Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I am new here, but i am looking for some help. I have been taking fioricet for many years and I have not used any fioricet since Tuesday night, (today is Saturday). I don't know if I went through any withdrawals, but I know that I was an utter mess... My hormones are all out of whack and I have been an emotional wreck anyway... So here's my question.
Avatar n tn I am 46 years old and have been taking fioricet since I was 17. I suffer from chronic daily headaches and take upwards of 12 or more fioricet a day as well as topamax and effexor for prevention of migraines. Since my doctor will only prescribe up to 6 fioricet per day, I have resorted to orderly brand fioricet online as $200 for 90 tablets. My questions are how to detox at home off fioricet - should I take 12 tabs, then 11 the next day, then 10 the next day or what?
Avatar f tn In December, I stopped vicodin cold turkey and have never looked back (well, maybe a few times I peeked!)... Anyway, my doc Rx'd fioricet for headaches recently and I only took them for about 3-4 days until my head was feeling better... Well, here's my question. I feel like I am withdrawing from opiates all over again! Nausea, heart palps, weird sensations in hands, muscle twitches, etc etc... Could this be from just a few days useage of fioricet?
Avatar f tn Wait for vicki. She is the resident Fioricet guru. But it he has taken it for that long, he is at least dependent and likely addicted!
Avatar f tn I've been taking Fioricet with Codeine for 5 years now for my migraines and I can't even imagine my life without it. I'm only 18, started when I was 13, and I've tried so many different medications for migraine prevention and zapping the migraines when I get them. Nothing else has come close to doing what the Fioricet with Codeine does.
Avatar f tn Fioricet is a very hard drug to come off of ..YOU HAVE TO TAPER OFF OF IT .alot of doctor hospitalize people to . Plz talk to a doctor they he/she can work out a taper plan for you .wd are dangerous there are seizure risks.so plz plz do not try doing this without a taper plan and help.
Avatar m tn ve been taking Fioricet daily for probably 6 months. Started innocently of course. I understand the Fioricet is causing my daily migraines and I need to taper off. I get Botox for migraines (4 rounds so far) which should be working and probably truly is but because I take so much Fioricet, I get awful migraines every single day. I wanted to start a taper plan this week but the migraines are so bad I wasn't able to stick with just 4 per day (then taper from there).
1193434 tn?1267628242 I just cut to 1/2 Fioricet am and 1/2 Fioricet pm. I am getting by today. Stomache bothering me so I am just staying on the couch. I have to work tomorrow so I hope I feel even a little better tomorrow. I have had to use valium for the w/d if they are bad. I have to go to work or I will loose my job. I will cut back on the valium after. Iam only taking the valium if it's really bad. Yesterday was bad. Today is a little better. I was trying to do 1 fioricet in the am and none in the pm.
Avatar f tn My neurologist prescribed Fioricet for migraines and I have taken occasionally over the last 7 years. My dosage is very low as I only can take 2 in a 24 hour period. After the second aneurysm 6 months ago, I have been taking Fioricet daily with no relief. Went to another neurologist who gave me a nerve block. Bad mistake. I have never been so sick. He also told me I was having rebound headaches from the Fioricet. I decided to stop taking it.
Avatar m tn I only used meds when i needed them, never long term. But I ve been using Fioricet for about 2 yrs. Im not sure when it became on a daily basis. I started thinking "oh, i have a headache again this morning, I need the Fioricet again" , took 2 in the mornings, and that was it.. It felt really good, I felt energetic but calmed and relaxed at the same time. After 6 months of taking it maybe 4 times a week/2 per day am, it started feeling sleepy during the day.
Avatar f tn I wanted to share my story about fioricet addiction so that I could possibly help someone else. I started taking Fioricet 11 years ago, I was asked by a " friend" if my dr would call me in a script for it ( my so called friend is heavly addicted to fioricet ) my dr did call me in 90 with 3 refills , I gave my friend 40 & kept the rest. I decided to take 1 & liked the way it made me feel so I took 2. Now back 11 years ago I had these " rules" I would follow..
Avatar f tn I'm realizing after finishing a benzo detox a week ago, I might also be facing a barbituate detox from the phenobarbital and the fioricet. Im already prone to seizures. I'm having trouble knowing if I just feel uncomfortable or if I'm in actual danger. I'm so terrified. When I left detox they told me itsunlikely I'd seize but they didn't say impossible.
Avatar f tn I am worried for my daughter who has carpal tunnel. The company doc prescribed fioricet. Is fioricet ever indicated or used in the treatment of carpal tunnel? I cannot find one piece of literature to support this use of fioricet, online. Have been looking for hours. She is already on an antidepressant. This drug scares me. E.R. Docs gave her hydrocodone, and she took 17 in just two days! I got tvto surgery one week ago and was prescribed the same, hydrocodone. I still have 16 left.
Avatar f tn I started going through what I believe are withdrawl symptoms because of my alchohol and fioricet use (abuse). I drink 2-3 glasses of white wine every night and end up taking one fioricet in the morning to combat my headache and sluggishness from the wine the night before. Sometimes, I might take another fioricet if my headache returns in the afternoon, but that is no more than maybe once a week. I took my fioricet as ususal yesterday am and again in the afternoon.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if butalbital (fioricet) builds up in your system? It seems if I take it over a couple days for a migraine that even when I do the rx dose it affects me more on the 2nd or 3rd day. Just wondering what others have found. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have been taking fioricet for tension headaches since around 1991. My doctor prescribes 4 per day, but I take 8. I need to get off this merry-go-round,. Help me to gradually taper off without having full blown migraines as a result of not taking the fioricet.
Avatar n tn Hi. I had been taking fioricet (no codeine) for approximately 10 years, first for relentless headaches and later for a cervical spine problem. I took 3 a day on average and never took more than four when my pain was at it's worst. It didn't rid me of the pain, but seemed to at least allow me to function. I began getting concerned and tried to stop taking, but it was obvious that my body was addicted. My doc corrected me and said I was dependent.
Avatar f tn can anybody relate to the symptoms i am attributing to fioricet with codeine? i have taken it for many yrs for cluster headaches am allergic to nsaids i am anxious and very depressed anybody?
Avatar f tn i do know that part of the fioricet is a barbituate and u do have to wean down to quit....have u talked to your doctor?
Avatar n tn I need to Detox off Fioricet again. Firtst time I was given Phenobarbital and was so allergic they had to rush me to the hospital!! Every Detox I've called in the past few days tell me that the only way to detox?
20867478 tn?1552394566 I have a Rx for 30 Fioricet each month. I usually take all of it within about 10-15 days (hormonal headaches). So, I take 1-4 over the course of those days. When I notice I'm getting close to running out, I back off and drop it down to 2 a day for about three days, then 1 a day for three, then a half for three. Never had a problem with this until this month.
Avatar f tn Could Cephadyn/Fioricet be possibly added to the "treatment" section on the pain tracker? Thank you!
Avatar f tn I just found out I was pregnant.... I quite the fioricet cold turkey and went through the withdrawals. But I am so scared that I have hurt the baby! I have read that this can cause birth deffects and tumors in a baby! I didn't know if any one had any knowledge on this.
757850 tn?1236735160 gave me my first script of fioricet 90 tablets 100 refills YES 100 REFILLS, at age 12. I am now 26 and this drug will always be a miserable part of my life. I was never told it was addictive. I hate when people say well maybe you just have an "addictive personality" I have never ever been addicted to any other drug in my life and i can take a narcotic and never crave it again. Fioricet is laced with evil, doctors need to stop handing out life ruining medications like fioricet.
Avatar f tn Hey all, thank you for your helpful posts. I have been on Fioricet for probably 20 years, for migraines from optic neuritis. 6 per day, doctor-approved until recently, when she said they were trying to get all patients off this drug. The more I read about it, I could see why. So today I picked up a bottle of phenobarbital, got rid of all fioricet, and will take the first phenobarb tonight at bedtime.
