I'm concerned because of the fiber levels in flaxseed and i dont want the riba to be washed out with the fs. any comments or ideas?
The beauty of flaxseed meal is that it is an actual food fiber. So, you can do what I read one person say she does with it and mix it with water like you would with something like Metamucil and have that twice a day. Or, you can simply add the flaxseed to whatever you're eating. I actually like the taste of it, which is sort of a nutty flavor. It adds the bulk we need, and people even bake with it. It works great as a thickening agent and binder, too.
That's usually a sign that you either take less of it, or you avoid it all together. I do best when I add a bit of flaxseed meal to the foods I'm eating. If you can stand to do it, you can add some to water or juice and drink it down like you would Metamucil or Citracel. I couldn't take those ones either. It was the psyllium for me. I know, because I bought plain psyllium from the health store, which is also more economical than the commercial stuff.
I noticed a similar issue with Fiber one bars (not as bad as you), but I don't have that issue as much with other fiber sources by same weight of fiber. Try getting your fiber through a supplement instead and/or backing off.
My MD was part of the Univ of Cincinnati that participated in the incivek trials. My MD stands by a 5X dosing day with 6am incevik with meal and 8am ribaviron. this was what this study followed, and with great results--so of course my MD believes in following what has been proven. that is not to say that we will find other protocol just as effective.
Also what to eat to prevent constipation? I feel so bound up - have just eaten some acidophyllus yoghurt as part of my fatty meal to hopefully get things moving along. Everyone says to drink lots of water. How much are you all drinking? I'm drinking at least 2litres per day. Is that enough? No bad symptoms yet - touch wood but I'm sure they will come. Its very early days yet ...
Flaxseed is easier to take, because one can mix it in water, just like one would do the psyllium fiber, which is really what Metamucil is, or simply mix directly into whatever one is eating. Flaxseed meal is often added to baked goods. I buy my flaxseed meal from Trader Joe's. They carry Bob's Red Mill. Other stores do, too, but Trader Joe's has a better price. I noticed that the flaxseed meal really seems to help with the GERD, too.

I do alright using flaxseed meal rather than the psyllium based fibers that you mentioned. I can use just a little in water, like the fiber drinks, or just sprinkle a little on my food. It's an actual food product and it has nutritional benefits, like omega 3. I buy the Bob's Red Mill that is available at Trader Joe's, because it's more affordable. It's already ground flaxseed meal. I haven't heard of the Heather's Tummy Fibers, so I'll have to look for that.

I started using chlorella (a type of algae and is available in tablets at health food stores) as a stool softener and it seems to be doing the job. I use flaxseed meal instead of the psyllium fiber because I also have GERD, which is aggravated by psyllium fiber, and I can add it directly to food, instead of drinking it down with water, like Metamucil. The GI said it doesn't matter which fiber is used, as long as I use a fiber, which I was doing all along anyway.
There is a gentler fiber that I have found to be less irritating to the gut. This is flaxseed meal. I read of a woman who said that she used it much like one uses Metamucil and drinks it down first thing in the morning and last thing at night and has done so for years. Taking psyllium fiber (the main ingredient in Metamucil) wasn't helpful for her bowel troubles, but the flaxseed meal was.
