Avatar f tn There is ptosis with posterior rotation of the right kidney. The left kidney is normal in position and configuration. There is a 3 mm low attenuation in the upper pole of the left kidney. Should I be worried about this?
Avatar m tn I read a post on healthunlocked about someone experiencing then same fingernails issue, who had a resolved case of kidney inflammation.
Avatar f tn They are the same color as nails, not very deep but definitely noticable. These ridges are especially noticable on the bed of my thumbs and also on the toenails of the big toes. Other fingernails/toenails don't seem to have ridges, maybe just a few small ridges on index finger nails.
Avatar n tn I really run much more than what I was used. When I finished, my fingernails were purple. Since then, they have stayed that way. A week after that, I started having many other symptoms (headaches, wooziness, etc). I was told by my doctors that it was raynauds, but now I have found out that raynaud causes attacks and then fingernails come back to normal. Mine are purple all the time, but occasionally my right thumb and left index turn very blue, although they return to purple when I press them.
Avatar n tn t a Thyroid question, but I thought it might be a metabolic problem and if you could help. All during my youth, I had these solid white patches under my fingernails in different spots, on and off....Very obvious white spots that aren't normally there.
Avatar n tn Half and hour after the exercise I noticed that my fingernails were blue and probably my lips were a little blue too. It lasted for some hours, but my fingernails never returned to their original colour. They are somewhat purple now. Only my thumb in my right hand gets very blue sometimes. Avatar f tn I went to my doctor and brought it up. But he said that to have a tactile sensory disorder, being touched would need to cause a painful or burning sensation. Is that true? Or could it also be a feeling of extreme discomfort along with the fight or flight response that I feel?

Avatar f tn The doctor says my thyroid hormone levels fluctuates as do my symptoms. My fingernails are the worst and I am so very tired and weak. They are very soft and thin with ridges. I thought the synthyroid was supposed to help with these issues. 745313 tn?1323142298 I knew about the thinning hair, which I am experiencing to a much, MUCH worse degree than I expected (but hey, it's summer!! ) But I have never read anything about tx affecting your fingernails. It only makes sense, as they are both made of the same thing - but has anyone else had this problem? Mine are awful! They are like paper, thin, peeling, and constantly ripping, even though they are cut completely short.
Avatar f tn Anyone have terrible fingernails with their VDD? I ask because for the past few years my nails have been very blah, the minute they start to grow they just split and peel. Now, I have noticed being on the VD for the past few weeks/months my nails finally seem to be growing slowly and not splitting or peeling, yet anyhow.
1067423 tn?1267740670 Hey there, girl.....I don't know. It sounds terrible. When I was getting chemo, I had an eruption of psoriasis and I lost my toenails and they aren't coming back....chemo ended 5 years ago. I hurt my toes all the time; but I know it would be much worse if it was my finger nails. I wish I could offer some help. Maybe someone will come along and know something helpful. Have you spoken to your doc or your chemo team about this? That's a good place to start.
