Hi and Welcome Tramadol Warriors, Please come on in and make yourself comfy. All are welcome.
Hello Tramadol Warriors! Top 'o the evening to you and welcome. We're glad you found us! You can do this.
It makes me very angry that these Doctors know and aren't telling people. I don't believe that they are ignorant. I've been over and over it again and again. It makes no sense that I would know more as a user of the drug than they would. There's so little on Tramadol or Ultram on the web. Tons on other drugs. Ok so the most alarming part of the Tramadol we would think would be the fact that it is a synthetic opiate. It's a Narcotic. It's just been slipped thru the schedule.
I went to my GP complaning of no sense of smell, saw a surgeon and surgery was recomended, I was given a prescription for Prednisone, a steroid, this gave me some sense of smell, and here's the but, I had the operation and still could not smell, so more Prednisone, well the upshot is that the steroids have caused my Osteo-Necrosis, this is when the heads of the long bones die, so have now had core decompression on one hip and the other totally replaced. Oxycontin.
I take lexapro with it too just one a day but I wonder if the doctors know of a reaction to Tramadol like mine or is it possibly a combo of tramadol and lexapro. My mom tried tramadol and it does nothing for her pain or for energy. But for me I am just a lightning bug all day and come bed time I am totally relaxed and comfy and fall right to sleep.
after having continued panic attacks, my doctor added lexapro to my mix. appearently this is normal. in two years, i have gained nearly 30lbs, and on a 5'1 frame, it is really unhealthy. my psych and i have been watching this and yesterday she added topamax to counteract the weight gain and add as an additional mood stabilizer. gradually i will increase my dosage until i reach 100mgs over the next four weeks.
I too am on Xanax and was on Paxil 30 mg, but switched to lexapro. As far as the Xanax goes my Psychiatrist told me that if I for some reason "cold turkey" stopped that I would be very uncomfortable, but I would not be in grave danger of having a seizure and I am taking 4 mg a day. I also am a recovering opiate addict and I know that Binzodiazapine withdrawl is nothing compared to opiate withdrawal.
