flexeril and valium

I have been taking 3/4 of a 10mg Flexerit once a day before bed Pain Management Dr put me on 4-1/2 yrs ago while detoxing from Valium (horrible). I'm sure God brought me here getting off Valium. People here helped me so much like Cricket, AtThebeach and many others. I couldn't have done it without them and our Heavenly Father. Was on Gabapentin (for me is a horrible drug). He offered that again, maybe won't be as bad now, not withdrawing from Valium.

Hi there. I can understand your plight well. You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.

Flexeril and soma are both muscle relaxers....doesn't seem as if teking both each day would be of any benefit...flexeril is the safer of the two as far as addiction....there are some warnings posted as far as anti-depressents and some of the aminos...I was on lexapro (anti-depressent) during detox...nuerontin, I also take flexeril rarely but it can help you sleep..I followed the recipe without difficulty...

He told me not to take the valium I had been prescribed but I could continue the flexeril with the gabapentin as needed. I see him on the first of July and since I am newly diagnosed I have so many questions. I feel a little lost. I have been having so many problems remembering things. Forgetting what I was saying right in the middle of saying it. I was trying to call a friend the other day and I know her number by heart but I dialed half her number and half someone elses.

I have been having so many nights with spasms and jerking of my legs. We have tried many things, like Baclofen, Flexeril, and Gabapentin. Now, we are on 3000 mg. of Gabapentin, and my physiacrist decided to try Valium at 5mg, first week going to 10 mg. the next week, at night time. I was told that in NO WAY can I take the Baclofen, ( warning on bottle), or the flexeril and no grapefruit juice or grapefruit.

m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.

of valium, 10 mgs of flexeril, and 30 mgs of buspar, several times a week to escape life. I am a recovering alcoholic and recognize I have relapsed. I want this to stop. Can anyone comment on what withdrawals to expect and how to stop this at home? I am not going to rehab.

t you call you Pharmacist and tell them what happened and ask them about the Flexeril and see what they think about it. Whether or not it JUST caused this by itself OR if it interacted with something else that you are taking. Curious about what you find out.....

t say it was awesome and symptom free but much more bearable this last time. WHY you ask?!?! I took flexeril on days 1, 2 and 3. I stopped taking it yesterday because I had to return to work today, but I definitely believe the flexeril helped because it was so much more bearable this time. I'm by no means 100% but yesterday (day 4) I was functional and today I'm a little more functional.

Going cold turkey starting tomorrow and have everything listed for the Thomas Recipe, and some Clonidine to throw on top of it all. I've been through this before and the sleep issue is what drives me crazy!! Is the Valium supposed to help with sleep, or should I try to get a sleeping aid to help with this? I don't want to throw to much **** into my body, but I also want to get some sleep. I've tried Flexeril and Benedryl in the past with no luck.

I was on Soma and was switched to valium. I think it's an excellent medication, even though it is habit forming.

Hi, I have been on Percocet 10/325 along with Neurontin, Flexeril, Valium for about a decade. I was switched to 75 MCG Fentanyl patch 2 weeks ago. Valium was stopped 3 weeks ago. The 1st week I could not sleep at all. Drowsy, though. Shaky, cold. My doctor said it was withdrawal. Now at week 2, I sleep about 2 hours, very shaky, freezing cold, (I never get cold) Absolutely miserable BUT have great pain relief. Must stay in bed.

I am prescribed quite a few pain meds and benzo's for Chronic pain and anxiety but need advice on getting off Fentanyl Patch ASAP. I am prescribed Fentanyl Patch 100mcg every 36 hrs, Diladid 8mg 2-3 daily, Percocet 7.5 4 daily, Norco 7.5 4 daily, klonopin 1mg 4x daily, Valium 10mg 2-3 daily, Flexeril 10mg 3x daily, Phenergan 25mg 2x daily. I now am down to taking 50mcg Fentanyl every 72 hrs, 1/2 so 4 mg of Diladid if needed 0-2 a day, 1/2 of Percocet so about 3.

Valium is a very potent muscle relaxer, much more so than Flexeril, and in many cases, Soma as well. I have been taking Valium for about 7 years now for sleep, anxiety/panic, and pain. Over time your body will become very dependant on benzodiazepines when taken over the long term. A very slow medically supervised taper is recommended if one wants to discontinue the medication. Going cold turkey on a benzodiazepine can cause seizures that are very dangerous and can cause death.

My doctor recently suggested that I try Amrix as a muscle relaxer, and commented that Valium is addictive (and Amrix not), and that a side benefit of Amrix was that it would help with sleep. I tried it for about ten days, and found that it resulted in an increase in daytime sleepiness. This I can ill afford, as, like most commuters, I`m reasonably sleep deprived anyway, at least during the week. I also couldn't detect much impact on muscle relaxation, and so I stopped.

I have tried several muscle relaxers over the years for my shoulder pain and flexeril is the only one that works for me. It helps with the pain and also helps me to sleep. I am really sensitive to medication so I usually only take half of a 10 mg tablet at bedtime. Sometimes when I am in a a lot of pain during the day I'll take a quarter. It helps without making me too tired. Hope this helps some.

I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.

I also have flexeril, valium, phenergan, ammodium, and ativan,,, i will use them as sparingly as possible i know the valium has addiction properties but i'm not really concerned as i've taken them before and never had an urge for any more... i want these pills out of my life they have consumed it,, i have held it together but i fear i can't for much longer if i don't do something... i'm not going to lie i'm terrified of this next week.,.

then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.i went to the dr. AGAIN and he said to go see a cardioloist AGAIN.

My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite. Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything. So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics? I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.

I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!

Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?

I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!

My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?

I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
