Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril and klonopin

flexeril

1415174 tn?1453243103 m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.
Avatar f tn Well it's day 8 for me. Tapered quickly off lortab (8 a day down to none) fioricet (5 a day down to none) klonopin (down to .5 from 4mg) and zoloft (150mg down to 75). Now I spend most of the day shaking inside and feeling terribly anxious. I have trazadone but it just makes me tired and anxious and flexeril which doesn't seem to do anything at all. Did I try to do to much at once? I'm starting to think I should have done one at a time....
Avatar f tn I am prescribed quite a few pain meds and benzo's for Chronic pain and anxiety but need advice on getting off Fentanyl Patch ASAP. I am prescribed Fentanyl Patch 100mcg every 36 hrs, Diladid 8mg 2-3 daily, Percocet 7.5 4 daily, Norco 7.5 4 daily, klonopin 1mg 4x daily, Valium 10mg 2-3 daily, Flexeril 10mg 3x daily, Phenergan 25mg 2x daily. I now am down to taking 50mcg Fentanyl every 72 hrs, 1/2 so 4 mg of Diladid if needed 0-2 a day, 1/2 of Percocet so about 3.
Avatar f tn I voted 5-10 but I don't take meds specifically prescribed for fibro. They are for the stuff that goes along with it.... singulair, xyzal, omnaris (chemical sensitivities and regular allergies) synthroid topamax (migraines) wellbutrin After being seriously overmedicated for 4 years before my dx....I'm also very careful about what meds I take and how they interact. I didn't have any luck with flexeril, amitriptyline or cymbalta. I took vioxx for years and felt great on it....
1386457 tn?1279652083 ve been on klonopin for a year now and to be frank I am just tired of taking medication. I am currently taking celexa, klonopin, ambien, and flexeril. I dont know if I am ready I will just have to see and find out. I am taking .5 a night instead of the 1 mg I was taking everyday. It is day three and I just feel a bit larthgic and had a nightmare last night that was quite vivid. Anyone who has been or is in the similiar situation as me please describe when I should expect symptoms.
Avatar f tn Today I am going to start my taper off of vicodin which I have taken irresponsibly for over a year. I also take Fioricet, flexeril, and have been perscribed Zoloft which is about week 5. Also going through Klonopin withrawals which has made me shake like crazy. The zoloft increase caused me a week and a half of nausea which has finally subsided. I'm so scared. My two children are counting on me and like many, nobody knows what I'm really going through.
Avatar m tn I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
1460652 tn?1340248730 then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.i went to the dr. AGAIN and he said to go see a cardioloist AGAIN.
Avatar m tn My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite. Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything. So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics? I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
Avatar f tn I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
232328 tn?1207090071 I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!
Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar f tn See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep and Klonopin which will be helpful for sleeplessness and anxiety. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
Avatar f tn I have been on vicodin for a nexk injury since February. I started to see a pain doctor but I keep coming up short. It's ruining my life. I have kicked a worse addiction to oxyir several years ago. I have some klonopin 0.5mg, tizanidine and flexeril. I cant keep living this way. I'm not strong enough to taper down. Does anyone have any suggestions on things I could take. Last time I used neurontin but I don't have those this time. I haven't gotten the pain yet but I can sleep.
Avatar n tn a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for? I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.
Avatar n tn Hi Brandy and welcome to the pain management community. Many chronic pain patients take a benzodiazepine like Xanax or Valium to help manage chronic pain. Benzodiazepines are prescribed first line for anxiety/panic disorder. However, they are often prescribed off label as a muscle relaxer and/or sleep aid. Xanax has a very short half life, and therefore, I don't think it is the best therapeutic choice.

585414 tn?1288941302 I take other medications (Klonopin, Catapres, rhodiola and two others in clinical study) for it and have tried about 30 anti-Parkinsonian medications and couldn't tolerate them or they couldn't work. But to keep the question short and simple (dealing with known aspects of my disability) I recieved a list of medications that would be covered under my insurance and a few I hadn't heard of and hadn't tried.
372416 tn?1242665752 I have been taking methocarbamol for 2 weeks. I had a serious addiction to Klonopin. When I take the 2 together it cuts my Klonopin usage down by 90% and I don't have the social anxiety that I had before. I have had 7 knee surgeries, 2 ankle surgeries, and 3 hand surgeries. SO, I have been on Hydrocodone at dosages as high as 200mgs a day and i am off of that thanks to this drug. I just have a little trouble sleeping with it. I hope this helpps.
1068422 tn?1293684253 They are also doing a Lumbar Puncture in the next two weeks. When I get home in August, I am scheduled for another VER and BAER.
Avatar m tn Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
Avatar f tn You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
Avatar m tn I went to see my pcp and I also got blood work done. It appears my wbc was decreased. I researched the web and found that Flexeril and Benadryl, two meds I’ve been taking since I started working nights and my back pain became unbearable can cause low wbc. I’ve stopped taking both and I am starting to feel better but not back to myself yet and it’s already been 2 weeks since I stopped. I’m guessing this meds are still in my body. I plan to repeat my lab work in a few months.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I also take an NSAID and was on flexeril for a long time. I got off of Flexeril as it stopped working and also I have an arrthymia.I tried Tramadol and vicadin in the past and get insomnia from them and I don't want to go back to that level of a pain killer. Is there something inbetween? It isn't nerve pain the muscle relaxer first took the pain away after a couple of weeks.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have started on new meds Flexeril at night, lymbrel 500 twice a day, and Avosoy (non-prescription). The Flexeril drys my mouth out at night. Do you think this a side effect or an allergy of one of these drugs? I think the Flexeril dried my mouth and cause chapped lips and perhaps an infection from the old chap stick? please advise. It is not Herpes cold sores as I know what that looks like. It has an ordered distribution like the hair follicles.
Avatar m tn soma is not for most people but it can be a problem for some...zanaflex, flexeril, baclofen are some muscle relaxers that could help with cramping and sleep....it is important to get ur sleep to make it thru the physical part of wd...good luck to u..there r also supps etc that can help..read thru the health pages..there is also an article in my journal about rls..
1185172 tn?1264284610 Thanks - yes, I did flush them. I've tried lyrica and cymbalta and they both raised my controlled hypertension to uncontrollable, so no luck there. I take klonopin & flexeril for sleep and they work fine. I just started about a week ago on effexor, I know it won't help with the pain, but hopefully it will help with my attitude. I stretch and swim which helps with the stiffness, it's just the pain in my joints is horrific at times as you know and it hurts to just barely move.
