Avatar f tn Hi, i have begun back in a gym after years of a lot of working and poor eating habits. Ive dropped all the garbage and am back on track. I go 5-6 days a week and prefer weight training. I do upper body and lower body on seperate days with rest in between and 30-45 min cardio after weights. How many reps can i do at most? I vary my weights and change it up often but i want the absolute most out of every day. Three doesn't seem like enough, and ive been doing 6-8 reps, gradually going heavier.
Avatar f tn I was heavy lifting before I got pregnant and as soon as I knew I was pregnant I haven't do any heavy lifting. I haven't go to the gym because the gym is at my college and I'm working so I really haven't make some time to workout. I walk about 30 minutes like 3 to 4 days a week but I have been sick so I haven't really do any other workout.
Avatar f tn I am remaining on my same fitness routine I had prior to becoming pregnant. I attend yoga sculpt 1-2 times per week, zumba and run a few times per week. There's a great book called The Pregnant Athlete. Fitness is always important to me but has become even more of a priority now that I'm pregnant. It's supposed to help with pregnancy, labor and bouncing back after baby. Good luck!
973741 tn?1342342773 March for 1 minute. Run in place for 1 minute. 12 deep squats. Etc. I have some for 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. Helps me follow a work out. I have put on ear buds and jogged the circle in my house. Sounds weird but I have a circle that goes through all the rooms of my downstairs. I try to do that when no one is around so they don't think I'm coo coo for cocoa puffs. But it's a substitute for going outside.

Avatar m tn I am very bad out of shape due to being sedentary for several years. My doctor told me to start exercising, so started walking briskly 1 1/2 miles a day. Other day I decided to take a short medium pace jog which was about 175 yards. I noticed my heart rate was 159 at that short of distance and I was breathing rather hard (age 59 maximun heart rate is suppose to be 161). Any advice on how to approach the proper way to get back in shape at my age?

Avatar n tn Pax, I'm in Tamarac FL. and the LA fitness gym hasn't any kettle bells and it's rough using a dumb bell as a kettle bell. The flight from N.J. to Lauderdale is about 2 1/2 hr. It took us almost 6 hours.
Avatar m tn t need all the **** they push in health stores a multi vitamin and 32 oz of Gatorade for electrolytes then water during workout is all anybody needs and i only drink so much because i do sprints and run for an hour before i even touch weights then i super set non stop with only 30 second interviles for a half hour . on off days i row 1 hour the hit the bags 1 hour speed bag heavy bag and my muay Thai kicks on the kicking bag .

Should I just tough trough it and get a gym membership? The problem is there has to be a gym that is open at 11 since that would be my only time to workout. What should I do? Should I just continue to do vigorous house work and walking the dog? Or should I just get a gym membership? Thanks I appreciate it!

It would be fun to have some group sessions. I currently work out 5 times per week and my schedule is pretty flexible.

Either way you are very young and your body will respond to any slight changes you make in your diet and exercise program. Fore example, do you drink soda, eat chips, candy or cookies? If you do eliminate those foods because they are not doing anything positive for your body. When you give your body the proper nutrition and are active most of the day you will keep a healthy weight at your age.

Personal trainers without any connection to a well-reputed gym or fitness club should be certified by a major fitness organization, such as the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) or the American Council on Exercise. Exercise videos help, but be sure they are suited to their individual age and health needs, and bear the AFAA seal. Get a dog.
