A few days earlier I stopped taking gabapentin 600mg 1 time a day and flexeril 2-4 times per day. The anxious feeling was still there and that night I was having charlie horses to the point of soaking in a hot tub. I do suffer from RLS as do both my parents. The meds made me very sick so dr told me to just take a xanax and that would work. During this process I was trying not to take the xanax either. My parents drink a mixture of oj, apple cider vinegar & honey so I tried that.
I tried to replace the Oxycodone with the Hydrocodone but it gave me tremendous nausea and terrible anxiety the one day I took it...I almost had a panic attack in the middle of the night and thought my husband was going to have to cal 911! Does anyone have a suggestion for the best way I can wean off the meds? I am extremely sensitive to all medications and hate to take anything, but the pain is still too severe to just stop.
I have hashimotos By the way.
I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
But for right now, to deal with your withdrawal symptoms, see if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep, Clonidine helps with the creepy-crawly feeling and helps stabilize the blood pressure. All of these medications will make your life easier during this time.
My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite.
Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything.
So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics?

I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
I went to see the Ortho today and he prescribed 10mg hyro and 10 mg Flexeril until I can schedule PT again. I am going to make sure to go through all 3 weeks so that my cheap insurance will pay for an MRI. I had one a little over a year ago thatt revealed a bulged disc at L4 or L5...can't remember which. My insurance at that time paid with no questions.
My question is this, I am taking so many meds that can cause drowsiness, I'm afraid I will be a zombie.

Are you wanting off everything, or just the Methadone?
If you want off everything, you're going to have to cut your sources as per the very smart people here. Taking all that other stuff is just delaying your w/d, really. Do you take Ativan regularly? If not, I wouldn't advise starting that. That's not something you want to have to come off later, as w/d can actually be dangerous from benzos.
Are you trying to taper?
a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for?
I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.

The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
m allowed to take hydrocodone that has 325 mg tylenol up to 3 times a day, and the same for flexeril 10mg, for back pain/sciatica.
Ibuprofen is alright as well, sometimes that is all I take. Moderation is the key here, and absolutely no alcohol.
You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
2:41 and I'm doing well still.. about 32 hours in. Only a little RLS and a little shakey but other than that I'm alright. I think I mite take a flexeril and try and sleep. I wonder if what Im doing is working, or if its yet to come. hm.
I went to see my pcp and I also got blood work done. It appears my wbc was decreased. I researched the web and found that Flexeril and Benadryl, two meds I’ve been taking since I started working nights and my back pain became unbearable can cause low wbc. I’ve stopped taking both and I am starting to feel better but not back to myself yet and it’s already been 2 weeks since I stopped. I’m guessing this meds are still in my body. I plan to repeat my lab work in a few months.
