Flaxseed oil is just that an oil. It passes thru your digestive system easily. It's natural and it's nutritional. Please read about it. Papaya is a digestive aid. It has enzymes that help your stomach break down food. You need to eat many small meals. Lots of fluids. There is a book called "Juice for Life". Please go to a bookstore and read the section regarding your concerns. Water reduces acids in your stomach, natural and not invasive like medicines.
I'm so glad your dad is doing some better today! I felt God may have used the fact my parent was daily taking flaxseed oil capsules to help keep from having a full blown stroke, but it has only a weak anti-coagulant type effect and is not sufficient for someone who has already suffered a TIA or stroke. You might see if your dad is willing to do some deep breathing for about ten minutes when you find his blood pressure is high when you check it.
i have not done any testing for celiac, but certain foods that have gluten/yeast in them (almost all foods it seems) causing really bad stabbing pain for me. i take flaxseed oil, fiber, superfood and keep up on veggies (im a vegetarian) so it doesn't seem like it has anything with 'letting nature take its course'. it may sound funny, but i can distinguish what pains is from what problem/organ....and this didn't feel like any of them, thats why i am worried. its not as bad today but still there.
you could do trial and error and eat oily greasy foods for a few days and then go super lean and eat low/no fat no oil foods and see if you're having issues there.. lastly it could be an ulcer (if it's like right below your ribcage..where they meet in the middle..) so you could do trial and error there and eat some smarties or... eat something super acidic...salsa...whatever and see if you double over in pain...

It is tough dealing with chronic pain. Are you taking Naturemade brand of Sam-E and flaxseed oil capsules or enteric coated fish oil capsules? Are you exercising your hands in hot water to help with the keeping limber? Yes, it is sad you are not as active for your younger kids, but sore joints can not prevent you from giving them a gift of greater value- your love.
I have taken it for years. It is not cheap though. Have you tried fish oil or flaxseed oil capsules? I take the flaxseed oil capsules, because I don't like burping up fish flavor. It is supposed to be good for inflammation and mood. Have you tried acupuncture? I know this can be expensive too, but I saw a news piece on tv where it had been scientifically studied and proven to help knee arthritis.

You may need PANCREATIC ENZYMES (taken only with some food, which should include a little fat or oil), but you may need to start with TINY amounts of the enzymes and fats, to not overly irritate your damaged intestines. If it agrees with you, SLIPPERY ELM BARK (in powdered form) can be mixed with water, and is very soothing, healing, and nourishing! Have you tried any homeopathic remedies? (If they have any lactose in them, take them with lactase enzymes).
I've been taking an alcohol based Gold coin grass tincture for the past 3 days and the pain has actually been occurring less often. My diet of whole foods, no fatty foods or red meat or pork, and flaxseed oil capsules has also helped.
I've started thinking I would have to live with Irritable Bowel Syndrome for the rest of my life and I've been trying to find some healthy alternatives, such as L-Glutamine to build up my gut and flaxseed oil to soothe a bit. This hasn't helped. I gave in and took the Bentyl. Amazingly, the tingling sensation went away but my stomach pain worsened, terrible headache, fatigue, so I stopped after 3 days. The Doc is baffled. She's now running tests on my pancreas.
Eat foods high in calcium, magnesium and flaxseed oil. If a week of compresses and emollients don't do the trick, you can add over-the-counter 1 percent hydrocortisone ointment to your regimen. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Warm regards.
I went yesterday to the health food store and bought some aloe vera juice and flaxseed powder. I read it helps with severe IBS and I'll try anything at this point. I just can't believe the IBS thing because of the fact that my pain is so point specific, isn't like bowel cramps and DOES NOT improve after bowel movements. I think IBS is a cop out. I am at my wits end and sometimes want to just scream. My life has gone downhill and I WANT IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do make these delicious kamut pancakes though, I put stevia (herbal sweetener) in the batter, and cinnamon, and then instead of syrup, I spread coconut oil on the pancake and then sprinkle it with FOS (a sweet, sugar-like powder that you cannot digest so it goes straight to your intestines where it FEEDS good bacteria and cannot be used by candida/bad bacteria). About killing bad bacteria. There is a probiotic - E. Coli Strain M17 that kills bad bacteria while promoting good bacteria.
8000-1000mg of Vit C 4) 400 IUs of Vit E twice a day 5) 500 mg Flaxseed oil twice a day 6) Take a Multivitamin 7) Take 500mg of Quercetin with Bromelain twice a day. 8) Take Vitex morning and night 9) Take 500mg of Magnesium at bedtime 10) eliminated MILK from my diet--my worst episodes were always after I drank a glass of it or ate ice cream; I can still have cheese, yogurt, and sour cream. Dr. Lee explains in his book that an inflamed and aggravated system will allergically react to milk.
Simple thing to do and it takes 3-4 hrs. Completelly painless. (google gallbladder flush to learn more - you just need olive oil and lemon). In 2 days i was jumping. But that lasted around 4-5 months. The pain returned and I went to my accupuncturist. I can not explain what is exactly going on, but there is an article that is pretty close to what my doctor was telling me. and it is n ot connected with just lactic acid and muscle fatigue.
I also take calcium and flaxseed oil supplements. obviously, I am trying to give this a good try, and hope that the side effects ease a bit - or at least don't get worse. on the flip side, the tinnitis that I have endured for the past 7 months has gone away - and it was driving me nuts, so that is also a good thing. After my experience on Cymbalta, including the 6 weeks of withdrawal hell that I went through, I have relatively high hopes for the Savella.
I am guessing they are caused from the drop in the hormone levels. Also, I have heard about primrose oil and flaxseed oil being good to regulate hormones or help PMS symptoms. (I was mainly on yasmin for PMS symptoms / moods and to regulate my periods) Thank you!
(This cycle will be my first period after being on the pill again so I'm crossing my fingers) There are a lot of natural remedies, like heating pads, exercise, flaxseed oil, rose hip tea/oil, etc. but as for myself, realistically they just don't cut it. They might be helping, but in such a small amount that I can't notice, because the pain is just too severe. If you find out any other methods, let me know :) In the meantime, I hope your cramps get less painful.
I have upped my fiber, as I said, and taking in lots of flaxseed everyday in the foods that I eat. It really helps. I've never been regular, but now go like clockwork everyday. I still do strain and my doc's office said the blood could actually be a hemorroid. Can't wait to get these tests over with and enjoy the holidays. My coworker had constipation before her GB was taken out and pain under the left shoulder blade, stools were loose and nauseous.
