Thank you so much CATUF for these recommendations. I do suffer from depression and I take 20mg of prozac for 2 weeks, then 30 for 2 weeks per Dr.'s orders. I also am prescribed Xanex on an as needed basis for anxiety due to what the Dr describes as "situational anxiety". During the last 5 days I have taken the prescribed dosage of the xanex, but today I haven't taken any yet. I don't feel the need to. Situations haven't gotten so bad to where I have needed them.
It says on the bottle to take 1 twice a day. I've already taken 4 and i want to take more. My back is in so much pain.

Sam, I just started baclofen this week - the dosage has to be increased gradually to lessen the side effect of sleepiness and I'm on an 18 day schedule to get to a full dose. So far I don't notice much difference. I do know that baclofen is very commonly rxd and if you haven't tried it yet, it might be worth checking it out. If you can get the spasms quieted down, that should help with part of your fatigue - at least that's what I'm hoping for with my treatment.
It feels like its dislocated (especially left side). My left leg has been giving me issues for over 8 months. I took 40 mg (20mg in am;20mg in pm) plus the motrin. I'm having it again but I think its because I'm fatigued. I dunno. I'll definitely speak to my MS Specialist about when to call (because I dont want to be a pain in the ***) and ask about other options to add to the Baclofen. I wonder if a Lidocaine patch would work? Hmmm Thanks for that tip! I'll ask about flexeril!
It works directly on spasticity, it is a skeletal muscle relaxant (High Test Flexeril) and in my case, has some anti-seizure properties that may help with the myoclonic activity.
My doctor just gave me something new to experiment with, Amtrix, which is the long acting version of Flexeril. I can't even tell that I've taken it as it appears to have no therapudic qualities for me. Hope this helps.
In the past I have tried Amytriptiline (Sp?) , Flexeril, Lyrica, Zoloft. I feel like I could open my own pharmacy. I hope that you can find a doctor that can help you. As I am sure you have been told one of the most important things you need is restorative sleep. If you can get into a good sleep pattern it does help. This is why I miss the Xanax it would help me to sleep and did not make me feel groggy the next morning. My heart goes out to all of you fellow suffers.
They initially started me out at a low dosage of Baclofen (I think it was 20mg a day). Then they changed it to 30mg a day. Now I'm up to 60mg a day, and I still get break thru pain during the day. Baclofen has helped me the most out of all the meds that I have tried so far. I'm not sure why you have an easier time getting the Percocet over the Baclofen.
---Inderol 40mg 1 tab 2x everyday,---Vicodin 5/500mg (2 tabs everyday), Fiorecet 50/325/40(2 tabs every other day), Neurontin 600mg(2 1/2 tabs at bedtime), Prednisone 20mg (2 tabs everyday), Flexeril 5mg, (2 tabs, 3x everyday), Ultram HCL 50mg,(2 tabs 3x everyday, 1 multi vitamin, 1 vitaminD 1000u, 1 Iron 65mg, 2 (81mg) baby aspirin.----I guess my question is---does this sound like alot of meds or does this seem normal!!!???---IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME INSIGHT TO EITHER OF THESE "?
Hopefully this can work out for me for the long haul and I will not need to increase my dosage if at all. I have been able to stay at my present dosage for over a year now and have undergone three additional surgeries and am facing another one soon so this worked out well for me. In conclusion, LOL, you may want to discuss a change like this with your doctor (10 mgs. Oxycontin 2X daily) to see if it works for you.
I was skeptical about it because my bp has never ran over 118/70 or slightly higer. It has actually helped I usually take 20mg in morning and then 20mg before bedtime. My migraines are not as severe (at times), and not as frequent. I still have some dizziness but I it isn't as intense as it had been in the past.
to make a long story short, she upped my dosage to 40mgs of OxyContin three times daily and 30mgs of Oxycodone for breakthrough pain. Since she never seemed to follow up on anything, I just swithched Doctor's and my new Doctor seems to know what he is talking about. The new Doc. drew blood and did some other tests. The blood work came back fine, so he too believes that I probably have Fibromyalgia, but he is sending me to a Rheumatoligist too.
I've been taking oxycotin for 7 years started off at 20mg twice a day now i'm up to 80mg three times a day when i tried to stop taking them my body ached to the bone and shooting pains everywhere the reason i was put on oxy i had pain in my legs now i have pain everywhere i was wondering if anyone know if the med could be putting me in more pain i'm in pain even when i'm on the medicine what are the withdrawal symptoms from oxycotin anybody know Thanks
That was over 2 weeks ago and i am still in great pain. My baclofen has been doubled to 20mg 3x day (helps a little but not much) and I have also been prescribed Tramacet for the pain (does nothing for the muscle spasms). I am frustrated and very depressed that this is happening to me again and wondering if anyone out there has ever experienced something similar to this and what they have done to fix the pain.
why is withdrawal from paxil so intense.i'm on 20mg. a day, i,ve tried cutting back to 10mg was on that for a month, then i tried to take 10mg every other day,the second day istarted having withdrawals, tremers, heart racing, weak, ihave never felt so bad in my life.so i always goback to taking the 20mg aday.
I don't know if I mentioned it but when my nerves were sensitive and I had high pain the first year I bent over (and forgot I wasn't supposed to) and reinjured or restrained my back. Then I did it again by accident when I was on Flexeril and it made me sleep walk . So, I am afraid to bend even though my nerves are not as sensitive any more. I think it is all fear but I'm not sure.
This is my personal opinion, but I would take a muscle relaxer that is non-habit forming in place of a benzodiazapine. There are certain muscle relaxers such as Flexeril and Soma that you can take and get a good night's sleep from when going through opiate withdrawals. I had such a horrific time after quitting Xanax (I took it for 3 months), that I absolutely cannot believe that these drugs are even prescribed -- again, my personal opinion but one I feel very strongly about.
The med allowed me to function and work, the pain was too intense otherwise. I now take 20mg twice a day but have been at this level for two years, my doctor thinks this might be as low as I can go. I want to switch to 10mg with something for the breakthrough pain. For people who are responsible with their medicine it is a very helpful drug. For many others it can destroy them. For people who drink alcohol I think it may affect their liver.
My doctors can't find out what the cause is but i am in pain 24/7, I've seen a urologist 5 times in under 2 years, and any test under the sun they can think of. My current doctor last month started to lower my dosage from 4 tablets a day to 3, which isn't that big of a deal. But this month she lowered it again to 2 tablets a day, which puts me in a great deal of pain and I have to submit a drug test before every refill. Now last year I was forced to drug test 13 times!!!
When I was taking 20mg of htdos 4x and 4 to 6 soma a day for two years prior I was pain free all day and slept like a baby I may just have to ask him flat out to prescribe the hydros again BUT he wont do the soma and the zanaflex puts me out
I also take another muscle relaxer (believe it is generic flexeril) 2 x a day. My neuro sent me to a pain doctor to be considered for the pump, Baclofen and morphine. But he wants to try epidural steroid shots (I have done one with no results) first...but that is just focused on my cervical and neck area....I get muscle spasms in more than just my neck. I will quit with the ice cubes and just stick with water, room temp. and warm liquids.
Because that's basically what my doc said about being on Ativan log term too. The dosage has to be increased as tolerance builds or you will get re-bound anxiety attacks, much the same with re-bound headaches from meds used to treat them. When you feel an attack coming on take one and see if you get any relief. If you do you might have to get your dosage increased. Hope you get it figured out...
I guarantee you that a PharmD will say 10-20mg of xanax or klonopin 3 times daily is very dangerous...especially for a starting dose--you'll fall into the deepest sleep you've ever been in within 15-30 minutes of taking 20mg of xanax or klonopin your first time; if klonopin, you won't wake up for quite a while. Ask a PharmD to calculate the maximum safe dosage for your weight, and RCA7591 obviously doesn't understand that dosages are directly proportional to weight.
It may help take the edge off, and possibly some Flexeril becasue it's a muscle relaxant (though Soma is much, much more effective when detoxing). At your dose, I wouldn't recommend cold turkey, but beware, tapering takes a LOT of self control and planning, and for me, only prolongs the suffering (hence increasing the likelyness of a relapse--it just takes one bad day, one really bad moment, and next thing you know, you're back at square one again).
I still have pain, and I have been waking up with horrible sweats all of a sudden. I am on opana 20mg. once every 12 hours and percocet 10mg. every 4-6 hours for breakthrough pain. I am undiagnosed still after six months now. I was told I had Rheumatoid Arthritis then they thought it was fibromyalgia. Now the rhematoid doc found a severe vitamin D deficiency which she says can cause severe muscle and bone pain.
( if each aleve is 100 mg taking 5 is the same exact thing as taking a 500mg naproxen. It is the exact same drug just a lesser dosage per pill since it is over the counter) I really hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything. Going to your doctor and working out a plan to take you from 60mg or so a methadone and gradually bring you down (like the program was SUPPOSED to do) would be the best course of action for you.
- While awaiting the scan results I was given oxycontin for pain relief, this seemed to do the trick for 2 weeks, 10mg 2x a day, then things hurt again so up the dose went 20mg 2x a day, then 40mg 2x a day, then 80mg 2x a day and up to 120mg 2x a day, recognise the scenereo anyone??..
