Flexeril and anxiety

Common Questions and Answers about Flexeril and anxiety

flexeril

I have flexeril and do think it could aid with sleep and anxiety...maybe rls to some extent as well...
Why don't you call you Pharmacist and tell them what happened and ask them about the Flexeril and see what they think about it. Whether or not it JUST caused this by itself OR if it interacted with something else that you are taking. Curious about what you find out.....
Well I've never taken soma but have taken flexeril a lot, to help me sleep and to help with back spasms, I have never gotten any type of 'buzz' from it. Upon comparing the two on drugs.com under warning on soma it says not to take it if you have a history of alcohol or other substance abuse or dependence but under flexeril there is nothing of the sort. Hope that helps, Much Luv!!!
I have now been off for a month or more and my diarrhea and anxiety and sweating are still plaguing me on an all-day long basis. This is a dangerous drug that stays in your body for a long time. It should not be prescribed as a "safe, non-addictive solution for pain" As it stands, I don't know when, or if, I will ever be well again...
At any rate, benzos are excellent for anxiety and if you just use them during the acute phase of your wd and then quit they shouldn't be a problem.
Followed up yet again with my doctor, he definetly says this is all related to depression and anxiety and put me on Wellbutrin SR 150 mg twice a day, and is going to add Buspar if in a month I don't feel better. My hubby and I are planning on trying to get pregnant soon, so that's why we aren't trying Xanax or anything like that. Anyways, I am on day 5 of the Wellbutrin, and the past two nights I have had some trouble sleeping.
I have trazadone but it just makes me tired and anxious and flexeril which doesn't seem to do anything at all. Did I try to do to much at once? I'm starting to think I should have done one at a time....but I'm a "right now" kinda person, and think I just wanted to be totally clean too fast.
My suggestion to you is get a massage, and continue going to your doctor to see if you can't ease you pain and anxiety. Take care and I really don't know much about meds except that paxil is for anxiety/depession and Lyrica is for pain I belive people with fibro take it.Darvocet and Vicodin are also for pain.
Im not worried about withdrawl or ever having to go off right now cause i need it that and along with therepy maybe someday i will come off it but i cant worry about that right now cause i have extreme anxiety and panic syndrome and if this med and therepy is helping me right now live a little then i cant have anxiety already about withdrawl and addiction too it if it works for me.
Too bad am working today and my doctor who is in Puerto Rico is on vacation. Today I took my Lyrica, Lodine and the Flexeril and no improvement at all. As i know by now I have better days than others, hopefully tomorrow will be a better one.
I took three Trazodone sleeping pills (150 mg total) and a Flexeril muscle relaxer (10 mg). No, I wasn't trying to kill myself - I just wanted to rid myself of insomnia and Restless Legs Syndrome. Well, let's just say that cocktail of medications did NOT agree with my body. I began to panic - full on panic. My pupils became extremely dilated, I collapsed onto the floor, and started screaming at the top of my lungs.
What makes my anxiety break through is that the kind of anxiety I have is health anxiety. I'll get an ache or pain and it is so intensified and then I begin to think it's something I should see a doctor about, and then I start obsessing. Some of my issues are bonified. I have some bulging discs in my neck and a degenerative disc in my lumbar. I was working out, running and lifting weights, doing really well...
You mention that you have always had a low-grade anxiety, and that Xanax (an anxiety-relieving medication) provides relief from your symptoms. This may indicate that your symptoms are indeed due to an anxiety disorder (such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, etc), or a somatoform disorder. Somatoform disorders are characterized by involuntary misinterpretation of one's bodily sensations, resulting in preoccupation with physical symptoms for which no medical causes can be found.
ohhhh boy I wouldnt one is a benzo and the others works like a senzo not a good Idea
It sounds like anxiety, and in light of all the negative tests, you should assume it is anxiety. Although Zoloft is a longer term medication for anxiety, you might ask your doctor to add a shorter term, more immediate acting, anti-anxiety medication like klonopin or ativan so you can get a quicker result and get rid of the cycle of being too worried and preoccupied. I would also suggest you work with the therapist, and talk a lot about your work, how you see your career going ,etc.
A month is a great time for the initilal WD of the Opiates and Flexeril, but your anxiety and depression could be your contributing factor. We are here for you.
See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep and Klonopin which will be helpful for sleeplessness and anxiety. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
There must be something I could take besides klonopin to relax my head and jaw. Flexeril? I kind of like the fact that my head changed shape. I am just concerned that I am not stable on what I am taking and I would like to get a job.
I am also experiencing muscle spasms and jerks while sleepy and while asleep, I jerk violently to the point of waking my boyfriend and then i wake up breathing heavy with the itching/tickling all over and a heavy chest and trouble breathing. I was wondering if this could all be linked to my anxiety and I am just experiencing a mega dose of it? I am scared. I had a minimally invasive surgery 3 weeks ago which I am pretty much healed from but I have been on Percocet, Dramamine, and Asprin.
If I'm standing my body folds in half (I have nearly hit my head on several occasions). She admitted me and gave me a strong dose of diazepam intravenously, after about an hour and a half the spasms stopped. 3 different doctors looked at me and none of them had seen it before. Because the spasms stopped they discharged me and just told me to take the diazepam if the spasms started. I'd been home for a few hours and they started again so I took a 5mg diazepam and went to bed.

A rheumatologist diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia Syndrome, and prescribed a low dose of Flexeril at bedtime. I noticed a difference within 3 days...woke up feeling rested and in less pain. Flexeril at bedtime helps you to get into stage 4 sleep, which is when the body releases Human Growth Hormone. HGH works to heal the day-to-day muscle wear and tear. When you don't have enough HGH, your muscles feel achey as the worn and damaged cells have not been repaired.
But considering it's non-addictive, that's a small price to pay rather than continuing with Valium. Anxiety also builds up and causes muscle tension, so the Flexeril at night has alleviated that and given my muscles a fresh start every morning. I've also avoided ALL caffeine and I used to drink diet sodas and red bulls, so that's huge for me LOL. I figured why not detox myself from that stuff while I was at it. Congrats on Day 6 to you!!
I am nervous and have anxiety for several reasons, besides the PAC's I have chronic back pain, and a toe nail bed infection. So, I get the echo tomorrow and then the toe is being dealt with Thursday. What is an SVT? I don't think I have VT now but wonder how likely it is with PAC's to get it? Wow 8000 of these a day! That is a lot. Someone here said that the mitral value if it is minor they don't treat for it. I hope I don't have it or anything else. Sorry you have this too.
Everyone is different in their detox, My day 10 I started feeling much better and more energy, I was taking lortab 10 + 10 a day or sometimes more. The xanax helped me sleep thru a lot of it, and flexeril for the cramps in my joints but I agree with others that if you can make yourself move, walk around, I tired easy, but that's o.k.-take it slow and don't give up.

5 days into it i started feeling extremely disconnected with my body and dizzy, (1 day i threw up) extreme anxiety more severe than i had before, crying fits (and i went on it for work anxiety and have never been depressed), confusion, headaches...and the vision in my right eye was a bit off. Now, I was kind of stupid though and just stopped taking it all together...and for 4 weeks I suffered. Anywa, I couldn't take it anymore for I covinced myself that I was going insane...
Im currently out of tramadol and xanax and have no choice but to go cold turkey, my doctor is a pusher and wouldnt help me anyway. I just took my last dose of xanax last night(2 mgs) and took 200 mgs of tramadol about four hours ago. Im feeling withdrawals already and i know its reallllly idiotic to go cold turkey off xanax so my husband(who doesnt use at all) is trying to track some xanax down for me so i dont have a seizure or die.
I do smoke and have taken Klonopin Flexeril and Adderal recreationaly recently but do not think that is the cause.
It must be emphasized that in the MAJORITY of cases muscle twitches are benign meaning that they are of no consequence and are not resulting from a serious cause. In such cases, the twitches may be related to anxiety/stress, caffeine, and often occur after recent strenuous activity or muscle over-use. It is important in such cases to reduce stress/anxiety levels and to reduce caffeine intake. Tremors of the hands can be physiological that is exacerbated by stress/anxiety and caffeine.
