. I did not have the classic popping/locking jaw.
Avatar m tn Two months ago i took flexeril (muscle relaxer) for tmj like symptoms. Right after that i noticed hypo symptoms and when i went to the doc intested at tsh 17. Was i wrong to think that the pill triggered my thyroid? I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
Avatar f tn Anyways, it seems that my arm pain has lessened and is happening less frequently, as well as the upper back. I am taking Flexeril for it, which is a muscle relaxer. Anyways, my question is this: If the arm pain was actually related to some underlying heart issue, do you think taking Flexeril would make a difference in the arm pain? Meaning would the pill help the arm, even though it's refferred pain from the heart.
Avatar n tn Started to have a headache in April after I had a injection in my hip. Thought it might be from the shot, but was told it wasn't. Was advised to go to ER if it continued, which it did. Went to Emergent Care where they gave me a shot of Tramadol which did nothing. So then I had a CT of Brain, which was normal. Told to follow up with neurologist, which I did.He advised it was tension headache. He tried muscle relaxants which did not work.
Avatar n tn I swear by Flexeril! I have dealt with Chiari symptoms for over 20 years now and now if I take a Flexeril right when the headache starts to come on, I fall asleep and wake up as if I never had the headache. It is a miracle drug for Chiari headaches!!
Avatar f tn I certainly cant tell you to take flexeril. I will say that I have been taking cyclobenzoprine (flexeril) off and on as needed for a bunch of years. Its never a good idea to use someone elses meds. There are no contraindications for flexeril with hydro - but they are not in the same class. There is nothing opiate in a flexeril.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed Flexeril for over a year, as a muscle relaxant for long term back and neck pain... I was told it was a 'safe' drug, and not to worry about it - it was not addicting. Now, after taking it for this long, I have re-read the patient information packet, and see that it is only for short term use, and I cannot find information on how to titrate off. I get migraine headaches whenever I stop taking it for any length of time, as well as other symptoms...
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, So this all started on Tuesday or Wed (April 7/8) with a dull headache that would come and go at random times. Coffee helped for a bit but it would always come back. I didnt think much of it because I'm used to headaches like this. Come around to that Sunday night (April 12), I was relaxing in bed when all of a sudden the headache turned severe out of basically nowhere, so much so that I was in tears while icing my head .
Avatar n tn s neurologist said aerobic exercise is better than yoga for tension headaches. But my daughter never feels well enough for aerobic exercise.

671435 tn?1230876528 can anyone give me any advice on what this headache might be? has anyone experienced them before? My headache gets better if I lay On the side with the pressure(right) or sometimes if I lay on my back...there is not much pain its the pressure thats the biggest bother, it just NEVER goes away..could this all be just Anxiety?
Avatar f tn Hi! I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Yes, the symptoms can be due to tension headaches, migraines or due to spinal nerve compression in the neck or upper back region. So, yes, a cervical and head MRI may help diagnose the cause. Meanwhile do deep breathing exercises, slow neck rotation exercises, apply local pain reliever gel and ask someone to lightly massage you back and neck. Take care!
Avatar m tn since all your investigations are coming postive and no obvious etiology is detected, it is easier to understand that, the symptoms are showing are due to migraine headaches. Other causes could be stress headache, cluster headaches and a tension headache. Consult your neurologist for the needful. Take care.
Avatar n tn I'm very frustrated as I was diagnosed with a Chronic "Tension" headache by a Neuro at an academic hospital. I have exhausted a plethora of meds, obligatory SSRIs & MAOIs, Calcium & Beta Blockers, PT, Traction, Chiro, 4 Cervical Facet Blocks & 1 Radio frequency ablation and nothing has helped.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 27y,male,weight 44kg. I've started to have headache after having a very tough semester at college 2 months back and it become worse 2 weeks back when i visited a neurologist who diagnosed me with "tension headache". He prescribed me a cortisone injection in addition to 9 days of prednisolone (3 days 60mg, 3 days 40mg, 3 days 20mg).
Avatar m tn The only bad thing about Flexeril compared to Valium (for me anyway) is that Flexeril leaves me feeling a little groggy for a good hour to 90 minutes upon waking. But considering it's non-addictive, that's a small price to pay rather than continuing with Valium. Anxiety also builds up and causes muscle tension, so the Flexeril at night has alleviated that and given my muscles a fresh start every morning.
Avatar f tn head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes. Tension headache originates with stress and anxiety disorder. Please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the further underlying disorders by clinically examine you & ordering MRI or CT scan here that may be the main reasons of your headache attacks & other symptoms and can provide you an appropriate treatment.
Avatar f tn hi, is that real? the hypothyroid will cause the tension headache? I did a blood count, thyroxin was really low.
Avatar f tn I am so relieved to read the above...I thought I was going crazy. I have had a headache for 2 1/2 weeks now and it started as a tension headache with a lot of neck pain and now I am having eye pain, blurred vision, flashy vision, one small gray spot in my vision, pain in temple, dizziness. The only thing that is constant is the blurred vision. I kept looking up symptoms of tension headache and it said noting about the vision stuff which had me freaked out.
