Avatar n tn She has nausea, vomiting at times, a loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping and has lost weight. Can someone give me some help in handling her withdrawal?
Avatar n tn I have a mild tolerance to hydrocodone because of the chronic pain I have due to my hernia. I have no insurance so I cant get the surgery yet, however my script for lortab is only $4. I am also prescribed Fioricet w/coedine for tension headaches. When I am out of lortab, I take the fioricet w/coedine for both headaches and hernia pain. I am 26, weigh 185lbs, and am 6'2. I take an average of 7-9 lortab a day and 6-7 fioricet a day (maybe only one over recomended doese, based on pain levels).
Avatar f tn I'm realizing after finishing a benzo detox a week ago, I might also be facing a barbituate detox from the phenobarbital and the fioricet. Im already prone to seizures. I'm having trouble knowing if I just feel uncomfortable or if I'm in actual danger. I'm so terrified. When I left detox they told me itsunlikely I'd seize but they didn't say impossible.
Avatar f tn I started going through what I believe are withdrawl symptoms because of my alchohol and fioricet use (abuse). I drink 2-3 glasses of white wine every night and end up taking one fioricet in the morning to combat my headache and sluggishness from the wine the night before. Sometimes, I might take another fioricet if my headache returns in the afternoon, but that is no more than maybe once a week. I took my fioricet as ususal yesterday am and again in the afternoon.

1690584 tn?1340297472 Also Fioricet has both a barbiturate and caffeine. Caffeine should be limited to 200 mg or less per day while pregnant and one Fioricet has 40mg. Definitely do some research before taking Fioricet while pregnant. I've been taking Tylenol for my migraines while pregnant which doesn't entirely get rid of them but at least keeps them at bay. I have also found that warm showers and a heating pad on my neck helps some. Best wishes for you...hopefully your migraines will ease up!
1664685 tn?1333727482 I went to the doc yesterday and talked to him because I have been having headaches all the time and tylenol just wasn't helping..he put me on inderal to take every 6 hours and then gave me fioricet to take when the headaches got really bad but he said not to take it a lot because it is a category c med...I'm kinda scared to take it but I guess my doc wouldn't give it to me if the benefits didn't out weight the risks...
Avatar f tn I have taken fioricet for more than 30 years. I developed migraines at age 8 and was thrilled to find something that took away the pain. For at least five years now my doctors have been chastising me and telling me to stop taking fioricet. Even my insurance company has sent me warnings about fioricet. Since I can't get anyone to prescribe it for me I have been ordering it online for over two years and have maxed out credit cards and spent huge amounts of money.
Avatar f tn m vomiting, suffering from extreme anxiety and shaking so badly I can barely function. I have a box of suboxone left and was wondering if they might help me get thru the withdrawal of the Fioricet. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!!!
Avatar f tn I was tested for H pylori in 2011 and again in 2012 and was told I didn't have it...interestingly though, when I was put on erythromycin for a month to help motility, I got much better and remained so for almost two years...I have had fibromyalgia pain since in college...and was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse when I was about 35...it is supposedly a benign condition in me but I suffered from what is called mitral valve prolapse syndrome for many years....
Avatar f tn I am taking 2-Fioricet (butalbital, actaminophen, and caffeine- 50/325/40 )daily for tension headaches for 3 years and 1mg clonazepam at bedtime for 15 years for restless leg syndrome. I ran out of the clonazepam prescription-- last day was Saturday. Monday night was sleepless, and by Tues. late afternoon, became nauseated, dry heaving, shaking, chills--no fever. I thought I had the flu.
Avatar n tn it could be stress related...lack of sleep..just about anything....go to a good NS and get tested....MRI's to rule any conditon that might be more serious.....since u mention some back trouble in the past and migraines...is y I suggest a NS and MRI's...I am not a dr or in the medical field....just like u going thru alot of the same stuff and trying to get answers so it all leads to relief.
Avatar f tn Well not my migraines have gotten so bad that I had to go to labor and delivery and I told the doc that I did not want to be put on any narcotics because of fear of the withdrawls and my baby. So they put me on Fioricet. Well I just looked it up and well I guess I can become depended on it as well! I guess my question is. If anyone out there knows if this can effect my baby and if my baby will have withdrawls from it as well.
Avatar n tn What I can tell you though is that Propanolol is a Beta Blocker used for the preventative treatment of migraine headaches and that Fioricet is a butalbital that is sometimes used for the acute treatment of migraine headache.
Avatar f tn Having many symptoms, like- nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, 30 lb. weight loss, loss of appetite, hot/cold sweats, insomnia for days at a time, *anxiety*, panic attacks, rages, depression, migraines, tinnitus, extremely fatigued, GI upset... I could go on, but I'll spare you.
Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I am new here, but i am looking for some help. I have been taking fioricet for many years and I have not used any fioricet since Tuesday night, (today is Saturday). I don't know if I went through any withdrawals, but I know that I was an utter mess... My hormones are all out of whack and I have been an emotional wreck anyway... So here's my question.
Avatar n tn t become addicted to fioricet and my family doc. was the one who said stop taking the fioricet and everything and just deal with your headaches. So, I unfortunately have to do this at home myself. Please help me figure our a plan that is safe and workable.
Avatar f tn I had hormonal headaches both times and took Fioricet. It helped so much! I still take it as needed - pms. Without it, I never would have made it 9 months and my doc saw that. My kids are 10 and 7 and perfectly healthy. 'Healthy, happy mommy..healthy, happy babies"!
Avatar m tn He performed a couple of electrical type tests to my hand and arm which have obvious nerve damage, gave me a prescription for fioricet and sent me on my way. It was very disappointing that I was unable to describe any of my symptoms or discuss any issues with him but he was very abrasive and in a hurry. He is one of the few neurologists in the area that will work with workman’s compensation patents so I feel as if I am stuck.
Avatar f tn Im not a doctor but ive been on both hydrocodone and butalbital (generic vicodin and fioricet) for about 2 years now without any interacting symptoms. Oftentimes if you think you might be experiencing problems your body will release epinephrine (adrenaline) which could be causing your symptoms. Try to do everything to relax the next time it occurs.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Fioricet with Codeine for 5 years now for my migraines and I can't even imagine my life without it. I'm only 18, started when I was 13, and I've tried so many different medications for migraine prevention and zapping the migraines when I get them. Nothing else has come close to doing what the Fioricet with Codeine does.
Avatar f tn I am a mom of 3 and have been on Fioricet and norco for 4 years. I am so afraid I am not going to live to see my babies grow. I have tried to stop so many times. Every day I say Today will be better. Does anyone have any experience with Fioricet?
Avatar f tn m not sure if my body had simply grown tolerant being on the same dose dly for 5-6 yrs or if it was because of the increased demands my body had to go through this past year, but I made the difficult decision to increase my oxycontin to 50mg three times dly. I have also been on fioricet and imitrex PRN for my many headaches and migraines. I suspect that my headaches have increased in frequency and intensity to the point that I have them daily because of all the meds I take.
Avatar f tn My habit was a total secret to my family and I came clean to everyone and it was a great decision on my part. What a weight off my shoulders and they were a great help and supportive. I'm sure the people that love you won't judge and will want you to get better. They don't want u to die. Those drugs and the way your taking them does not sound good for you. All drugs have there purpose and I'm sure with your health issues if you took them as prescribed they would be fine.
Avatar m tn I understand the Fioricet is causing my daily migraines and I need to taper off. I get Botox for migraines (4 rounds so far) which should be working and probably truly is but because I take so much Fioricet, I get awful migraines every single day. I wanted to start a taper plan this week but the migraines are so bad I wasn't able to stick with just 4 per day (then taper from there). Any advice/help would be appreciated. What do/did you use in between the Fioricet?
